The Log Cabin and Settlers Village is not bad, but not that great either. The cabin is spacious with decent bed and furniture. It had a kitchen with full size refrigerator and freezer, microwave, kettle and other kitchen accessories. However, we did not use the kitchen, since it was self catering. It did not even have tea bags or instant coffee. It had a television, missing one clicker, but it worked. The bathroom was operational, with plenty of hot water and water pressure. It really is basic, i.e. no decor so down to the bare bones so to speak. The internet is only accessible in the pool area, which is a real inconvenience, especially when it is raining. And, the pool was clean, but needed maintenance, i.e. bottom was black so we didn’t swim. And, we lost power during the night (load shedding) so no air conditioning and no breakfast anywhere in town until maybe 9 am. Therefore, we left without hot coffee or breakfast. The host was pleasant, and helpful with recommendations. There is no staff around after hours… Bottomline, it is good for a one night stay when passing through Graskop but not something to consider for a long holiday. I also think it was a tad bit pricey for what you get in comparison to all the other places we have stayed at in South Africa. Again, not bad but nothing to write home about.
