Our room was large, clean, and had a very nice patio that overlooked a pool, small waterfall and lovely landscaping. Breakfast was delicious. They also had coffee and cake available in the afternoon. A honor system bar exists near the breakfast room. Front desk staff was helpful and kind. I would recommend these accommodations. There is street-side metered parking.

I liked this hotel. It's in a convenient location if visiting Cascais and has bikes for hire. You can park outside - paid parking, but free on a Sunday.

Muy buen hotel con una excelente relación calidad-precio en una zona como Cascais que es carísima. Las habitaciones son amplias y tienen todo lo necesario en un hotel de cuatro estrellas. No lo he calificado como excelente porque le faltan detalles para que así lo sea como amenities en el baño o enchufe suficientes como para tener conectadas las mesas de noche y poder cargar los aparatos electrónicos ( algo básico que cualquier hotel debería tener en cuenta hoy en día). Cascais es una zona donde te cobran aparcar en la calle desde las 9 de la mañana hasta las 8 o las 10 de la noche. Este hotel no tiene parking y eso es un gran pero si vas en tu propio coche. Aun así el precio compensa porque además está en una zona muy tranquila pero también muy cerca de todo lo que hay que ver en Cascais. A tan solo quince minutos de la Marina en un cómodo paseo y a cinco minutos de una buena zona de restaurantes populares.

What an amazing place most beautiful buildup with gorgeous rooms and wonderful shared areas, loved the lounge with honesty bar (and cat) and the gardens were lovely. We were in room 12 really comfortable and quiet.

A very pleasant and beautiful place. An authentic spot in the heart of Cascais — a peaceful corner of nature and beauty right in the city. The service is excellent, it’s close to the ocean, and I really like the variety of rooms. The spa being accessible is a big plus. I’ve returned more than once.

Casa Vela is in a unique setting with beautiful gardens. The breakfast area is in the main house and offers a buffet service with cold and hot options. The walk into the centre is lovely with lots of restaurants to choose from. There are two pools at the hotel, sadly these were not heated and the jacuzzi pool did not work so it was not possible to use them. Also there are building works being carried out in the area so it wasn't that peaceful. On the whole it was a pleasant stay.

For all guests, they have complimentary hot drinks and small snacks during the day. It’s very close to town (10 min walk to shops/restaurants or the rocky area overlooking the ocean) Early check-in was mentioned online, but don’t expect to get your room early. We had to wait until 4pm to get our room, but we could walk the grounds until then. The only negative thing we noticed was the pools- there was a green film building up on the sides of both and dirt at the bottom. The ducks would swim in the cooler pool during the day.

We have stayed at Casa Vela on a few occassions and never disappointed any time. It is also spotlessly clean and staff and very helpful and friendly and it is very tranquil and peaceful and very close walking distance to Cascais. Would highly recommend and cannot wait for our next stay.

The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. It was peaceful and dark for sleeping and the shower was really nice. The breakfast was delicious and the area that you eat breakfast in was gorgeous.

Excellent customer service. Wonderful, spacious, clean rooms. Hotel was in a good location, walking distance to the downtown core. Beds were comfortable and rooms are serene. Breakfast was good but the same everyday. Variety of warm options would have been nice. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great stay. The location in a quiet area within 10 min. walking distance from the city center was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the breakfast. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. Also the private airport transfer for 50€ worked well for us. Overall, nice and peaceful atmosphere. Yet, a nice place for families too. The garden is beautiful and nice to relax in and have a swim. The pool could be a bit cleaner though. Bathrobes and slippers would be a nice addition to the room amenities. Despite these little things, would definately love to stay again!

We had an amazing 3 night break at Casa Vela and would highly recommend. Excellent location - approx 10 min to walk to downtown Cascais. The studio was very clean (and cleaned every day) and private. The staff team were lovely and very helpful. We plan to return again next summer. The only minor downside was that the kitchenette had very little in the way of utensils (basic pots and pans, cutlery and sharp knives only) there were no cloths to wipe the surfaces and no condiments (salt/pepper/olive oil) Nonetheless this in no way detracted from the beautiful setting! Thank you Milene and team :-)

The hotel staff, facilities and breakfast were excellent. Pool and gardens were lovely. Our stay was let down slightly by the very dark basement room with no outlook and the noise from a nearby building site.

This place is just a piece of paradise. The garden and the common areas are amazing. Beauty and awe everywhere you look. Our room (the cheapest in the hotel) was a bit small, but convenient and very charming all the same. Convenient walking distance to the tourists area of Cascais.

Beautiful property. Friendly helpful staff. Walkable area. Neighborhood dog barks way too much for our liking, but understand hotel can do little about this. Breakfast is excellent. Coffee available 24/7. Evening cake and fruit available as well. Well groomed property. Pool looks inviting and clean, but weather too cold for us to swim. Safe neighborhood, even after dark. Bathroom set up was strange for us, with only a glass partition between bathroom and bed. Has kitchen sink, microwave, coffee machine, and a hot plate.

We booked a superior double room with balcony. The room was pleasant however had wasted space that could have been utilised for a little more storage. We were there for 5 nights and felt like we had to live out of our suitcases , a drawer for underwear etc would have been appreciated. Balcony very small and overgrown with greenery. However in a great location , spotlessly clean and lovely staff , great WiFi . Breakfast was good and the gardens are beautiful. It really was a lovely oasis and the pool was great - however no indication of depths. 10 minute walk into Cascais and all it had to offer.

