Lovely one night stay. Unfortunately had a call 10 minutes before we arrived to say the jacuzzi had broken down & would be out of use. We had a 3 coarse meal that was absolutely amazing! Complements to the chef! Only down side - we thought drinks were over priced at £12 for a large glass of wine.

My daughter and I enjoyed our spa weekend. We received a very warm welcome including a map and instructions to find our way around. The staff were very pleasant. The grounds are lovely and the ambience was relaxing with everyone walking around in their robes. Our room was spotless with a lovely big shower room and we loved the luxurious toiletries supplied, they smelt wonderful. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice, tho' the queue was a bit slow for hot food as only one person was serving. We got up early Sunday morning for a swim, had breakfast then we had the Relaxation Room to ourselves, a complete winner. Some of the Spa area facilities were not working properly. The sauna did not get very hot, the salt room wasn't very salty and the cold plunge pool was empty Sunday morning. The Spa area is rather dull with grey walls and black loungers, some decorative changes could improve the ambience here, it doesn't scream luxury. Fortunately the weather was good so we tended to use the loungers outside. A few loungers dotted around the grounds would be nice for a bit of quiet contemplation or reading. One small off putting note, was the little signs everywhere, to 'not take hotel belongings home'! Overall we did enjoy our stay and would recommend this hotel.

Great spa facilities. Quiet lication to catch up with rest and also the building was not noisy in the bed areas. Loved the policy to be able to breakfast in the hotel dressing gowns or one's sports wear.The gardens made it for us. Very botanical with lots to spot and history. Great walks just beyond the gardens if you wish to walk off the calories! Dinner menu wasn't great so we ate out each night, including one at the very good Bangladeshi/Indian restaurant in the village. Breakfast was ample with choices but created a lot of guest movement to the counter area. Providing trays may help abate this, perhaps? One downside still to be resolved is the alcohol order on our tab at checkout, that we had never ordered. Otherwise would return for the spa facilities, informality and gardens in a different season.

Imogen was brilliant before we arrived arranging everything to cater for my mobility issues. Check in was challenging but once we got to the room things improved. Bar was nice but has a limited food menu after 3 and no food after 6 so make sure you book for dinner. Dinner was lovely. Varied menu and excellent food. No air con in the rooms just a very loud desk fan. Had a facial which was lovely. Spa is nice but fairly small and is packed during the day when the day guests are there.

The hotel is massively let down by the size and facilities in the spa. One small hydrotherapy pool and a medium size (very cold) main pool with a couple of thermal rooms and ridiculously uncomfortable loungers is not what a ‘destination spa’ is. The lack of air conditioning in the bedroom meant I barely slept as it was so warm. A tiny fan was provided which was completely ineffective. The tea and coffee tray offerings were awful. Sticks of Nescafé original? With the room rates being as they are I would expect a better quality offering. The garden room was very tired looking and cheaply furnished. I have had better and more comfortable rooms at Holiday Inns. Housekeeping were banging on the door at 11am when I had paid for a late check out. The hot food at breakfast was of very good quality and well cooked. There were hardly any of the listed cold foods at the buffet such as the Bircher muesli. The waitress I asked did not even know what Bircher muesli was when I asked where it was. She offered me a sachet of dry muesli. There was a bowl of prunes, oddly large lumps of feta cheese and some cheap sliced ham. The coffee machine at breakfast produced an undrinkable americano. My massage was absolutely amazing. The therapist was incredibly skilled and it was worth every penny. Towels and robes were fluffy and plentiful. A very mixed place with some aspects good and some really very poor.

The room and food were very good, as were the staff, but everywhere was very cold. The swimming pool was stark, utilitarian and lacked any atmosphere. Walking around the hotel, I was reminded of a student's halls of residence. If you want a specific spa treatement, then it would be great, but if you want somewhere to relax and enjoy a swim, I wouldn't recommend it

If you are keen on experiencing one of the below, by all means do book to stay here: - stone cold room upon arrival - attempts to sneak into the bill receipts and amounts that you haven't authorised - - old stale bread at dinner (from the menu) - overcrowded below average and filthy spa facilities - fabricated late check-out charge to get more money out of you (please note that even if you want to check out on time you won't be able to do so as the queue is absurdly long) - 2 hour wait to get your main and have dinner at 11pm - excellent surroundings & gorgeous gardens - tasty food - unnecessary Draconian rules We certainly won't be coming back as our idea of a relaxing spa break is very different from the above. The gardens are wonderful but the hotel itself is overpriced and unsatisfactory.

