Harbour View Motel

Hotel views were nice but parking b is ridiculous. We had to park on a hill and couldn’t park by our room so we had to drag our luggage up and down. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice views from the rooms. Was dated and could do with a refresh. Parking is difficult.

People were genuinely friendly and very honest. We had a small,issue with a double payment and they were straight onto it to sort it out for us. Really appreciated their support. Beautiful clean and tidy rooms with wonderful views over the Marina. Parking is somewhat restrictive for larger vehicles though. They do their best to give you a spot to fit your vehicle. Great stay and close to everything.

Views are great from the front of the hotel. Parking is a challenge as it’s uphill (steep) and the spots allocated are tight.

The room was clean, the harbor view was incredible, and we watched a beautiful sunset over the mountains! The only thing to note, is it is on a steep hill which is a little tricky driving up to the hotel parking, so we parked on the street, which was fine.

Checkin was simple. Lady was nice. Wanted to use laundry but they dont provide coins for their coin operated machines! Obviously this is very inconvenient to us. I suggest property have coins available for customers. Room was large but simple. Beds were hard. Extra blankets were the wool type. Its loud on street. Glad we didnt have anyone either side as there is no permanent partition up privacy. We stayed one night wouldnt have wanted to stay longer.

VERY difficult parking arrangement. Very steep and twisted drive up to a parking space. View of the harbor was great after the treacherous parking. Motel overall was a bit shabby. Needs a refresh.

The parking was terrible. We nearly got blocked into our park. Only 20mm either side of car and building to get out. It took us 15 minutes just to get out.

Laundry service machines old and in an unusual location. Did not use.

What a dirty disgusting hotel, firstly nice and polite, dropped our bag off and out for dinner, returned an hour later, decided to make a cuppa, took the lid off the kettle and wow what a shock to see brown slimy substance clinging to the sides, no way, decided to look further, opened the microwave to the most disgusting one ever, absolutely filthy and looked like it had been like it for a very long time, opened the draws to defined 3 out of 4 had mouse droppings, (shut) nearly threw up, same mouse phase been above the shower dome and pooped everywhere, fan had grown so much mould it gardly did its job, the hairdryer worked intermittently and had no testing tag, clearly was not safe, the bed was unbelievably the worst ever and should have been in a skip 25 years ago, absolutely shocking, could not get hold of anyone dispute numerous attempts, called in the morning to have a Indian fella be in total denial who put the phone down on more than one occasion. Be warned this place is so so bad, one of the worst places in New Zealand ever had to stay in, forced to stay as last minute due to our motorhome having a problem, never ever again and would rather stay on a park bench than stay at this health risk. Beware stay at your own peril.

Having booked the accommodation over 10 months ago, we were disappointed to learn on arrival that as the venue was fully booked, we would be assigned a room without a view. Our room was a converted garage. It was comfortable, but seriously? After a 10 month lead time? Our room wasn't serviced the three nights we spent there. We had to chase up fresh towels and toilet paper.

The property was immaculate, room was quite spacious and had a great view of the harbour. Three minute walk to shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. Recommend this property.

Lovely greeting on arrival. I was shown to the room I booked expecting to see a slightly tired room as it was advertised as budget studio. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very clean bright and comfortable room with all the amenities I would need. Despite it being advertised as no parking the lady I spoke to offered to let me park my motorcycle in the garage. This room was perfect for me I would definitely recommend it.

This property needs some love. They say the property is a “no smoking” property but the room smelled like an ashtray after the excessive amount of cleaning product wears off. We mentioned it upon leaving and was told “yeah we are working on it”. Bed and couch should be tossed as they are worn out. I would not stay again for sure.

Large comfortable room with modern bathroom. Deck with a view over the marina was a bonus.

The location was amazing, great selection of tv channels, and staff was very friendly. There was no air conditioning, therefore it was really warm while we were in Picton in the rooms (even with the windows open). That really hampered our enjoyment of the stay.

We were unit 2, the sliding door to the bathroom was very difficult to open/close as it did not slide at all on the track. The black couch needs better upholstery/repairs. The water pressure in shower was very weak

Views of the marina good. Layout of the interiors roomy and practical. Outdoor deck great. Bed comfortable and warm. Some fittings worn such as power points, cupboard and drawer hardware. Car parking tight requiring skill

Big room with a nicely appointed kitchen. Fabulous harbor views.

Great view, close to town, decent sized room and bathroom. Beds were too hard, shower had no pressure, no shampoo or conditioner provided, the internet was nearly unusable, the car park is quite tricky.

Large comfortable room. We were on the top level and loved the view of the harbor.

Loved our harbor view from the balcony. Place was close to the city center. Only complaint is that the mattress needs to be replaced.

Ange the manager is awesome! We had a problem in the middle of the night and she was very responsive

We really loved this motel. We stayed two nights, on either end of walking the Queen Charlotte Track. The managers were so nice and stored our bags for us during our walk. Both of our rooms were huge with a very comfortable bed and couch. We also had a lovely balcony with a beautiful view of the harbor and sounds (best from our first room which was on the top level and still pretty great from our second room one level down). The little kitchenette was perfect for making tea and coffee in the morning before we wandered down to town for breakfast (the Village Bakeriji is the BEST!). One thing to note: there is no AC but we kept the windows open at night and the breeze off the water cooled things down. The location is excellent, just a 3-4 minute walk to restaurants and the water taxis. We didn't have a car with us but they do have free onsite parking. The driveway is a bit steep. One fun note: the TV package that they have includes an MTV 80s channel. It was a fun find and we enjoyed watching it.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Just be aware parking can be tricky.

Located at a convenient location, and very close to the harbor. Nice view from the room. The place is very clean and with parking space. Very smooth check in process.

Bit of a challenging hill at the end of a lengthy walk from the port, but well worth it. Ideal position from which to explore the town and make road/rail/sea connections.

Great to stay at when in Picton. Easy access to town and ferry. The views out over Picton, the harbour and sound are pretty impressive.

The property was well maintained and clean. We stayed one night before hiking the Queen Charlotte Track. It was an easy walk to the harbor to catch the water taxi. A good choice to make. I'd do it again.

Great sized room with fab view over the water. Convenient for shops and restaurants and of course Picton ferry terminal. Recommend.

Incredible views from our balcony! Right near the waterfront and harbour. Parking was free although a little tight. Owners were lovely and very helpful upon check in. Great choice for a stay in Picton!
