I can highly recommend this hotel. It is located right by Gänsemarkt U-Bahn station, which is a huge advantage, as you tend to do a lot of walking when visiting Hamburg as a tourist. The hotel itself is modern and very well maintained. There are four elevators, which seem to be running all the time, so you never have to wait long. I stayed in a spacious 24-square-metre room with a lovely bathroom and a good walk-in shower. The bed was extremely comfortable with a great mattress topper, and I slept incredibly well. I did bring my own pillow, though, so I can’t say whether the hotel pillows are good. I’m too old to experiment with pillows! The room was also extremely quiet. The room had a kettle, a fridge and a large flat-screen TV, as well as a desk and a sofa. There was plenty of space for both luggage and clothes. The breakfast buffet was excellent and very generous, with all kinds of bread, cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurt, fresh fruit, hot dishes, tea, juices, jams and Nutella. Quite a few of the products were organic, including the butter. The only slight downside was that breakfast could get quite crowded, especially at the weekend. But that was perfectly manageable. All in all, I had a really great experience and would highly recommend this hotel.
