Super 8 by Wyndham Gurnee

I got locked in the bathroom because it doesn't operate properly. The pool was out if commission. The whole reason I booked this room was because of the pool. I was very disappointed and it was unsatisfactory. I was also charged a deposit fee of $50.00 in addition to the room fee through Expedia!

Pool was unavailable. Specifically chose this hotel because of the pool and price for a last minute basketball tournament. Entire hotel smells musty, smoky, and like marijuana. Thermostat was broken. Sink stopper was broken. Large stains all over the carpet. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom appeared to be recently remodeled. Would not stay here again.

There was a pool on the ad on hotels.com and then no pool, I paid my deposit online and then was told I had to pay again on property. The person never checked my ID. The room was something out of the 1970s. The only redeeming quality was the bed was nice and comfy. I will not be staying here again!

Stayed here while visiting Six Flags. Very close to the park and Gurnee Mills Mall. Facility was quiet. But it is a bit dated. Everything was clean, but rooms showed age. Decent pool. Lots of eating options near by. Nothing fancy, but a decent night's sleep. Close to I-94.

Property is very nice, the indoor pool is a plus especially if you bring kids. Dining options are walkable and everything including the highway is near property. Staff were very friendly and their breakfast was decent for a quick bite.

Terrible experience. Pay more and stay elsewhere. Cons: 1. We had no TV remote and when we asked the front desk for a remote, she said they don\'t have one, they couldn\'t take one from another room, and they had no rooms available to move us to a room where we could actually watch TV. She suggested we use the power button on the bottom of the TV with no ability to change channels or adjust the volume. So we had no TV during our stay. 2. Although they advertise they have a pool, it was closed. 3. The sheets on my bed were dirty and when I asked for clean sheets because the ones on my bed were dirty, she brought them to the room and handed them to me. I had to strip the old nasty sheets off the bed myself and put the new ones on which were also dirty. 4. The carpet was filthy and the entire room had a musty smell. 5. The hallways were noisy late into the night/early morning. 6. When I asked her to make things right, she suggested I checkout, get a refund, and try to find a room somewhere else or I could talk to the manager in the morning. She said "If you\'re sweet to him, he\'ll probably give you some type of compensation". If I\'m sweet to him?? So not only do I have to spend the night in a disgusting room but now I have to sweet talk the manager for him to make things right? Pros: 1. The beds were very comfortable. 2. Proximity to Six Flags, Gurnee Mills, Dining options, and the expressway. Seriously, stay somewhere else!

The staff are nice. Although everything is older, the hotel is clean. It is very conveniently located. The pool will be open soon.

The pool was closed ! They didn’t tell us nothing but gave us our card keys . They ain’t have breakfast and they over priced .

For breakfast, they ran out of coffee and there wasn't many options. The shower was leaking and the shower head was rusty and sprayed everywhere. The bathroom sink also didn’t work. They were doing construction so there was equipment, boards etc laying around and pool was down. Our TV didn’t work and when we went to the front desk they said they couldn't help us because the manager wasn't in.

If your looking for a comfortable and Relaxing place to stay!!! THIS IS NOT It… The Construction going on wasn’t even the worse part!! The Fish smell throughout the whole place, the Hot Tub that cuts off every 3 mins, the Extremely hard as a Rock Bed and the Really Thin floors and walls , the whole weekend the ppl above us banging on the floors and when we call to complain we was told “No one was in that room” I guess they have Ghost!!! lol I normally don’t go as far to leave reviews I just don’t go Back but this was horrible and I need ppl to know and nor book this Hotel…

Unbelievable that I was in the room almost 2 hours, saw a mouse running behind the fridge and one darted to the bathroom. I went to front desk w video and the young woman was very rude. I packed my belongings and left: they refuse to give me my money back after I was only there 100 minutes! Literally the Expedia agent called the young lady and she was rude to her as well. Money hungry facility that has mice. I don’t not recommend, don’t go there!

There were stains on carpets at the entry, once you past check-in. The dining area had chairs stacked on tables, looked like lawn furniture. The room had stains on the linens, towels, and the floor. The vending machines were out of order in the basement, I was told that I would have to cross traffic to get something to drink. There is more, but it was exhausting and not worth the money. The pictures do not match the actual building.

Signs of water damage on bathroom door and mold smell in room. Also found hair in bathtub. Breakfast was almost nonexistent. Had energy bars, oatmeal and 2 choices of cold cereal. Also some yogurt, but NO fruit, waffles or anything hot.

I don't expect a Super 8 to be that nice, but I do expect it to be clean. This place does not need to be on hotels.com. It was so dirty and smelled like smoke. We just needed a place to sleep for a few hours before an early flight and we was disturbed by loud music and a party in the parking lot from 1am until we finally left at 4am. Very disappointed in this one!

Cockroaches!!!!

There was poop in the toilet upon arrival. The towels were dirty. The air conditioner did not work. And the television wouldn't hold a signal. The refrigerator smelled awful and the Continental breakfast was cereal. With no milk provided. And constant loud noise outside of room. Did slamming all night. And the pool was not open as advertised. I would hope for at least a half refund or I will bring my business to Expedia. This is the first time I've had a problem with hotels .Com so I'm hoping this can be resolved

Don’t stay here. Microwave and refrigerator did not work. Sheets were dirty and had holes. Lightbulbs burnt out. Breakfast was stale cereal no bread for toast or pastries

For an older Super8 it was suprisingly nice and clean. 1st night was great. Second night, there were people stomping on the floor above us and when we went to complain, we couldn't find anyone to assist us. We got no sleep the entire night.

The room was ok just very old and outdated. The walls are paper thin and I could hear other peoples tv or conversations. I was in the second floor and I could hear people footsteps banging upstairs all night long. For the price it wasn’t bad but not a very restful night.

We have stayed in this Hotel before so it was shocking seeing strains on the floor and very dirty furniture other than the beds. A shopping bag keeping the shower from leaking and cigarette burns in the bathtub. The tv was suck on SAP the hairdyer and ironing noard were just laying down and not in working order. I hope this was a one bad room experience because we come to the area often It is still close to 6 Flags and the staff are so helpful and friendly.

I've come back to this hotel three times in the past week. It's very clean and I love the oversized bath tubs. Raj at the front desk is awesome.

Great service and room was very clean and nice, I left my air pods and they called me right away to come get them. Will definitely will stay there again!

My stay was really good and the stuff was very nice. Plenty of space for parking. The only thing I didn’t like is there was a lot of African-American people that were really loud very convenient gas station across from the gas station restaurants good location.

Hotel it’s in a great location is right by a port bar 😋 The staff was very nice, the room was very nice.

This hotel it’s located in the best location right across from a gas station 10 minutes walking distance from Six Flags five minutes away from the mall and two minutes to the entrance of the highway great location

Poor breakfast

We reserved 2 queen beds and received only 1 king. Staff said hotel was booked and couldn't switch to give us 2 beds. No hair dryer. Breakfast was non existent.