Booked in at last minute to escape to the seaside during the heatwave and what a surprise. Beautiful gardens, spacious clean room, nice bar and restaurant. Worth a stay in its own right later this year

The hotel and spa was not what I expected . In arrival I was asked to make payment when I said I have already paid … the guy at reception says “well it says here I need to take payment” I got up my online banking to prove payment had been made. This started it all off quite badly . We then made our way to our room that was very basic and there was chewing gum down the toilet and the toil base was stained. Service at the bar was terrible , we ordered drinks and was told they would brought over to us. We sat and witnessed a big group make an order and receive their drinks before ours also two other couples . I had to go to bar and point this out to get our drinks. I was told that the delay had been because they had no milk and need to get this. Yet no one thought to mention this. We went out to a local pub for dinner and had an amazing meal thankfully we did go out because the pub made my weekend. Breakfast was nice and well organised at the hotel. I have stayed and plenty better places than this for a fraction of the price and wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Clean room and spa, nice staff bar and reception, beautiful gardens. Was booked last minute as we were unable to travel home and stayed the next day for the spa. Would 100% come again :)

Hotel was really nice and we had a great time. - None of the hotel is air-conditioned. We stayed on a really hot weekend and everywhere including our room was absolutely baking! - Spa was great although not really big enough for the size of the hotel, given that everyone is there to use it. - The quality of the food in the restaurant was great but the service was really slow for most of the time we were there. Most of the staff were pretty young and so we put it down to inexperience. Overall we had a great time, although it lacks many of the finishing touches both in terms of the quality of the hotel and the service that would make it quite worth what it costs to stay there.

Didn’t like no storage in the bedroom. Only 6 hangers for two of us. Also the menu was too fancy for us so we couldn’t eat there as nothing plain for us and we would have loved to chill in the restaurant and bar area without having to drive out for dinner each evening. Staff were amazing as are the grounds.

The hotel is massively let down by the size and facilities in the spa. One small hydrotherapy pool and a medium size (very cold) main pool with a couple of thermal rooms and ridiculously uncomfortable loungers is not what a ‘destination spa’ is. The lack of air conditioning in the bedroom meant I barely slept as it was so warm. A tiny fan was provided which was completely ineffective. The tea and coffee tray offerings were awful. Sticks of Nescafé original? With the room rates being as they are I would expect a better quality offering. The garden room was very tired looking and cheaply furnished. I have had better and more comfortable rooms at Holiday Inns. Housekeeping were banging on the door at 11am when I had paid for a late check out. The hot food at breakfast was of very good quality and well cooked. There were hardly any of the listed cold foods at the buffet such as the Bircher muesli. The waitress I asked did not even know what Bircher muesli was when I asked where it was. She offered me a sachet of dry muesli. There was a bowl of prunes, oddly large lumps of feta cheese and some cheap sliced ham. The coffee machine at breakfast produced an undrinkable americano. My massage was absolutely amazing. The therapist was incredibly skilled and it was worth every penny. Towels and robes were fluffy and plentiful. A very mixed place with some aspects good and some really very poor.

The room and food were very good, as were the staff, but everywhere was very cold. The swimming pool was stark, utilitarian and lacked any atmosphere. Walking around the hotel, I was reminded of a student's halls of residence. If you want a specific spa treatement, then it would be great, but if you want somewhere to relax and enjoy a swim, I wouldn't recommend it

If you are keen on experiencing one of the below, by all means do book to stay here: - stone cold room upon arrival - attempts to sneak into the bill receipts and amounts that you haven't authorised - - old stale bread at dinner (from the menu) - overcrowded below average and filthy spa facilities - fabricated late check-out charge to get more money out of you (please note that even if you want to check out on time you won't be able to do so as the queue is absurdly long) - 2 hour wait to get your main and have dinner at 11pm - excellent surroundings & gorgeous gardens - tasty food - unnecessary Draconian rules We certainly won't be coming back as our idea of a relaxing spa break is very different from the above. The gardens are wonderful but the hotel itself is overpriced and unsatisfactory.

