We loved the beach and the pool

We really enjoyed our stay, my kids were happy with the pool and the beach nearby. Breakfast is not a buffet but personalized for each person, fresh and very good and they have a variety of handmade jams that you can try and purchase. Rooms are spacious (wè were in a room with pool access). The only inconvenient for me was the no light in the common areas and pool at night but it didn't affect our enjoyment and satisfaction wirh rhe resort

Love the home-made jam choices with hot breakfast made to order. We liked the concord grape & pear jam we bought it to enjoy at home. Bedrooms and the arm chairs were super cozy. And impressed with star gazing on clear skies on the beach ... no need to drive, just 5 minute walk.

Nestled nicely in the woods with spacious rooms and well kept, clean and accessible amenities! And just a short walk to an accessible waterfront for lake swimming or use the spotless heated pool!

Beautiful building with only 10 rooms, all very comfortable, and with a wonderful shared lounge and a good sized kitchen with full fridge to share. Great for small family groups.

The room was very spacious and clean. It was convenient to take the stairs down the back deck to the pool/outside area. Nice to have a common area that has large and had great amenities. Nice to have the lake 200 m away and a food truck on site. The breakfast was great. The staff was so friendly and I love how it is made to order with nice optons. That is a great touch!

My sister and I brought my dog to this resort and had a wonderful stay! The room was clean with a very cozy feeling. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The highlight of the property is the lovely pool that we had all to ourselves because it was a weekday trip. We also loved that we could take my furbaby to the pool side instead of leaving her in the room. We could also take my furbaby to the dining room to have breakfast. So far all the hotels we visited, in the past didn't allow dogs at the dining area. Timber House Resort is super pet friendly! We enjoyed the homemade breakfast. It was very tasty and the homemade blueberry muffins were amazing! There's also a small private beach about 200 meters from the resort which is very relaxing and peaceful to spend some quality time. Lucy and her daughter who manage the resort are very friendly and helpful. We will surely come back to stay in the future!

My room was very clean, nicely decorated to make anyone feel instantly comfortable. There was lots of parking space conveniently located for everyone. The breakfast became the highlight of my stay, the food was prepared to order and was delicious with freshly baked muffins the first few days and topped off with homemade everything sourdough bagels. Many thanks to the owners and their staff for an enjoyable stay.

We loved the breakfast and property location. Bed was very comfortable, room clean and overall peaceful stay. Third floor was a bit of a hike so would request main level in the future. Only downfall but the water boiler broke but the managers were more than sympathetic and we received a solution so no fault of their own and we are pleased with the result. Will be back.

Everything was great just the grounds were not manicured or patio furniture clean and ready to use

Excellent value. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices, the place was clean but a bit tired. Really didn’t mind that. A bit weird sharing a fridge with other families as I had to move stuff in the packed fridge to get to our stuff. That means others were handling my stuff. Would definitely stay again.

A beautiful property! Enjoyed time in the lake! The rooms were clean and perfect! Highly recommend staying here. The breakfast was delicious!

Very good morning service and easy check-in/out. It's good to have the availability of a kitchen. Good breakfast but I wished that there were a lot more fruits available. Room could have been cleaner i.e. there was sand on the floor and in the drawers! Comfortable bed. Air conditioner somewhat noisy but efficient. Overall, a good stay and I recommend it.

Very tired property. Not much attention to detail. Torn bath matt, thin bally duvet, stained lamp shade, random poop bag on porch outside my slider.

The room was interesting, one of 10 off a shared kitchen and dining room. Very comfortable and convenient for preparing for day trips around the area and for relaxing upon return. The staff were very hospitable. Breakfast was very good.

Room 2, main floor across from kitchen and main lobby, in between 2 public washrooms. Negative: some dust on top of wooden bookcase. Bed needs mattress to be less concave in middle. Armchair needs cushion replacement. Screen door need replacement or repair. Sliding door at bottom needs cleaning. Armour doors need WD40 very squeaky. Ac remote control still works, but needs replacement. Bar Bath/hand soap require better quality for skin. Bar Face soap was ok. Didn’t try shampoo or lotion. Would not like this room if there was a big event as it would be too noisy and upper floors would be too heavy footed under stairs. Positive: nice and helpful staff, lovely location, delicious breakfast and had a warm and friendly, rustic, pioneer vibe.

This is a very ..unique... property. It's VERY isolated and felt more like a (very nice) summer camp than a hotel. Honestly, I felt a little scared being a solo woman on my own because it was isolated and no one was there when I arrived. It's clearly a beautiful space for a wedding reception, but a little odd for hotel. It's far from the highway and restaurants/towns which is fine as long as you expect that. The walls were EXTREMELY thin and I heard all conversations and had to put a noise machine on to try to drown out the guests up stairs that sounded like stomping elephants. Not the hotel's fault but I wouldn't recommend this for light sleepers. I didn't meet any staff as I guess they aren't really ever on site except breakfast. Sadly, I missed breakfast since I had to leave so early so can't comment on that. The jams looked great! Overall, just know what to expect. I wouldn't stay again but I clearly didn't understand what it would be like.

