Saxony Motel

The motel is clean, staff are good, but the upstairs railing seems unsafe. The outside needs to be upgraded.

Fast & Friendly Check-In/Check-Out. Room had comfortable bed, pillows & comforter. Window/in wall type air condtioner was a little loud but did the trick dealing with the hot & humid weather. Pleasant continental breakfast included in cozy dining nook. Hassle-free self-parking. Convenient Tim Horton's across the street and Portugese restaurant next door with dine-in or takeout options. Ideal budget-friendly stay.

We needed accommodations due to a family funeral in Chatham. The property was clean and appeared newly renovated. Photos of the property were accurate. The hosts were very personable, pleasant and helpful. There is no elevator as this is a two-floor motel but parking is close to access the rooms. We were on the second floor but those who cannot climb stairs should request ground floor accommodations when they book. The linens were clean and the rooms smelled fresh. This is a no smoking motel. “Continental Breakfast” was offered but it lacked variety and no hot foods were offered other than tea and coffee. There was no breakfast area, simply a couple of tables in the main office. However, with the price of the rooms being very fair, it was only a small inconvenience. We opted to eat at a local restaurant instead. We got what was presented to us through the Expedia App and were pleased with the results. The only downfall was the garbage disposal trucks that woke us very early, emptying the large business bins in the parking lot next door, which was directly opposite the rooms. Regardless, it was a pleasant stay at a place we had never been before, and we will be back to stay there again.

It was convenient to find. Staff were friendly and helpful. But the back of the building needs repaired badly.

Everything functional as expected in the room. Somebody was scraping ice on the second level balcony at 8:30 AM, making a little noise, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker. Feb 2025

Rooms are in good shape. We were on second floor and stairs to that floor were simple 2x10 boards that creaked when someone walked on them. Sound could be heard in our room 3 doors down from the stairs.

I liked the location, very close to the parks and shopping centers. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I like the parking spot in front of my lower level room.

Grout in washroom needs cleaning. Needs to update tvs to smart tv.need to ensure parking is in line with tgere own room .

The toilet was not even fastened to the floor. Probably for a long time. If it was ever cleaned they would have noticed immediately. Dangerous!

The rooms smells and are dusty, outdated and we’re not cleaned. Dirt marks everywhere. Luckily I brought wipes and paper towel. I had to clean the entire place if we won’t be able to sleep. The place smells and the microwave is so all the inside had stains of some kind of microwaved burnt. The ad shown does not justify the actual condition of the hotel. What a bad decision to stay here

Baseboards are coming loose. Found a Tylenol bottle in the room. Spiders hanging on the ceiling.

Never cleaned the room. Dirty shower hair and bathtub. Everything needed to be cleaned dusted washed. Called and they sent the cleaner and she wiped some things down. Still hair in shower bathtub and place is still not that much cleaner but doable. Too much dust aswell. The window was disgusting. Asked for the window to be washed as it was filthy with hands and smudges. I do not recommend this hotel for families with kids. Drunks yelling, swearing outside while they sit and smoke. Cleaniness is important to me when i stay at any hotel. This hotel isn't for us due to uncleaniness and drunks.

Staff was friendly, check in was easy and fast. Room was clean. Had a great time while there.

The room was very clean, outside could be a bit better, dirty ash trays and some garbage but the rooms were good and clean.

There were stains all over lamp shades, blood on my sheet. There was no cable , error code kept appearing stating the channel was not authorized.

The shower was covered in black mould. Spoke to the office and they didn't care. Police also attended the property at 1:30 am. They banged on a door until 2:30 and finally arrested the guest shortly before 7:00 am. Do not book a stay here

Nice and clean room

Our overall stay was good. The beds and bathroom were clean. Except there was a burn hole in the mattress cover. Considering it was a non smoking room I found this a little strange. The room we were in could use a good Spring Cleaning. A few of the electrical outlets were a little scary. Especially the one the desk lamp was plugged into. The furniture was outdated and a little rickety. All and all It was good for the price.

Spacious room with very comfy beds.

There was no deadbolt or chain latch on the door.

Room was immaculate! Only complaint is the water pressure wasnt strong enough to even rinse the shampoo from my hair. Not the employees fault. Older building maybe?

The room was great. The only issue was that the air conditioner was very loud

Exceptional room and service for a motel, the front desk called us before we arrived to inform us that the Wifi was temporarily down and apologized profusely. They made sure we were happy with our room and tried to put us in the room that was easiest to access as we had an infant. Really couldn't ask for more, although I wish the bathroom light switch was inside the bathroom.

Rooms were renovated and were large....nice rooms!

The motel itself is pretty good. Get what you pay for. The front desk check in staff are awesome! The different clusters of guys out on the balcony and walk ways, leave a little bit to be desired. Beds are uncomfortable however. Room very clean. No major issues other than the beds really are not comfortable.

The hotel was ok, it is an older property that has been upgraded, but the chair in our room was ratty and torn. The biggest problem was the noise from the room upstairs.

I have been returning to Saxony for many years. It is a very good place to stay. Quiet, clean and in a good location. I work in the area and will return again. Thanks for a nice stay!

Young lady at the front desk was super friendly, remembered me after one visit and my preferences for the follow weeks stay Rooms and grounds are always being cleaned. Met the owner the first time at check in and he was super friendly. Lots of hot water for your shower, towels, and bedding are always fresh and clean. Thank you Saxony staff for the efforts you put in to make everyone feel welcomed.

Absolutely our favourite place to stay in Chatham. Rooms are clean, staff is fabulous. Close to shops/restaurants.

The motel is in walking distance of good resterants. The Thai resterant downthe street was first rate. Accomodations were clean and adequate and staff pleasant

We arrived at midnight, fast check in, friendly personal. Comfortable bed and pillows. There is a nice cost restaurant next to the motel and coffee/bakery across the street.

Staff was not really all that helpful. Breakfast area was not of adequate size, and breakfast choices were limited.

The breakfast area had three small tables in a small room. The breakfast options were very limited. The bed and pillows were comfy, and the room was quiet. The lighting was dated, dim and the bathroom switch controlled the shower room, a separate sink area and the loud exhaust fan came on with both lights. A second lock on the door would be beneficial. Staff was friendly and polite.

Only 2 complaints i have is the draft that comes from the door as the door doesnt seal well and the breakfast doesnt have a very good selection and the croissants and muffins tend to be hard

Loved the clean room and extra towels, reception was welcoming and check in and out was a breeze. Wasn't impressed with the breakfast, went just after 9 and they were out of muffins, very little to offer. But enough to keep me full until lunch. Overala very pleasant stay!l

Old motel. Definitely not an 8.0 as advertised on Expedia.ca. Very poor breakfast

Clean room, friendly staff. Muffins and crossaints for quick breakfast. Excellent value for money.

It was our second stay at this motel, I liked the comfort of beds and pillows, I was walking barefoot and noticed how clean the floor was. Breakfast was simple but just enough, orange juice was really good. It is not a hot breakfast but had all my family liked. Waffles for kids, yogurt and croissants for us. One thing I would wish they had extra pillows.

For thr price this was a good mitel. A little noisy fro. Thr room above (just tallkng not partying). Breakfast basic but good ( better than super 8 i stayed at) Would stay again
