We arrived earlier than check in ,our room was ready, we were taken up to our room by a lovely friendly lad,Room was very large, we went down to the bar,had a gorgeous meal,the bed was extremely comfortable and room was spotless, tea and coffee making facilities with lovely biscuits, breakfast was served between 8 and 9.30 again lovely staff,breakfast was a 10 out of 10,local produce and plenty of it .

The pub has a nice cosy feel, the food was very good. We stayed a night, the room was better than I expected, very modern and immaculate. They also looked after something I had left behind and I picked it up a week later. Very handy stop off from the A1. Very near Northallerton and a pleasant area but not much else in the village. Overall very good value and I would stay again.

We stayed for one night having spent the afternoon at Mount Grace. After enjoying an excellent meal served by very friendly staff we retired to our comfortable, clean room, where we were able to experience a good nights sleep. We were not disturbed by traffic from the adjacent road despite having the window open. Breakfast was wonderful and set us up for our onward journey.

All was good; from check in to check out. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was all very welcoming. The location is on the roadside and there was a little bit of traffic noise, but not annoying enough to prevent you from getting to sleep. The accommodation was clean and the bed was very comfortable. A great place to stay.

Great, friendly/welcoming bar/front of house staff it makes a difference. Room was comfortable with a great shower, fluffy towels and very clean. Sunday lunch and the Thai fish cakes were tasty along with a good English breakfast. Very nice area and some awesome country walks nearby, a definite return when travelling up north.

Lovely large room that was spotless. The king size bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. Breakfast was well cooked with quality ingredients. We had a meal in the pub in the evening which was also good.

Overall we had a nice stay, but there were one or two issues with the room, upon arrival the room was freezing cold, we had to contact the owner to arrange for the heating to be turned on which they did, there were no instructions for anything in the room, for example operation of the tv or lighting, we literally switched things on and off and waited for them to work, not ideal. The evening meal was of good quality, but the breakfast was a bit disappointing, very little choice and not particularly well cooked. It’s a shame we were disappointed with our stay, and we won’t be returning. One other issue was in the bathroom, the bath tub was not non slip, and no none slip mats were provided, there were also no grab rails to assist with getting in and out of the bath, not great at 67 years old and dodgy knees.

Excellent and hard working staff and owner. I enjoyed a lovely meal on the evening and then a comfortable night sleep in a modern room with all the amenities I would have wanted. Breakfast was delicious and the service again was great. Would definably recommend.

This was a lovely place to stay, you can’t walk to town but the rooms are well appointed, breakfast and dinner were very good and the staff were efficient and friendly. My only negative is the check in is 5.30pm which is late and not in line with many other establishments. 4pm would have suited us better. Overall very good enjoyable stay

This was a lovely place to stay, you can’t walk to town but the rooms are well appointed, breakfast and dinner were very good and the staff were efficient and friendly. What a gem of a hotel - lovely staff and rooms. The dinner menu is extensive and includes traditional and the unusual. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was good too. The hotel is a good base for visiting local places of interest - Thirsk, Ripon and Bedale.It is also excellent value. We will definitely be staying again.

An excellent Inn. Ron and all staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is excellent. Good choice and reasonable. Even local ( guy in Crocs) took time to map out a scenic drive for us. Hope to return.

Overall we had a nice stay, but there were one or two issues with the room, upon arrival the room was freezing cold, we had to contact the owner to arrange for the heating to be turned on which they did, there were no instructions for anything in the room, for example operation of the tv or lighting, we literally switched things on and off and waited for them to work, not ideal. The evening meal was of good quality, but the breakfast was a bit disappointing, very little choice and not particularly well cooked. It’s a shame we were disappointed with our stay, and we won’t be returning. One other issue was in the bathroom, the bath tub was not non slip, and no none slip mats were provided, there were also no grab rails to assist with getting in and out of the bath, not great at 67 years old and dodgy knees.

We arrived earlier than check in ,our room was ready, we were taken up to our room by a lovely friendly lad,Room was very large, we went down to the bar,had a gorgeous meal,the bed was extremely comfortable and room was spotless, tea and coffee making facilities with lovely biscuits, breakfast was served between 8 and 9.30 again lovely staff,breakfast was a 10 out of 10,local produce and plenty of it .

Great, friendly/welcoming bar/front of house staff it makes a difference. Room was comfortable with a great shower, fluffy towels and very clean. Sunday lunch and the Thai fish cakes were tasty along with a good English breakfast. Very nice area and some awesome country walks nearby, a definite return when travelling up north.

Warm welcome from Patrick - showed us to our room - nice room/bathroom clean comfort etc fresh milk instead of UHT which is nice to see Had a lovely evening meal food wonderful - only Negative was portion size on my pudding was tiny for the £6.95 price lemon cake with lemon sorbet but otherwise food was excellent - again friendly and polite service Breakfast was excellent also continental and cooked included . We will definitely stay again - Thank you Patrick for your hospitality and making us feel so welcome

What a lovely inn! Our room was big and bright and we popped open a window for a little breeze while sleeping. The bathroom was recently redone and very nice. All the meals, including take away sandwiches for lunch, were fabulous and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful! Highly recommend!

Comfortable bed, good pillows and bedlinen. Excellent food, and superb staff who went out of their way to ensure our overnight stay was as good as could be. Northallerton is within easy reach as are the Dales and North Yorks Moors. We could not have had a better stay and would thoroughly recommend the Wellington Heifer.
