Great room , pool area and location

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location! Within easy walking distance to old Key West, Mallory square, Hemingway House, cruises, great restaurants and bars. Room was nice, clean. Pool was too warm for my liking but can’t help that.

We stayed here last year also, Coffee and Muffins were provided around 6am or so. Nothing at all now. No coffee anywhere, they placed a sign stating to go get your coffee at Georgie’s for $6 once they are finally open. Elevator is not accessible for seniors to get their luggage up and down because the key for the gate was taken by the Liquor Delivery guy so he could use the elevator to lift his cases of liquor for Georgie’s. My wife and I carried the luggage for 3 elderly couples because the elevator key was missing. The sheets on the bed feel like paper. There is zero staff to greet you or answer questions. One lady asked if anybody could offer her husband the use of a wheelchair temporarily to get to their room. Nobody is there to offer any help like that. We assisted them to their room and carried their luggage up the stairs for them. We stayed this year again even though last year they offered the bare minimum but even less this year. We could not with all honesty recommend staying here anymore. Very sad. List of woodwork rotting, one hand rail near the end of the beautiful porch near the elevator is lose and possibly dangerous if someone broke thru it. It wobbles at the bottom, not solid. The parking war reduced by half in the front for Georgie’s patrons which we saw nearly no one there. Parking was miserable because of that. We will not be back.

Perfect location mere feet from Duval Street. Ample parking. A little more attention to cleaning is needed but otherwise everything was great.

Great room, clean. Good quality free laundry machine, however, had to compete with housekeeping because they also use it to wash towels. Parking is very limited. We had to move full garbage cans out of the way on the property in order to be able to park. Other than that great stay.

Check in was super easy. The pool was super fun, guest interactions were great. Bed was comfy, and clean. The property and amenities are very good. The onsite bar was closed, and the bathroom floor could have been a little cleaner but overall a great stay.

This is a pet friendly, staff free property. It is convenient to almost all tourist attractions. Excellent location in the middle of Duval street area. The roosters are your morning alarm clocks, whether you need one or not - lol. The property is charming and historic. Our room was clean and spacious. The pool was nice. There is a kitchen which is no longer in use. The property needs some TLC. Would I stay there again? Probably not. Too loud, pet friendly (Lily the barking Pitbull next door), and roosters. The rules state no dogs over 20 lbs, but when there is no staff to enforce, the owners have no idea what’s going on at their property.

Stayed in the Curry Guest House (James House) in the King Suite with the extra room and a private balcony. Perfect location just off Duval. Easy to walk everywhere. Mallory Square and everything. Hotel parking no problem. Pleasant staff. Easy check in directly to the room. Good place.

1st room carpet were horrible. I wouldnt take my shoes off. They moved us to a different room. All good till went to bathroom in middle of the night . Turned on lights and 2 roaches were crawling on the floor.Then went to take shower in the morning and a roach fell out of towel. All alive.

Hot water takes about 15minutes. A piece of napkin was on the stairway for 2 days in the main area. Carpet is filthy. Windows on room didn't close properly and made outside noises easy to hear. Had to ask for fresh towels, bedding and ice bucket liner on the 3rd day. No hand soap provided. Mattress is old with pokey springs.

This was the most terrible experience I had. The building was a beautiful one, but it was very unclean. there was hair al over the place. the shelves were all dusty. I didnt stay at the hotel the last night as there was a lizard in the room. it was also not gated, in a very busy district. So there was a homeless coming in the pool area and cursing people, and we had to call 911, as there was no reception desk and the number they gave us didn't pick up.

Great history of the property and beautiful architecture but many repairs are needed. Carpets were very dirty.

The room was rustic and lovely. But it was damp and smelled strongly of must and mildew.

What a disappointing place to stay! The location was great and the historical buildings were interesting, but the whole experience felt very cheap, far far far from the $900/night we paid. A few low-lights : the room was filthy (stained disgusting carpet, dust everywhere,…), there was no front desk to welcome the guests and parking on property was on a "first come, first served" basis, spread over 3 different locations (what an excruciating first experience with this place). Overall, this inn felt like a cheap motel, where everything is done to save money rather than build a great experience for the guests. This was very far from the "the perfect blend of charm and modern comfort" promised in the description.

Beautiful building. Bed was comfortable. Room could’ve been cleaned better. The walls are not soundproof, and the music from the local bars carried greatly till 3 AM.

It’s a beautiful room- great location and quiet! Parking is a pain in the neck. We ended up paying $70 for parking two blocks away.

Our stay was great! Close to everything within walking distance. The only complaint I have is that the water pressure was very low in the shower.

The internet is not working😩

The best part of staying here was the location. The room was large and we enjoyed the balcony. I also enjoyed the interesting trees around the property. Cleanliness could have been better- especially the bathroom. The mattresses are old and sagging.

