Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Staff were lovely. Friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was very clean, well appointed and cosy. Bed was comfortable. Bar / restaurant offered excellent food and drinks both in the evening and next morning for breakfast. Continental Breakfast included in the price was more than sufficient for our needs. Hopefully we'll get another opportunity to stay there.

A lovely old countryside Inn which has been modernised to an excellent standard whilst maintaining the old features The bedrooms are of a good size with comfy beds and stylish ensuite with powerful shower The room we stayed in also had the added benefit of air conditioning which was welcoming indeed with the ouyside temps being over 30^c Food service and all staff were excellent and all in all we found The Star to be a great place to stay

We stayed for one night after our spa day at Ragdale hall in this lovely traditional hotel/pub in the charming little village. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless. We reserved a table in the restaurant and enjoyed a lovely meal and the included continental breakfast the next morning. Very accommodating host, thank you. Would highly recommend!

Was very quiet too and got an excellent nights sleep.The bar was great for a late night drink before bed, staff were very helpful and friendly. A lovely room - with comfortable bed & clean, modern bathroom. Radiator worked well to warm it up - but slightly difficult to manage temperature as it seemed to only be on or off despite having a thermostat. Excellent dinner in restaurant with a huge fish & chip portions

Excellent stay with a spotless room that’s so comfortable. Food good both dinner and breakfast. One issue was the Hotel.com description was misleading. The details said the price included breakfast. It only included a continental breakfast and we had to pay extra for English breakfast. A small point but a cost not accounted for. Please amend your advert.

Our stay was great. The only disappointment was the shower. It wasn't very powerful and the temperature was unreliable. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was very good so it wasn't necessary to order additional cooked items.

The rooms were a good size and very quiet and comfortable. The only niggle was that the bath smelled I think there was a drainage issue and the shower head was dirty. However the bathroom overall was clean. We stopped on our was back from a spa and had dinner downstairs, food was good quality and tasty although portions were huge! Breakfast was great too!

As part of the booking breakfast was included but they need to be clearer that it’s only continental breakfast that’s not included as I had to pay for a full breakdown. My room was quite tight and very difficult to use desk as there was little to no room under the desk due to the fridge

A very nicely appointed country inn with plush furnishings and comfortable spacious room. Breakfast was excellent. It was sometimes not easy to track down staff, for instance at breakfast and when checking out.

Couple of small tweaks would have made this stay perfect! Unfortunately, the service for dinner was incredibly slow, we waited an hour for our main courses. There was mould on the bread at breakfast and no sugar or sauces to go with our cooked breakfast. A little strange that you have to pay for a cooked breakfast but it tasted good. The room was a good size it was clean and the beds comfortable, enjoyed having air con in our bedroom. unfortunately the bath didn’t drain very well. Overall a good stay but a small tweaks would have made this perfect.

Our stay was great. The only disappointment was the shower. It wasn't very powerful and the temperature was unreliable. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was very good so it wasn't necessary to order additional cooked items.

Really nice pub in the centre of the village, staff were friendly and happy to help, room was very nice and comfortable bed etc and the food in the restaurant was lovely. Only spoiled by really by local clientele in the bar area being loud, vulgar, misogynistic and racist laughing loudly over such jokes and old enough to know better. I’m no prude and travel widely but just no need in such a nice bar.

A lovely old countryside Inn which has been modernised to an excellent standard whilst maintaining the old features The bedrooms are of a good size with comfy beds and stylish ensuite with powerful shower The room we stayed in also had the added benefit of air conditioning which was welcoming indeed with the ouyside temps being over 30^c Food service and all staff were excellent and all in all we found The Star to be a great place to stay

We stayed for one night after our spa day at Ragdale hall in this lovely traditional hotel/pub in the charming little village. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless. We reserved a table in the restaurant and enjoyed a lovely meal and the included continental breakfast the next morning. Very accommodating host, thank you. Would highly recommend!

Really lovely place in beautiful location. Room was fabulous, very clean and comfortable. Was very quiet too and got an excellent nights sleep.The bar was great for a late night drink before bed, staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent ( cooked options not included in price) the only negative was there was no gluten free option. Would definitely stay again.

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Staff were lovely. Friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was very clean, well appointed and cosy. Bed was comfortable. Bar / restaurant offered excellent food and drinks both in the evening and next morning for breakfast. Continental Breakfast included in the price was more than sufficient for our needs. Hopefully we'll get another opportunity to stay there.

Excellent stay with a spotless room that’s so comfortable. Food good both dinner and breakfast. One issue was the Hotel.com description was misleading. The details said the price included breakfast. It only included a continental breakfast and we had to pay extra for English breakfast. A small point but a cost not accounted for. Please amend your advert.

As part of the booking breakfast was included but they need to be clearer that it’s only continental breakfast that’s not included as I had to pay for a full breakdown. My room was quite tight and very difficult to use desk as there was little to no room under the desk due to the fridge

Couple of small tweaks would have made this stay perfect! Unfortunately, the service for dinner was incredibly slow, we waited an hour for our main courses. There was mould on the bread at breakfast and no sugar or sauces to go with our cooked breakfast. A little strange that you have to pay for a cooked breakfast but it tasted good. The room was a good size it was clean and the beds comfortable, enjoyed having air con in our bedroom. unfortunately the bath didn’t drain very well. A very pleasant stay. Check was easy and all the staff helpful. Room was clean and comfortable, fridge was very useful for fresh milk for tea/coffee. Very nice to have a bath and a shower too. Parking available and wifi connection was reliable. Very good ales in the pub. Only minor quibble was over breakfast. On the booking site it stated free breakfast, but on arrival we were told this was only the continental option and cooked items were extra. Perhaps this be clear on the booking site?

The rooms were a good size and very quiet and comfortable. The only niggle was that the bath smelled I think there was a drainage issue and the shower head was dirty. However the bathroom overall was clean. We stopped on our was back from a spa and had dinner downstairs, food was good quality and tasty although portions were huge! Breakfast was great too!

A lovely room - with comfortable bed & clean, modern bathroom. Radiator worked well to warm it up - but slightly difficult to manage temperature as it seemed to only be on or off despite having a thermostat. Excellent dinner in restaurant with a huge fish & chip portions

Overnight Stay Check in swift & room ready with aircon already on (@34° it was more than welcome). Pleasant staff & ambience in bar/restaurant area. Food choice excellent, freshly prepared, tasty & gluten free options good. Slept well and beds comfy. Breakfast was again varied and well cooked. Tony you're a fab chef!! Will definitely revisit

The new landlady was the best!, genuinely caring and helpfull as were all the staff and locals. She even gave me a nice little goodbye this morning. She did everthing she could for a lady that broke down in her car last night

Room was fine, stayed in the middle of a heatwave and the AC in the room worked a treat. No gluten free options could be accommodated at breakfast so I went elsewhere.
