Aire acondicionado dañado (lo repararon pero tardaron unas horas y perdimos tiempo de descanso), estructura muy ruidosa (segundo piso), wifi muy inestable, ropa de cama corriente, utensilios desgastados, fuerte olor a zorrillo en la madrugada (circunstancial de nuestra estancia), piscina muy sucia en las paredes pero el agua limpia, no hay cortinas para bloquear la luz por lo que el descanso se dificulta, puerta del baño sin cerradura, puerta de habitación sin cadena o picaporte para bloquearla por dentro lo que da sensación de inseguridad, parqueo es en la calle. Precio alto para la calidad de la estancia (bungalow 6) y las fotos no concuerdan con la realidad.

The bar was being updated for the upcoming season so we didn't get to enjoy it, however all else was great. Staff were always friendly and all issuess were adressed immediately. Beach was a 5 minute walk. The roads are dirt roads filled with potholes but that has nothing to do woth the property. Would def stay here again.

+ : L'endroit est bien situé, soit à 5min à pied de Playa Grande et d'une épicerie. La piscine est belle et bien entretenue. Le déjeuner est bon et l'homme à l'accueil (generalement en soirée) est vraiment souriant et tres sympathique. La literie est confortable et le lit principal est vraiment spacieux. Le logement est assez grand. Le coin est calme, nous avons apprécié, car nous aimons dormir tôt sans entendre tous les bruits de la ville. - : La femme à l'accueil ne semble vraiment pas faite pour travailler avec le public. Elle ne se lève pas pour repondre à nos questions depuis son bureau, donc on ne voit meme pas son visage... Beaucoup de petits insectes à l'intérieur, ne laissez absolument rien sur le comptoir, meme pas le temps de cuisiner. (Fourmis rouges qui entrent par le jour sous la porte principale.) It is a beautiful property and in a great location to easily walk to the beach and part of town with restaurants. Staff are very friendly and the breakfast is excellent. Only disappointment was the pool bar isn't operational at this time, but the pool is nice.

Très chouette hôtel, à 5 min à pied des commerces et de la plage. Tranquille malgré la proximité du centre ville. Belle pisicine et belles chambres. Choix d'options déjeuner intéressants. *Il n'y a pas de spa ni de service au bar.

This was a hidden Gem in the heart of Tamarindo! we stayed with our family of 6 and were put right near the game area that we all loved. plenty of space for this to feel like home. We loved our stay so much! Thank you!!!!

The staff at Hotel Luna Llena are amazing! The level of care and hospitality we received was exceptional. The property is kept immaculate. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It is quiet at night and perfect for a family vacation. I highly recommend it!

We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. The little separate round houses were quaint. The grounds were pretty and well maintained. Breakfast was wonderful and cooked right at the pool bar area

The property was definitely unique and beautiful. Service was very good if you leave small tips every day. We ran out of cash one day and the bed was not quite made up)). Quite nice breakfast but not too special. Beautiful swimming pool with a bit of insects now and then. Kitchen counters were not cleaned well enough on arrival. Matress on the bed was ok, but don’t expect Marriott quality. For 3 of us we had the whole bungalow which was fabulous, our daughter had the second floor. It looks better in real life than their pictures. Conveniently located to the beach and restaurants. Wear a hat and be prepared to cover your nose when walking to the beach - the road is very dusty.

This hotel is picture fancy. The bungalow looks nice from outside. The inside is darker and a bit old. There is a kitchenette, we didn’t use it. Upstairs space is quite small and extremely hot even with air conditioner. Downstairs bathroom has an outdated shower head which fell off the wall several times while taking shower. The good art is the staff. They are very friendly and respond to our requests quickly. The receptionists speak good English, the housekeepers and breakfast serving people don’t.

Very welcoming staff. Close to downtown Tamarindo and beach, walking distance! Room was comfortable for four of us except the beds were too hard as well as pillows. Nice place to stay.

The location is perfect: a short walk to the beach and restaurants, and yet in a quiet street with birds and monkeys in the trees. The pool is a bit odd, but eventually we got used to it. The room was very good. Breakfast good

Location is fantastic - walking distance to several beaches and most bars and restaurants but still very quiet - excellent location. Customer Service was generally fantastic (except in specific instances - see below...) - Russell is actually awesome, nice, and responsive (and speaks English fluently) - the "night guy" speaks no English and is not very attentive or helpful. The daily breakfast is filling and above-average in quality. Air conditioner worked well (my Wife likes it COLD at night, and we were able to accomplish that with the AC). Good location, clean pool, nice people around and amenities and close to the beach. However a few things would make this property better: wifi connection (dropping sometimes and not quite available in the room), darker blinds (room is so bright) and breakfast (although super basic it’s still ok, but once the coffee dispenser is empty, it’s not filled up - even if it’s within the breakfast hours). I never leave reviews but this was the best hotel! It was in walking distance to everything but just enough off the path to be peaceful and relaxing when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of town. The breakfast was cooked to order and was amazing! The room was super clean and quaint and the staff was absolutely awesome, especially Russell. We will definitely be booking here again!

The staff as soon as I arrived were very friendly. Catherine helped me arrange any activities or rides I needed. Everything is walking distance, so very convenient. I couldn’t have had a better stay.

The staff at Hotel Luna Llena are amazing! The level of care and hospitality we received was exceptional. The property is kept immaculate. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It is quiet at night and perfect for a family vacation. I highly recommend it!

Russell, the property manager, was helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was great and made to order. I requested something on the healthy side and received just that. The manager also took time away to show me the way into town. Most impressive, I saw how he diffused and prevented (obnoxious friends of a guest) from staying at the property. This quaint hotel is a well run machine with gracious and friendly staff! I look forward to staying again!

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Don’t be afraid to approach them and ask for what you need. My only area for improvement would be the water pressure in the shower could be better but still accomplished the task.

Our stay was good, but definitely not praising this place as much as others. The hotel manager was VERY nice and super helpful. The interesting thing is that when reading previous reviews, they praised the staff. That was not the case for us. We found them extremely unfriendly. There is one woman, who may be the office manager? She was almost to the point of being rude to us. The women who served breakfast made no attempt to smile or greet us. We stayed for seven days. On day 4, I requested that our sheets be changed. It didn’t happen. On day 5, I asked Russell and it did happen, but not without angry looks from the staff. I understand the language barrier, but this was different. They seemed hostile towards us, which is not something that we have experienced in Costa Rica on our many visits. This is a three star resort and we expected three star, not four or five. But…our family did book a full week with three rooms, so minimally, I would expect a smile and clean sheets. Sorry Russell! You have your work cut out for you.

It is a very cute hotel setting and there were monkeys in the trees outside the hotel. We were a bit concerned when the breakfast gal dumped a cup of coffee back in the pot. Otherwise, it was great.

This place was a little gem to stay at. The bed was fairly hard to sleep on but everything else was very clean and the amenities offered were awesome. They did offer breakfast and we did end up sick afterwards, not sure if it was just an off day but we didn’t eat the breakfast again after that.

Clean room, gorgeous pool, and an amazing daily breakfast—especially the lattes. The location is perfect: close to town and the beach, so getting around was easy. We saw at least 10 monkeys on the property every morning, which was such a fun surprise. Super cute place overall. Would absolutely come back with a group of friends and stay here again.