Can't beat the location a half block from Duval Street on Caroline. Nice historical building with lots of charm. Very responsive customer support. Room layout works well. Bed was a bit soft for my taste, but it was comfortable enough. Bathroom had what you needed, but cubby hole for toilet was a bit small for a bigger guy. Only real issue was the AC. When you come back hot and sweaty after walking all over Key West the AC didn't do a good job cooling you off and making it easy to sleep. Other than that, awesome place,

Location is wonderful if you want to stay close to the Duval nightlife. Parking was not an issue as on-property lot was available. Rooms were comfortable, except Room 307 in the James House needs a new mattress as it was a bit 'saggy'. The mattress in the main Inn was nice. The amenities are lacking compared to other places which prevents this from being a 10. No breakfast, no afternoon wine or anything like that. If you're looking for anything 'extra' it's just not offered. While the staff was friendly, their availability is spotty so if you're used to a true concierge style front office be prepared to be your own as that isn't something they have in place. Note, they do add $80+ for their cleaning fee, we were billed 2 times for that since we switched rooms (added a night), so take that into consideration when budgeting as it adds up quickly. Overall, this has potential to be a GREAT property if they can just tweak the service to a more personal level. It's a beautiful home and hopefully they can bring back some of the glory that it appears it once had.

When I made the reservation I didn’t know I was not in the main mansion. I was in 307, a big corner room 👍. Shower is large but not very inviting. Pool is small but adequate. All in all, I enjoyed the property and history. Great location. I will stay there again, I visit KW twice a year.

Very convenient location adjacent to Duval Street but you do hear faint music going on all night from our room which was annoying. I turned the TV on all night to drown out the street music. But the room was very spacious, surprised we got two adjoining rooms and a Jacuzzi bathtub, although the shower pressure was pretty low. Loved the king size bed covered in white lace, bed was very comfortable. Thought it was a little too soft at first but had a hard time waking up because of how comfy the mattress was. It's a really old mansion so things are dated and you feel like you're in another century which is pretty cool for a few days.

Great location, pretty noisy on weekends

Location was excellent. We parked our car and walked everywhere. Daniela gave excellent customer service even though she was not at location. She was courteous, professional and responded quickly if you had any questions.

There was no one at the property to check us in

Never received the check in email and I checked spam filter so it was confusing doing remote check in and not being prepared. Customer service number did work and was very helpful. Beautiful old house, pool was nice, room was clean and beds comfortable.

Great location and an adequate room. If you like service this isn’t your place. Made 2 small request, 1 being another blanket and nothing. No staff on the premises.

We stayed for 3 nights beginning 12/5 and overall had a very good experience. While initially having a bit of difficulty with the on-site parking, a young man doing some painting maintenance helped us to park in the back lot even going as far as to move his own vehicle so we could unload our car and by the time we had done so, a space opened up where we were able to leave the car for the weekend. The Mansion is a beautiful property that is feeling a little tired but overall we were very comfortable there. We rented a king suite in the rear of the building. The room was clean with plenty of towels. AC worked great. TV only had one channel but we weren’t in Key West to watch TV. The pool area was nice though we didn’t use it. The front porch was lovely for morning coffee. The hotel has coffee and some food items for hefty prices so I would go to Ana’s Cuban Café around the corner in the morning for con lèche and breakfast sandwiches. The location can’t be beat as far as walkability to everything. But with that comes loud music and the occasional intoxicated people walking by at 3am yelling loudly. I was prepared for this so it was not a huge problem for me. So overall this was a positive experience for us as we loved being in the middle of all the Key West action.

Clean and accessible to everything……..BUT and I did call the phone number we given….to get an extra blanket….not having anyone on property you can speak with is bad enough, but then when you do what you are told, call the number , and still get no results it is frustrating and poor mgmt , in my opinion….there is no coffee pots in room and NONE on the property unless you want to pay $5 for a 6 ounce cup …that might sound tedious …

There is no one on property. It’s all over the app. Don’t really care for that

After checking into our room, my husband and I went to walk around and grab dinner. When we returned, our room code didn’t work. We called the number and after numerous attempts, they decided to send out a tech to open the door for us. It took over an hour and we were stuck outside getting bitten by mosquitos. The tech was nice though and he changed the battery to the lock.

