The hotel was clean,staff very helpful,few steps to the pebble beach/bring water shoes.Place very peaceful and secluded,but you could take free shuttle to busy Fira.Nice,big pool.You can have full breakfast at the hotel ,very convenient. In the evening the dinner was served by the pool, Ana is very good cook!

Delizioso hotel a conduzione familiare, in zona un po’ defilata non lontana da Fira, tranquillo, pulito con una bella piscina e un comodissimo servizio trasporto gratuito per il centro di Fira e ritorno ogni 3 ore fino le 23:30 che è indispensabile se non si ha un mezzo proprio (auto, quad o scooter). Gestione gentile, premurosa. Colazioni a pagamento forse da ottimizzare nel menù. A bordo piscina si può anche ordinare uno snack, un drink o mangiare scegliendo da un ricco menù. Prezzi onestissimi per Santorini. A 100 mt dal mare con spiaggia libera e anche un lounge-bar simil-chic con lettini e ombrelloni (estremamente oneroso).

Très bon hôtel, il est simple mais efficace. Un peu éloigné des villes avec de la vie mais l’hôtel fourni plusieurs navettes gratuites par jour (de l’hôtel vers Fira et de Fira vers l’hôtel) Il est également possible de se faire amener dans le centre en dehors des horaires de navettes moyennant un coût supplémentaire. L’hôtel propose aussi de nombreux services : location de moyens de transports, excursions, taxi…. Il y a une jolie plage juste en bas et un super resto pour les adeptes de la cuisine de la mer. La piscine est très bien aussi. Je conseille cet hôtel pour ce qui veulent être plus au calme en fin de journée sans l’agitation de la foule.

Porto Castello is a very pretty hotel in a tiny town on Santorini, about 4-6 km from Fira, the main town on Santorini. No elevator. Clean, well kept rooms with balconies. 5 different breakfast types available, paid daily per person. Saltwater pool. Free shuttle with drop off just outside Fira runs about every 3 hours from 8:30 am to 11:30 pm. Can arrange airport or port transportation. Staff were wonderful! When we arrived, they couldn't initially find our reservation booked through Expedia, but then discovered that our reservation started the following day. I had the printout from our reservation, and it was our error, not the hotel's. They quickly found us a room for the extra day and even got us into the room early as we had arrived early in the day from the port. I cannot thank them enough for their assistance in this situation. Town is very small with very narrow streets, so parking would be difficult. Walk to small beach. Only one or two restaurants in town, so you need to either plan to eat in Fira, the main town, or order delivery from a restaurant in town that they have a menu for. Roads on Santorini are very narrow, with lots of curves and steep drops, so you couldn't easily walk from hotel to anywhere else.

Located in a secluded and quiet area around 10 min from Fira city centre, they offer a free of charge transportation every 3 hours which is convenient. The rooms are modest but well equipped with A/C and mini fridge. Sheets and towels are changed every two days and the overall cleaning is spotless! Not sure if it is a thing in Greece but found weird have to hold the shower over my head. The breakfast runs from 8-12 and you will have few different and basic set menu to choose for. I picked the ‘Healthy’ and everything tasted very fresh everyday. The lady who helped me had a contagious and genuine smile even when they were busy! efcharistó! The pool restaurant opens at 4pm in case you don’t want to got back to town they have a tasty and adaptable menu. However if you are planning to spend the day at the hotel you could buy drinks and few snacks at the reception but there are no shops around so be prepared if you like snacking. As my flight was late, after checking out I could spend the day at the pool, have a shower and dinner before heading to the airport and it was really handy. I paid €25 for airport transfer and it takes only 10 minutes from the hotel. Overall I enjoyed very much my staying at Porto Castello and would recommend it for sure!

Heerlijke accomodatie, rustig gelegen, met een zoutwater zwembad. Kamer schoon en verzorgd.Op loopafstand van het strand. De shuttlebus gaat op geregelde tijden naar Fira. Of een auto huren. Geen restaurant of terras op loopafstand, maar dat is de keuze die je maakt.

It was good for the price. It has shuttle to the airport and port but it has an additional cost.

Nice clean property. Some flights to Santorini arrive at 2am and this property has a paid shuttle to the airport and a 24 hour concierge which is very nice.

Stayed 10 nights, there’s a free shuttle bus into Fira 5 times a day which is awesome. The staff are extremely friendly and are always there to help. Really enjoyed our stay

We just stopped for for one night because we had a late arrival and it offered a reasonably priced shuttle. But now we want to go back and stay for longer! Quaint old fashioned hotel like stepping back in time but everything spotless so quiet if you don’t mind cats and wood pigeons. Can’t wait to return

The staff at Porto Castello was excellent and very friendly and helpful. It’s a small hotel but was clean and provided everything we needed. The free shuttle service to and from Fira was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again. If quaint cozy and comfortable is what you’re looking for this is it… very budget friendly as well!!

