The room was comfortable but very small. The dining room was very noisy on Saturday evening, being next to the small bar. It needs more soft furnishings to reduce the reverberation from people talking very loudly. Unusual to be given an exact time for breakfast. The signage for which entrance to use to get into the hotel is not obvious when you drive into the car park.

We had a great couple of nights here. Very convenient with a restaurant for dinner service. Breakfast was wonderful. Easy parking and friendly staff.

Booked on review recommendations and it lived up to expectations. Proper old style hotel (with a real key!) but room modern and bathroom newly renovated. Nice to have a lounge to lounge in. Food lovely, service good and views superb, especially from our sea view room.

This was for us a ‘ walk down memory lane’ our honeymoon hotel 58 years ago and not only was it still in operation, it was very welcoming. Staff were very helpful with our luggage since there was no lift. So a very pleasant and quiet stay.

Nice sea view from room Room very small. Very old outdated pine furniture needs replacing. Missing shelf in shower cubicle. Peeling wallpaper under window. No window blinds. Room so small only 2 small uncomfortable fold down chairs to sit on. No space for suitcases, had to be put on top of wardrobe. Two people could not pass in most areas of the room. Went bar in error at check-in and waited ages while bar girl served someone else and didn’t acknowledge me or direct me at all… luckily hubby found reception around the corner, there the man was helpful. Clean, comfy bed with good pillows and bedding. Room 4 (premium double sea view) quite small but everything that’s needed and absolutely beautiful view. Two chairs to put in front of window is a nice touch. Shower works fine but no shelf to put shampoo etc on so more tricky than would normally be. Fantastic evening meal and not too pricey either. Breakfast was very good. The lady brings warm plates out to diners (yes, I was wandering around looking for the them). If the fried eggs or black pudding have been under the heat lamp a bit long, just ask and fresh is provided, plus a second pot of tea. Wonderful coastal path to walk from the doorstep.

Our room had a magnificent view across the Irish Sea. We had lunch and dinner both days. Meals were lovely and staff were friendly. Would highly recommend staying there.

The staff were very helpful and courteous. The carpets throughout the hotel were in desperate need of cleaning. Our room was cold - 13 C outside and the radiator didn’t work. I was glad that they provided hot water bottles. This was in August. Most of the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Stayed for 3 nights. Staff were personable & did all they could to make my stay comfortable. I had a full sea view room & the view was amazing & calming. The room was spacious, comfortable & clean. I slept very well. Good choice of evening meals & food was delicious. Would have liked more flexibility on times of breakfast as was either 8am or 8:45am service. Also not over keen on ordering breakfast the night before for the next morning. On saying that it would not deter me from booking again…

The views from the hotel are truly stunning, and the location is excellent. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell short. Service was consistently average, both at reception and in the breakfast area. I had booked 2 rooms for 2 couples, both at the same price, but the disparity in quality was quite disappointing. While our friends received a spacious room with multiple windows, including a bay window, we were given a much smaller room with only a small window. It's hard to justify charging the same rate for two such different rooms. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but overall, the stay felt underwhelming. The staff didn’t seem particularly enthusiastic or welcoming, which added to the lackluster impression. With just a bit more attention to detail and effort, this hotel has the potential to be much better.

We stayed in the king room with sea views, absolutely beautiful,also clean and replenished daily. The shower could be better (more pressure and more heat), but not the worst. The evening food in the restaurant was great, but the breakfast wasn't fantastic, and certainly wasn't locally sourced. Great friendly staff. Hotel location is great, and only a short drive to other places of beauty, and bar/restaurants. Would definitely return.

An amazing stay in a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room was comfortable with a perfect modern bathroom. The room had a lovey view of the water which was nice to wake up. Hotel was adults only which was also perfect for us. I would recommend this hotel and can’t wait to stay here again.

Stayed for 3 nights. Staff were personable & did all they could to make my stay comfortable. I had a full sea view room & the view was amazing & calming. The room was spacious, comfortable & clean. A pleasant one night stay just outside Amlwch in a nicely situated coastal hotel. Friendly staff. Hotel was mature age but reasonably renovated. Rooms were clean and comfortable and bathroom very clean and recently upgraded. Food and service was good.

The views from the hotel are truly stunning, and the location is excellent. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell short. Service was consistently average, both at reception and in the breakfast area. I had booked 2 rooms for 2 couples, both at the same price, but the disparity in quality was quite disappointing. While our friends received a spacious room with multiple windows, including a bay window, we were given a much smaller room with only a small window. It's hard to justify charging the same rate for two such different rooms. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but overall, the stay felt underwhelming. The staff didn’t seem particularly enthusiastic or welcoming, which added to the lackluster impression. With just a bit more attention to detail and effort, this hotel has the potential to be much better.