We had a lovely stay, only criticism is we didn't like the evening meal menu and had to order room service, would have been good if we could have ordered the burger and chips in the bar area and have a drink at the same time. The staff were brilliant and really friendly. Overall a lovely stay.

The hotel and spa was not what I expected . In arrival I was asked to make payment when I said I have already paid … the guy at reception says “well it says here I need to take payment” I got up my online banking to prove payment had been made. This started it all off quite badly . We then made our way to our room that was very basic and there was chewing gum down the toilet and the toil base was stained. Service at the bar was terrible , we ordered drinks and was told they would brought over to us. We sat and witnessed a big group make an order and receive their drinks before ours also two other couples . I had to go to bar and point this out to get our drinks. I was told that the delay had been because they had no milk and need to get this. Yet no one thought to mention this. We went out to a local pub for dinner and had an amazing meal thankfully we did go out because the pub made my weekend. Breakfast was nice and well organised at the hotel. I have stayed and plenty better places than this for a fraction of the price and wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Great walks just beyond the gardens if you wish to walk off the calories! Dinner menu wasn't great so we ate out each night, including one at the very good Bangladeshi/Indian restaurant in the village. Breakfast was ample with choices but created a lot of guest movement to the counter area. Providing trays may help abate this, perhaps? One downside still to be resolved is the alcohol order on our tab at checkout, that we had never ordered. Otherwise would return for the spa facilities, informality and gardens in a different season.

The stay was very pleasant, the grounds were a massive highlight but there were a couple of things that were not up to standard. Firstly, every single member of staff was smiley and nice but there knowledge of the hotel was not up to standard… every single member of staff from the waiters, reception, spa therapist had poor knowledge of the hotel and it’s facilities. For example the receptionist tried to upsell an room upgrade to us but didn’t have a clue on the rooms specifications… the spa therapist hadn’t a clue on the spa operating times(although very easy to find out but nonetheless they still hadn’t a clue) and the restaurant staff were honestly very clueless. The food was just appalling- everything was served with chips or sweet potato fries- with those prices you expect something more refined and upmarket not pub food that has everything with chips. Also considering it’s a spa the food should be a little healthier. The rooms were absolutely roasting- they did provide us with a fan but it would have been better if we could open our door on a latch but the door wasn’t capable of doing so, so we were very hot and had to leave the door open in an attempt that no wildlife would enter our room. Finally- we had already prepaid for this trip and upon our check out the receptionist gave us a bill not knowing we had already paid for the trip- but this just brings me back to the first point that staff have very limited training and are very clueless.

Imogen was brilliant before we arrived arranging everything to cater for my mobility issues. Check in was challenging but once we got to the room things improved. Bar was nice but has a limited food menu after 3 and no food after 6 so make sure you book for dinner. Dinner was lovely. Varied menu and excellent food. No air con in the rooms just a very loud desk fan. Had a facial which was lovely. Spa is nice but fairly small and is packed during the day when the day guests are there.

We had a wonderful stay. From the moment we checked in the staff were very accommodating. Our room was perfect for what we needed. We enjoyed a couples massage at the spa which was superb. We then relaxed with room service. A wonderful stay and will definitely return.

We both had a fabulous time. Loved the pool area. The gardens are beautiful- will have to return in the Summer next time. We only ate breakfast there but there was plenty of choice.

Lovely one night stay. Unfortunately had a call 10 minutes before we arrived to say the jacuzzi had broken down & would be out of use. We had a 3 coarse meal that was absolutely amazing! Complements to the chef! Only down side - we thought drinks were over priced at £12 for a large glass of wine.

The property is in poor condition and in need of a refurb. The cleanliness also wasn’t great. There were water marks in the bathroom shower and sink and the shower tray was grey. The salt sauna ceiling - one of the ceiling panels is falling off. Also a lot of brown grime around a lot of the pool amenities and jacuzzi. Overall poor condition and areas neglected which can be bad for safety.