Chambre convenable malgré un petit lit pour 2, néanmoins l’espace salle de bain est clairement à revoir… ce n’était pas très propre, pas d’eau chaude et équipement obsolète. Balcon petit mais agréable. Rapport qualité prix correct mais il y a largement mieux pour le même pris voir moins chère.

The hotel is decent , nice and clean. Washroom was too small and the bath area can be improved a lot . It is very far from the main attraction and the city centre , so bear this in mind while booking . Travelling to and fro from the hotel definitely needs a cab or your own vehicle . for solo and budget travellers , who are planning to commute to -fro from hotel to bus stop or city centre -- please note it is not possible to walk

L’hôtel est très propre, Cindy est super accueillante, il y a des navettes pour aller dans le centre-ville ce qui n’est pas négligeable ! Je recommande et reviendrai ! Merci beaucoup

Stayed here overnight during a layover. Staff was super friendly and nice. Shuttle to ferry port/airport is very convenient. Unfortunately, our room reeked of cigarette smoke which I found to be overwhelming.

Posto accogliente, tranquillo, riservato e tranquillo. La camera era forse un po’ piccola, non c’è un parcheggio riservato e mancava l’ascensore. Per il resto più che soddisfatto, anche del personale e della pulizia. Si ricorda che è una condizione familiare come ce ne sono poche al mondo e bisogna quindi accontentarsi. Ho trascorso una settimana qui e sinceramente mi sono trovato bene pur essendo la prima volta che visitavo Santorini.

Etablissement loin du centre de Fira sans transport en commun à proximité, nuits très bruyantes locaux mal insonorisés, petit déjeuner servi qu'à partir de 8 h 00 voir 8 h 15, la navette partant à 8 h 30 vous n'avez pas le temps de déjeuner. Peu de navette dans la journée 8 h 30 ou 11 h 30...

Calm & tranquil hotel with a pool, and one minute walk to the sea. Quiet & peaceful, away from all the madness. There's a free shuttle service to/from Fira every three hours. There are various breakfasts served untill 12pm. You can also order from a take away menu for lunch and dinner. Cindy and George are lovely. The only negative for me was smoking is allowed in the rooms..

We truly enjoyed our stay at this charming, peaceful hotel tucked away in a quiet part of the island. From the very beginning, Cindy — who manages the place so effortlessly — went above and beyond for us. Before we even arrived, she arranged a late-night airport transfer after our flight was delayed, ensuring that our family (including the kids) felt safe and well cared for upon landing in a place we’d never visited before. Her communication was fast, clear, and friendly, and she impressed us with her ability to speak fluently in English, French, Greek..etc. Cindy’s husband was equally warm and always seemed to have a solution for anything we needed. The rest of the team was just as delightful — from the lovely lady who served us by the pool to Sawas, the chef, who was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding and definitely worth recommending. The location was ideal for relaxation, with a serene beach, the picturesque Exo Gialos Harbour, and a beautiful traditional chapel right next to the hotel. Being on the east side of the island also meant we could enjoy the spectacular Santorini sunrise every morning. For those who like a livelier scene, the hotel runs a free shuttle service to Fira several times a day until around midnight — a brilliant touch. A huge thank you to Cindy and the entire team for making our stay so special. We’d gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet, friendly, and well-run base in Santorini.

The family who runs the hotel is welcoming and available 24 hours. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the bus transportation depot that takes you to the famous town of Oia to watch the sunset. The only concern is that you have to follow the hotel shuttle schedule that runs every three hours, requiring that you plan accordingly since it is a distance from Fira which is not walking distance.

Quiet, near beach

La proximité de l'hôtel par rapport aux points de L'île est très agréable, ainsi que la piscine !

I had a pleasure to stay in Porto Castello September 18-21. In my opinion : good location , near the beach , good size swimming pool, spacious facilities in comparison with Fira’s accommodations , peaceful and quiet place. We could hear the sea waves from our balcony at night. We love the free transportation to and from the hotel to Fira daily. I highly recommend this hotel.

Buon prezzo, bello che mettano a disposizione le navette fino a fira ma se uno vuole uscire la sera deve andare alle 8 e tornare alle 11 non ha altre opzioni se non i suoi piedi! Personale non molto disponibile e cordiale. Non fate la colazione, veramente uno spreco di soldi inutile. Vi consiglio il bar vicino l'hotel per le sue serate quando ci sono eventi ma prezzi veramente troppo altri.