Booked on review recommendations and it lived up to expectations. Proper old style hotel (with a real key!) but room modern and bathroom newly renovated. Nice to have a lounge to lounge in. Food lovely, service good and views superb, especially from our sea view room.

We stayed for one night. The room was lovely, overlooking the sea. The staff were lovely. The only thing I'd like to change there is the breakfast is at set times and they were too early. Also you had to vacate the room by 10am. On a Sunday morning it would have been nice to leave later. Otherwise wonderful stay.

Went bar in error at check-in and waited ages while bar girl served someone else and didn’t acknowledge me or direct me at all… luckily hubby found reception around the corner, there the man was helpful. Clean, comfy bed with good pillows and bedding. Room 4 (premium double sea view) quite small but everything that’s needed and absolutely beautiful view. Two chairs to put in front of window is a nice touch. Shower works fine but no shelf to put shampoo etc on so more tricky than would normally be. Fantastic evening meal and not too pricey either. Breakfast was very good. The lady brings warm plates out to diners (yes, I was wandering around looking for the them). If the fried eggs or black pudding have been under the heat lamp a bit long, just ask and fresh is provided, plus a second pot of tea. Wonderful coastal path to walk from the doorstep.

Our room had a magnificent view across the Irish Sea. We had lunch and dinner both days. Meals were lovely and staff were friendly. Would highly recommend staying there.

Excellet staff, efficient and friendly. Situation of the hotel is superb, with lovely views. A comforable stay, the restruant was good, food well presented, and fairly priced.

Every aspect of our stay at Trecastell was great. Our room had a wonderful sea view, as did the two dining rooms. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious. And our room was clean and comfortable. One very minor comment - in contrast with the main and 'special' menus, there wasn't much choice for vegetarians. However, the veggie food was delicious.
Every aspect of our stay at Trecastell was great. Our room had a wonderful sea view, as did the two dining rooms. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious. And our room was clean and comfortable. One very minor comment - in contrast with the main and 'special' menus, there wasn't much choice for vegetarians. We stayed in the king room with sea views, absolutely beautiful,also clean and replenished daily. The shower could be better (more pressure and more heat), but not the worst. The evening food in the restaurant was great, but the breakfast wasn't fantastic, and certainly wasn't locally sourced. Great friendly staff. Hotel location is great, and only a short drive to other places of beauty, and bar/restaurants. Would definitely return.

Nice sea view from room Room very small. Very old outdated pine furniture needs replacing. Missing shelf in shower cubicle. Peeling wallpaper under window. No window blinds. Room so small only 2 small uncomfortable fold down chairs to sit on. No space for suitcases, had to be put on top of wardrobe. Two people could not pass in most areas of the room. Table lamp shades stained. Restaurant and bar good. Reastaurant tables always clean but surfaces "sticky" and required washing over. Breakfast adequate but being self service bacon was often "hard", egg yokes solid and sausage skins hard. Fruit option would been nice? All staff very polite and freindly.

The setting is brilliant, and we had chosen it for the view, so looking out into the sea was a joy. The food was average, and the dinner I had was poor.

We were in splendid isolation, the hotel is a long way from anywhere. We had a lovely peaceful short break. The coastal, sea view from our room was beautiful. As we had the car we were able to travel around the island sightseeing and visiting our favourite Indian restaurant in Benllech. The staff in the Trecastle Hotel were great, really helpful, especially the lady serving at breakfast. However the hotel corridors could have done with a lick of paint. Oh the stairs, so steep and three floors. Thank goodness for the window the seat half way up. Overall we really did enjoy our stay at the Trecastle Hotel and we would stay there again for a short break in the future.

Beware that all bar and restaurant bills must be paid at the time, no charging to the room. There are notices about this which I didn't see. So I was surprised and embarrassed when the "manager" (I don't think he was), came knocking at the room and accused me of not paying the bill, particularly as he failed to mention this policy this when I checked in. There's no lift, and there was no offer of help with our bags. Apart from this chap though, the staff were lovely especially the local young lady who served our meal. Most of the food was surprisingly good, and the draft Robinson's was nicely kept. Some of the carpets are a bit worn but clean, and the Wi-Fi is slow to connect. Good parking. Room amenities limited to tea/coffee making & toiletries.

TV not in great position. We both banged our heads , Room 3. Otherwise excellent Breakfast- more fruit options would be better, but it was good overall. I'd move it to the larger room dinner was provided. It felt a bit closed in with only about 6-7 tables. Staff always attentive and helpful.

Although the room was on the small side it was adequate with the added bonus of a sea view. All staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of food at breakfast as well as food being served all day if required.
