Plenty of free and accessible parking which was great. Getting an Uber from here to the seaside, city centre etc. was easy and reasonable cost. Food was good as it’s the Greene King/Hungry Horse chain and they catered for my Gluten allergy. The staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful. It’s just the hotel and rooms overall are so run-down and dated with lots of patch-up work everywhere; everything creaks and is stained and worn, wonky and has that musty smell. The windows still have gaps in them when closed and the portable heaters provided just give off that burnt dust smell when on. We had our room swapped when spoke to reception about our original room as the bath was coming away from the wall, which was appreciated as the new room was better, but still very much the same as the other room - dated basic and patchy. I don’t think it’s worth a complaint, as we overall had a good sleep on a comfy clean bed with no noise disruptions and were able to wash and get fed with lovely service from the staff, it just needs some serious TLC everywhere.

Slightly dated but hinestly for the price is was fabtastic. It was clean and comfortable. Staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be coming back with our toddler. They have a decent play park outside and a soft play within the pub building. Next door to the Innlodge. Facilities wise they have everything you would like.

We had a pleasant stay for 2 nights, The restaurant, soft play and swing park right at the hotel was an added bonus! The rooms were clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for a family of 4. Areas could be doing with being updated but it didn’t affect our stay and can’t complain for the price we paid!

Nice hotel booked at short notice for overnight stay. Big car park. Far enough out of Portsmouth for security to not be a concern. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff helpful and welcoming. Good pub on premises with range of meals at reasonable prices. Cant fault it.

Room got all you need, staff are lovely. Good pub attached. Only slight negative is a very limited buffet breakfast option, plus dont open till 7am and on both mornings not all the necessary items were available ie,late bringing milk and fruit out. Which overall isn't good for all the the guest who were rushing to get to work. Shame can't open at 6.30am plus give staff more time to prepare before the guests arrive.

The place is very dated and in much need of a refurbishment. The carpet in our room was thread bare in places. There was mildew around the sink. The heating was broken. The furniture was very old and worn. But the bed was comfortable and the sheets freshly laundered.

Pleasant reception area , pity rooms werent up to same standard fire doors kept being opened by public no restraint by staff on customers on this issue..No lift in property, disabled and had to carry wheelchair upstairs..dirty bathroom..no pillow protectors..filthy carpet, dirty cups for tea and coffee tray. dirty toilet . cracked bathroom sink.filth on bedroom walls.. Dining staff v pleasant housekeeping needs looking into, maybe get some firm to deep clean establishment. wont be returning

Positive = Reception staff polite and helpful. Bed comfortable. Negative = Hotel is tired and in need of an upgrade. More attention to cleaning as we had a dead fly in a cup and our teaspoons had cleaning residue still on them, also dust on the table legs and walls with dirt splatters.Which I cleaned off. Others in our group had similar issues. The breakfast room was not ideal and inviting for a larger group of 6. Food is overcooked and warm at best. Asked to have another egg done runny, and although the young girl went and asked the chef, was told that they were unable to do so as they were busy with also running the pub restaurant next door. Checked next door to find only a couple of people seated, so not busy. The continental wasn't kept topped up, told more would come out in a few minutes,non ever did. Did get bread for the toaster, though. Juices and hot water are not topped up. We were seated midway through breakfast service, and as guests, we shouldn't have to keep asking for these things. There is a definite lack of leadership and mentoring with much attention needed towards attitude within the kitchen. Overall, our experience was negative, and we will not return.

Dated and not very clean room. Room not quite prepared Had to get more towels,cup,milk,tea, Bathroom fan so loud and lasts too long. Kids go toilet in the night it wakes ya up. Staff were so so welcoming, kind and helpful

The room had a damp smell when walking in an attempt to diaguise it by peaving windows open did not work. Room was covered in cobwebs, had 1 cup for 2 people and 1 bath towel for 2 people. Staff were super friendly all over the hotel and restaurant but £200 for 2 nights for a damp dusty cobweb filled room is very disappointing.

The room size was bigger than I expected. The general condition 9f the, room was quite poor. Tired carpet, tired furniture. The two electric wall mounted radiators were dented and both did not work. The main light switch which operated the 4 main wall lights would not turn the lights off. So the only way to turn them off was to cut the electric by taking the room key card out of the slot to turn the electric on and off. Overall the quality of the room was very dated and tired. Probably built in the 70,s or 80,s.

The room had everything I needed, but it was all rather tired. The heater didn't work, the towel rail didn't work, so I spent the first night freezing cold until they brought me a portable heater. The shower was a fixed height over-bath type and the controls were virtually seized up, making it hard to turn on and off. The attached pub was good with a varied menu, but I spent little time there as I needed to be in central Portsmouth. It is a short walk to the waterfront in one direction and a large retail park in the other, so I couldn't understand why the council had no bus routes through the area. I had left my car at home (up north) and travelled down by train, only to find the nearest bus route to the hotel was a 0.8 mile walk inland. Obviously not the hotel's fault, but you would think the Ocean Retail Park would have petitioned the council? That alone would make me pay a few extra pounds to stay nearer the city next time.