The property was nice, but not exceptional. The company that makes the reservation, handles check-in and other issues was not impressive. They sent a very nice email with information about the check-in process and referred to themselves as a "team". In the email, they mention the room would be ready by 4 PM, but would let us know if the room was ready earlier. We called and let them know we were in town early, "Yes, they would call if the room would be ready earlier." They did not. When we got to the room at 3:55 PM, the code would not work. Several other couples in the pool said, "No, they will not call you even if the room is ready." The next day, a couple was by the pool around 10 AM. I noticed them later that day and asked them if they were waiting to check in and they said "Yes, just waiting for the call, since they; Brightwild, knew we were here". I informed them that Brightwild would not call and that they needed to call again They did and their room was ready. We called one night at 11:50 PM to ask about a noise restriction, the team member mentioned that there was no one at the front desk....(there is no front desk). We called about a lock being on the ice machine. The team member would check with the rest of his team and find out what is going on. I called an hour later, got another team member who knew nothing about the lock, but he would find out. After several minutes, he told me to go to another ice machine. I did, but it was also locked.

Didn't like that there was no physical presence by owners.

Very nice historical home in Key West. Walking distance to most tourist destinations, shopping, restaurants and bars.

This place is right in the heart of old town and very easy to access and get out and around to see the city. The courtyard has a pool and is very quiet.

Lovely spot close to Duval Street and all the options available in the surrounding area. Very walkable - it was a straight shot to the waterfront and the ferries. Lovely rooms, well kept. Be aware that this is a historic home. As such, there are no elevators. If you book a room on the second floor, you will carry suitcases up the stairs.

Very unique looking hotels! I felt like i was in a fairytale :) The location is perfect - 30 second walk to Duval Street and couple minutes away from the famous Sloppy Joe's! We had a great business and pleasure stay!

No staff on site, just emailed me a code to open the front door. I had to call someone to obtain the code to open my room. Window shades broken, so my room was dark and creepy. Cockroach in bathroom. Music on Duval lasted until 3:30am on Friday night, so could not sleep since this “inn” is adjacent to a popular bar. Breakfast was a granola bar and an old orange - yuck.

On arrival there was no one present to check us in, and we had to ask exiting guests to let us in, then we had to hunt for someone to check us in. They said we were supposed to have gotten an email from them, which we did not. The room was clean and comfortable, one saving grace, but the 'included breakfast' did not exist, being limited to a coffee pot and a few granola bars set outside. Pool was unheated and pretty cold. I would NEVER return to this place.

I paid a lot of money for this property. Except for the location, not as advertised. Dingy, musty in common areas. Complimentary coffee, breakfast and happy hour no longer included. No maid service. No onsite staff.

Our room was nice and the resort was convenient for walking to almost anything. We were very disappointed that the mansion is advertised as a "Bed and Breakfast" which typically includes an afternoon happy hour and breakfast which this did not.

The Amsterdam is a historic piece of Key West and so it isn’t perfect but was perfectly suitable for us and is right in the middle of the action of Duval and Caroline Street. Only complaints are the morning coffee was WEAK and watery and drinks in the evening were average at George’s. But the ambience is off the charts!

We were very pleased we had the opportunity to check in early. Upon returning to our room a couple of hours later our room code did not work. We learned we were checked in to the wrong room. We had already unpacked and it took some time to relocate to correct room. We left a message on hotel voice mail for a box of Kleenex. Not delivered. Next morning we were very disappointed with breakfast offering. Coffee served in a styrofoam cup ( not eco friendly) And breakfast was comprised of food items packaged in plastic (again not eco friendly). Later in the afternoon when we returned to our room, it had not been made up. A cleaning staff was on our floor and we were told our room would not be tidied. I did receive a box of Kleenex. Next morning the exhaust fan in our bathroom no longer was functioning.

We had stayed at Curry Mansion off and on for decades. It was wonderful, friendly, had a great breakfast and wonderful happy hour. The people who ran the place were great. We booked here again recently and my, oh my, what a difference! There was no one to check us in, no housekeeping to speak of (just a bunch of towels in the bathroom that was to last all week), bed never made. Nothing cleaned. No tissues. No cups for the bathroom. One tiny bar of soap for the 2 of us for the week. No coffee (unless you paid $5 a cup at the little bar area set up outside -- as well as breakfast for an exorbitant cost). Bar drinks were also expensive. No real human contact at all. We had lauded this place for years. No more.

Skeptical at first but the charm of this hotel calmed that. No coffee in the room and breakfast is not complimentary. I do suggest a low-cost coffee maker in the room, since the morning cafe doesn't open until 8. Some people need coffee before that. That being said, we will stay here again. Clean and close to Duval.

$5 plus tax for a cup of plain coffee and $5 for a tea bag is disrespectful to your guests. Previous owner was more personable and had simple amenities available gratis. You insult me with your text discount that did not apply to coffee. Most places offer coffee and tea as a compliment to your stay! You have become too greedy!

It was a beautiful mansion. The mattress was very old and uncomfortable. It’s very close to Duval St, so noisy at night. I can’t believe they didn’t offer coffee and tea or fresh water for the price we paid. If you wanted coffee you had to pay for it. All of the staff was very nice!