The villa is beautiful with a big backyard of beautiful garden, pool and spa area. The room is large and spacious with large tub. Receptionist are friendly. This is a beautiful resort but the only con is their WiFi is bad. Can't get connection most of the time my stay there which I have to let them know about the bad connection. Finally we got the service at night after they reboot he main router. But to our dismay the Internet is down again in the morning. Since we are leaving didn't bother to complain. They could get 100% approval from us if they could have a better WiFi system.

I would return to Casa Vela in a heartbeat - it’s a beautiful boutique hotel. The grounds are stunning with lots of areas to explore. The pool is peaceful and has the right amount of sun and shade. Das Frühstück ist gut und abwechslungsreich. Die neuen (!!!) Zimmer sind hochwertig und gut gemacht und haben einen tollen Blick in den wunderschönen Garten. Leider hat uns während der ganzen Woche eine sehr laute Baustelle in direkter Nachbarschaft den Aufenthalt im Freien und auf dem Balkon verdorben… Das Servicepersonal beim Frühstück und das Personal, welches für die Reinigung der Zimmer zuständig ist, ist freundlich und auf Zack. Das Personal am Empfang wirkt planlos und gelangweilt und genervt, sobald man mit einer Frage auf die zukommt.

A great property and room; excellent breakfast. It would have been a 5 star rating except that the front desk clerk (Nono) was smug, unprofessional, and embarrassed us by saying we paid too much for the room (even though it was the hotel that partnered with the online booking service we used). An unfortunate welcome, but everything else was superb.

We enjoyed our stay. We had some concerns upon arrival with our room, and the staff had no problem changing our room the next day to what we had booked. We appreciated them acknowledging our concerns and even upgrading our room to make sure our stay was perfect:)

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Casa Vela. The garden and pools were lovely, and the in-room kitchen and bathrooms were quite functional. We had a few small dislikes/issues with this property and the staff, however, which dampen our enthusiasm to recommend it to others. 1) The pool/beach towels were not replaced unless you specifically tracked down hotel staff to replace them for you. 2) Our luggage was just left in the public hallway when we arrived early, or after checkout before we were able to return for them. 3) The AC was barely functioning, and the staff were generally reluctant to even acknowledge this issue or be helpful in resolving it. 4) the common areas and room themselves were quite dated, including with a poor wifi connection. All that said, we loved our time in Caiscais, and did not need to spend much time in the room given the ideal location and wonderful gardens on this property.

We had an amazing 3 night break at Casa Vela and would highly recommend. Excellent location - approx 10 min to walk to downtown Cascais. The studio was very clean (and cleaned every day) and private. The staff team were lovely and very helpful. We plan to return again next summer. The only minor downside was that the kitchenette had very little in the way of utensils (basic pots and pans, cutlery and sharp knives only) there were no cloths to wipe the surfaces and no condiments (salt/pepper/olive oil) Nonetheless this in no way detracted from the beautiful setting! Thank you Milene and team :-)

Casa Vela Guesthouse was a wonderful place to stay… it was beyond our expectations! The grounds and landscaping are spectacular, and it feels like a such a calm escape, yet walking distance to the historic part of town. Fabulous little hotel. All the reviews have pretty much said it all. Conveniently located just out of the main area and a simple 10-15 min walk into town. The staff were great and very helpful. Easy base to use for Sintra. We got a bolt cab for 12 euro’s. There was a great restaurant just 10 mins down the street which the staff told us about. Food was great in particular the fish dishes. We ate there 3 nights as it was so good. Would definitely return .

Muy buen hotel con una excelente relación calidad-precio en una zona como Cascais que es carísima. Las habitaciones son amplias y tienen todo lo necesario en un hotel de cuatro estrellas. No lo he calificado como excelente porque le faltan detalles para que así lo sea como amenities en el baño o enchufe suficientes como para tener conectadas las mesas de noche y poder cargar los aparatos electrónicos ( algo básico que cualquier hotel debería tener en cuenta hoy en día). Cascais es una zona donde te cobran aparcar en la calle desde las 9 de la mañana hasta las 8 o las 10 de la noche. Este hotel no tiene parking y eso es un gran pero si vas en tu propio coche. Aun así el precio compensa porque además está en una zona muy tranquila pero también muy cerca de todo lo que hay que ver en Cascais. A tan solo quince minutos de la Marina en un cómodo paseo y a cinco minutos de una buena zona de restaurantes populares.

We were visiting Casa Vela for the fourth time. The previous trips being in 2012, 2014, and 2016 as a couple. This time we brought our two boys, 8yo and 5yo. They had an absolute ball - loved their room and the two swimming pools available. The location is ideal, far enough away from the town centre to be peaceful but close enough for the boys to walk to and from the beaches. Visiting as a family showed different areas of Cascais that we weren't away of before and there was a couple of beautiful parks both 5 mins away. Each with an adventure play park. We will be definitely looking to come back again. Hopefully a lot sooner than the previous gap.

Our room was large, clean, and had a very nice patio that overlooked a pool, small waterfall and lovely landscaping. Breakfast was delicious. They also had coffee and cake available in the afternoon. A honor system bar exists near the breakfast room. Front desk staff was helpful and kind. I would recommend these accommodations. There is street-side metered parking.

Casa Vela is so beautiful, the grounds are absolutely lovely! We had a very comfortable room with a large balcony overlooking the gardens. Breakfast is an excellent buffet and coffee, tea and cake are available all day. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location is a short walk into town or to the stunning coastline.