Sadly the whole hotel is in bad need of repair and redecoration. Worst of all the mattress was basically a bag of springs. I found the floor more comfortable. Pity because it’s location would warrant the love and care it needs

Room faced afternoon sun and curtains were not drawn therefore unpleasantly hot with only a small desk which only blew hot air around. Key card controlled electrics so fan couldn't be left on while room unoccupied. In contrast public rooms were too cold with AC. Also no choice of pillows, only hard ones which gave me a very bad headache and a bad night's sleep

Have used the Inn Lodge a few times and have always felt comfortable there. The room was extremely clean, quiet and the shower was great with good water pressure. Staff were extremely professional and friendly and check-in was quick and easy.

Plenty of free and accessible parking which was great. Getting an Uber from here to the seaside, city centre etc. was easy and reasonable cost. Food was good as it’s the Greene King/Hungry Horse chain and they catered for my Gluten allergy. The staff were all pleasant, friendly and helpful. It’s just the hotel and rooms overall are so run-down and dated with lots of patch-up work everywhere; everything creaks and is stained and worn, wonky and has that musty smell. The windows still have gaps in them when closed and the portable heaters provided just give off that burnt dust smell when on. We had our room swapped when spoke to reception about our original room as the bath was coming away from the wall, which was appreciated as the new room was better, but still very much the same as the other room - dated basic and patchy. I don’t think it’s worth a complaint, as we overall had a good sleep on a comfy clean bed with no noise disruptions and were able to wash and get fed with lovely service from the staff, it just needs some serious TLC everywhere.

Positive = Reception staff polite and helpful. Bed comfortable. Negative = Hotel is tired and in need of an upgrade. More attention to cleaning as we had a dead fly in a cup and our teaspoons had cleaning residue still on them, also dust on the table legs and walls with dirt splatters.Which I cleaned off. Others in our group had similar issues. The breakfast room was not ideal and inviting for a larger group of 6. Food is overcooked and warm at best. Asked to have another egg done runny, and although the young girl went and asked the chef, was told that they were unable to do so as they were busy with also running the pub restaurant next door. Checked next door to find only a couple of people seated, so not busy. The continental wasn't kept topped up, told more would come out in a few minutes,non ever did. Did get bread for the toaster, though. Juices and hot water are not topped up. We were seated midway through breakfast service, and as guests, we shouldn't have to keep asking for these things. There is a definite lack of leadership and mentoring with much attention needed towards attitude within the kitchen. Overall, our experience was negative, and we will not return.

Great location for a weekend spent at Goodwood Festival of Speed (about 45 mins away with traffic and much cheaper than anything closer). Easy to find, friendly staff, good breakfast and evening meals and perfectly acceptable room. Will use again for future FOS visits.

The room had everything I needed, but it was all rather tired. The heater didn't work, the towel rail didn't work, so I spent the first night freezing cold until they brought me a portable heater. The shower was a fixed height over-bath type and the controls were virtually seized up, making it hard to turn on and off. The attached pub was good with a varied menu, but I spent little time there as I needed to be in central Portsmouth. It is a short walk to the waterfront in one direction and a large retail park in the other, so I couldn't understand why the council had no bus routes through the area. I had left my car at home (up north) and travelled down by train, only to find the nearest bus route to the hotel was a 0.8 mile walk inland. Obviously not the hotel's fault, but you would think the Ocean Retail Park would have petitioned the council? That alone would make me pay a few extra pounds to stay nearer the city next time.

Nice hotel booked at short notice for overnight stay. Big car park. Far enough out of Portsmouth for security to not be a concern. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff helpful and welcoming. Good pub on premises with range of meals at reasonable prices. Cant fault it.

Decent hotel for the price. Good sound proofing/ soft closing room doors, nice TV, bar and pub grub attached. Only negative is the traffic to get to the motorway 2 miles away takes 15/20 minutes in the morning.

Staff were friendly and the hotel was clean but the rooms and bathrooms were very much in need of updating. Breakfast was fine as long as you just want a cooked breakfast otherwise, you’d be very disappointed as the alternative options were extremely limited.

Very old, tired looking overall. Free WiFi was useless. The bar staff on Tuesday night were great. Breakfast on Thursday was poor due to pricing, online price was £2.50 for the scrambled eggs on toast got that and a cup of tea came to payment it suddenly became £9! So it costs £6.50 for a cuppa? Only slight negative is a very limited buffet breakfast option, plus dont open till 7am and on both mornings not all the necessary items were available ie,late bringing milk and fruit out. Which overall isn't good for all the the guest who were rushing to get to work. Shame can't open at 6.30am plus give staff more time to prepare before the guests arrive.

Breakfast fine if you’re having something cooked but continental option was limited with yogurt, cereal & pastries however fruit was old and not fresh and no muffins, (as advertised). Rooms were very dated decor and the mattresses are well in need of replacement as feels like you are sleeping in a hole. Parking free which is a bonus compared to some hotels. Cheaper than other local options but has pros & cons. Probably wouldn’t stay again unless rooms were updated.

2nd visit to this hotel...and same room as I enjoyed it so much last time. And won't be last visit. My room felt and smelled like it had been cleaned from top to bottom before I arrived. Everything is spotless right down to inside of kettle. There are parts that are worn but for the price I overlook them. Staff are beyond helpful and friendly. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and these guys are top tier...in fact...Number 1!! Amenities in room and around hotel are very good. Parking is plentiful. Local shops and fast food, supermarkets and garages for petrol and snacks. Easy access to motorways and A roads. Quick access to city and beaches.
