The property itself is beautiful, we went for a hike along the trail and was lovely. Amenities are great, a small but very useful gym and of course many pools on sites. All of the restaurants on site are great. The Michelins restó is a great experience. I booked a lymphatic massage and facial and that was not a good experience felt very unprofessional and highly overpriced in terms of the experience received.

Amazing views of river. Minimalist decor allowing one to enjoy the gorgeous nature surrounding the entire property. The spa, gym, swimming pools, sauna and steam room were spectacular. The restaurant had a 5⭐️ chef.

Excellent hotel. Very relaxing place to stay with lots of amenities. The spa is lovely. Views are amazing. Our room had 2 terraces overlooking the river. Highly recommend

Beautiful setting and the hotel is absolutely wonderful. Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Lovely relaxed feeling throughout. 3 great pools to choose from, very good spa services (the best massage my wife has ever had!) We stayed in the Arda suite was probably the best hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. From comfort and amenities to incredible view it was a wow moment 10 times a day! The attention to children is unbelievable, adding so many special touches to our room for our 2yr old made the stay incredibly special for her. We took a boat trip which was absolutely stunning and such a special experience for us. Loved our stay and will definitely be returning

This place is very peaceful. I am not sure I have ever had such a quiet and relaxing hotel experience. Food, rooms and staff were all exceptional. Loved the floor to ceiling view of the Douro River from our room and rooftop pool was awesome.

Séjour en juin de 3 nuits . Havre de paix . Vue sur la rivière . Tout était exceptionnel. Décor de l’hôtel contemporain de très bon gout . Ambiance Spa et relax . Trois piscine dont une intérieure . Personnel professionnel , courtois , souriant . Nous avons adoré notre séjour . Nous y retournerons et le recommandons fortement .

Excesso de hóspedes provocou fila para o pequeno almoço (nunca vi num hotel ), e a piscina estava com muita gente e não havia espreguiçadeiras livres. Tudo impecável.

The bathroom was poorly designed and unsanitary. The floor tiles in the shower were broken up and unsafe. Water flies were everywhere. One of the two sinks was over the toilet.

Embora o hotel seja voltado principalmente para casais, fomos com nosso filho de 2 anos e ficamos surpresos com o carinho com que fomos recebidos — ele até ganhou um ursinho de pelúcia para dormir! ❤️ Uma experiência inesquecível, com certeza voltaremos!

Interesting place. The location is excellent but the service is haphazard - lots of quite young staff running around without direction or management, so they really want to please, but don’t know how to and often getting it wrong. It’s overpriced for the service provided. I would consider the hotel to be a 4 star property not 5 as stated. Silly things like curtains were off the rails for 5 days!? in a ‘suite’?? No service at sun loungers / adult pool? The gastronomical restaurant was as expensive as London or New York without the service to match. We didn’t see 1 manager over the 5 days!?! Wines are more expensive than London and many are produced around the corner!?! We felt sorry for the staff who could only apologise, but not a cent taken off our rather expensive bill. Also note - there’s very little around the hotel área as far as other restaurants are concerned.

Beautiful property and really good food offerings. We booked room 901 and paid top dollar wanting views and a large outdoor area. On one evening after returning from a wine tasting and having driven over 6 hours, we were tired but looked forward to catching the sunset and drinking wine from our patio. Our next door neighbor had a group yoga party going on in their patio space with music and loud movement instructions coming from the yoga instructor. A hotel employee was in our room opening a bottle of our wine and we complained that we couldn’t go out on our patio with their entire group also outside. Employee was surprised at the number of people doing yoga and said she would talk with the instructor and hotel. Then the very next morning at 9 AM, the entire yoga gang was at it again. So disappointed as the hotel staff obviously did nothing about the situation nor did they follow up with any kind of explanation, really disappointing.

This is an incredible hotel. The views are simply stunning. Worth paying extra to get a room with the river view. Fantastic place to relax. Wifi is also good if needing to work. One of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in.

This place is very peaceful. I am not sure I have ever had such a quiet and relaxing hotel experience. Food, rooms and staff were all exceptional. Loved the floor to ceiling view of the Douro River from our room and rooftop pool was awesome.

we stayed as couple on vacation at the Octant Douro for 3 nights. it's excellent hotel, one of the best we ever stayed,the spacious and the luxurious rooms, the excellent service of the entire staff, the food at breakfast, the view from every window or place in the hotel is amazing ! we enjoyed everything very much and woukd highly recommend this hotel !!

I provided feedback directly to the hotel who requested feedback via WhatsApp, however, no-one has responded despite having read the message, which again demonstrates poor customer service. We paid around £760 for 2 nights and were so excited to stay here, however, the poor and inconsistent customer service ruined our stay. Unfortunately our short 2 night stay was spoilt on our first day when we asked for a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine as other hotels in the area have happily provided one but were ignored initially and then informed we would be charged €25. Our dinner was also a disappointing experience as we were went for the tasting menu and Sommelier Wine pairing and have had amazing tastings & pairings in other restaurants but the food and wine pairings were very disappointing and the wine often mis-timed so we were waiting whilst our food was getting cold. We did provide feedback at the time time but felt it did not go down well and we were left waiting to settle our bill. The following day we tried to request room service, but our calls and WhatsApp messages were not responded to. We were, however, sent up a bottle of wine as an apology later in the afternoon but it did not really compensate for our disappointing visit. I am also disappointed that we have not had a response to our feedback directly from the hotel.

Eh, hidden fees, it’s a spa to relax and the staff constantly is looking to sell you something or up charge for something. Nice people, facilities were sub par, modern look is easy to make look simple but needs more character too it and especially ordering or services to shuttle without charging you inconsistent rates that always changed per staff mmember

Wonderful stay. Stunning property, fabulous views, food was excellent, boat ride in our the Douro magical. Service could have been better - they were not as attentive as I would have liked to see for a property of this caliber.

Beautiful and tranquil hotel, felt relaxed the entire time! Staff was a touch unorganized in the restaurants at times, but overall top notch.

Fantastic staff, Fantastic food and an amazing location. Property is very unique. Built right into the landscape with views of the river everywhere. Highly recommended.

This stay was amazing! This hotel is very peaceful and the staff are kind and helpful. The only thing I would say is I tkoghht the wine tasting was complimentary but it wasn’t it was 45EUR per person, it may have been my misunderstanding. Apart from this cannot fault this place. The restaurant was really good, definitely a Michelin star.

O hotel é maravilhoso, com vistas deslumbrantes por toda parte e jantares magníficos. A comida do restaurante é simplesmente um luxo, com sabores e texturas incomparáveis. O staff é muito atencioso, com destaque para a Belinha e o Guilherme, que nos recomendou ótimos vinhos para harmonizar. Vale a pena uma ida ao spa. E de lá visitar uma quinta, que pode ser reservada na recepção. A distância do hotel é compensada pelo esplendor do lugar.

Beautiful Hotel, magnificent view of the river. Breakfast was a great buffet with a large variety including fresh green juice, smoothies. The staff are extremely helpful. Highly recommended!!

Super hotel with lovely views of the river. Good food in the restaurant and grill. Comfortable with a very good spa. Only one small gripe: we had to ask for items to be replenished at breakfast.