It was a bit worn and you could hear the plumbing and people on the stairs, the sitting area was underwhelming but overall it was good enough

It is a homey welcoming place. Needs an update all around. The staff when available were friendly and willing to do anything. The little beach is very private, clear water and relaxing! The beds were so, so and the furniture was minimal and uncomfortable in the room. We never got the correct wifi since we were give two different ones and never got on any of them. The TV’s are old and only had minimal channels. The breakfast was nice and had options! The hot water unfortunately was off but we were promptly compensated upon request. Over all it is rated at 3~

Beautiful treed setting very close to the lake…very nice rooms with a comfy bed and pillows. The owners were very accommodating and friendly and served an excellent breakfast!

Lucy couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Our rooms were lovely and the property was beautiful. So peaceful too which was an added bonus. And last but not least, our made to order breakfast was hot and delicious. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

We loved the cook to order breakfast with crisp bacon and homemade jams. The bed was comfy and the room was fine. We loved walking down to Lake Ontario and sitting on a bench to watch the gentle waves. We arrived around 8:30 and there was no one at the desk. We went right to our room, which was open. There was no key in the room so we were not able to lock the door when we left for breakfast and a walk. Perhaps leave the key for guests who arrive later? We loved the tall trees and short walk to the lake. I’m glad we stayed here!

J’ai passé 2 nuits et j’ai adoré l’environnement! C’était super relaxe et le bord de l’eau un paradis ! Les gens qui y vivent autour sont super accueillant et c’était tellement propre et bien entretenue. J’ai enlevé des étoiles pour le service…j’ai eu des voisins hyper bruyants au dessus de ma chambre jusqu’à minuit je n’arrivais pas à dormir et j’ai contacté les propriétaires mais je n’ai eu aucun service à ce niveau là … j’y étais pour le repos et j’ai eu des heures de sommeil à récupérer. Mais j’y retournerais quand même mais une chambre au dessus ! Si non je vous le recommande. Les déjeuner parfait à mon goût !!!!!!

Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Staff is very friendly and breakfasts were great. Short stroll to the beach and convenient location to explore Prince Edward County. Highly recommend this resort.

We reached the property at 8.30pm. The road is dark, the yard is dark and inside only a couple of lights. There was no one at the property and no at the front desk just 2 papers to tell us they couldnt be there and here are the keys. Anyone could have entered and used those rooms as there was no one to monitor. On top of that there were no other guests at the property. We were 3 adults and 2 kids in this big guesthouse alone in the dark middle of nowhere. It is not a hotel. We immediately felt unsafe and scared being alone there, dark and no security. We tried to call them to get some assurance but no response. We took turn going in to check the rooms as we were scared. Our 5 old was traumatized from the place. We finally decided not to stay there as it really felt unsafe and dangerous. We would be able to close our eyes even second to rest if we did. Our rooms were on the ground floor. The front door very close to the rooms and it was open for anyone to enter at anytime they wanted and there was no one else on the property. If there were an emergency we wouldnt have anyone to contact as the host was not responsive. This is definitely not a 3 star hotel. It is simply a guest house style place with limited services. Dont be fooled to book that place. The pictures and what it actually looks like are very different at night. The place felt very unsafe and unsecure. It was the start scene of typical horror movie. Not recommended at all especially if you have children.

Timber house is situated close to the lake in a quiet natural setting. The hosts were truly exceptional starting with a delicious breakfast cooked to order. I loved the carrot muffins and french toast. My car broke down in the parking lot and the host was able to connect me with the help I needed. I highly recommend Timber House for a retreat close to quaint friendly towns and nice restaurants.

Easy self check-in. Good off season prices

Beautiful setting close to town. Short walk to lake where you can walk along the beach. Comfortable beds in well appointed rooms. Great service. Delicious breakfast. I would definitely stay here again when I’m in that area.

Beautiful property to unwind and relax. Serene setting very peaceful. Very unique property with spacious accommodations. Perfect for a large family getaway.

Staff was amazing and breakfast was incredible.

What a fabulous place, excellent staff, beautiful grounds, homecooked breakfast was delicious, homeade jams and excellent coffee. Even though we live in NY 3 hours away, we will definitely come back.

Beautiful spacious room. Amazing made to order breakfast included. Great location and view. Easy check in and very friendly, accommodating staff.

Very relaxing quiet stay. We had lots of privacy and our room was very spacious. We were upgraded to the “bridal suite” at no extra charge without having to ask. Staff is friendly and accommodating and made us feel comfortable and welcome at the resort. Nice area for free breakfast in the grand hall that is used for wedding receptions. I’m sure the grounds are even more beautiful in the summer/fall as foliage just starting to grow at this time. Outside patio/pool would be very inviting when warmer. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with eggs/bacon/french toast/pancakes all made to order. The fabulous Fresh baked Pumpkin muffins to start were a nice touch while waiting for breakfast. We loved the Raspberry Lavender jam ( homemade by Lucy) so much we bought some to take home along with Pickled Beets.All the preserves/chutneys etc are homemade with wonderful unique flavour combinations. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked a third night. We would recommend Timber House Resort and will stay there again when we visit the area.

It is a unique property that allows you to use spaces other than just your room. Breakfast was amazing (try the jams!!). Slightly out of the way, but we’ll worth the drive. Stayed there twice now.
