Appalling check-in experience - rude man at front desk tried to suggest it was my fault the hotel had failed to upgrade my rooms to upstairs. Disgracefully deceptive - DO NOT BOOK the ocean view rooms and expect to see the ocean. If you book the premium rooms, you receive confirmation that your room is in the ground floor from where you CANNOT see the ocean, only parked cars. The hotel charges an additional 90 euros for a room from which you have an ocean room. Dishonest ! I have been touring Europe for the past 11 years and I have never been spoken to so rudely at check in. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

The bathroom was poorly laid out, you had to take care getting out of the shower as glass door opened straight onto the sink. Clean throughout hotel. Buffet breakfast had a great selection. Aircon was not functioning properly

Hotel is situated on the road opposite the access to the beach and beach bars. Tourist information next door where we used bikes for the day for free biking into Ovar. Short stroll to get on the beautiful white sandy beaches. Breakfast buffet, few (luke) warm options, fruit, breads, cereal's, cakes etc, . Spa and pool is extra to use (€12) and only get 3 coffee pods in the room (no kettle), any more have to pay for, not even topped up daily when staying for more than one night. Limited parking at the front of hotel, but big public car park only a few meters away. Currently essential work being carried out to the sea defence after a storm in January, so do expected noise and view of the digger at night parked up, whilst work is carried out. Room nice, very comfy bed. Felt for a spa hotel. Little touches of body lotion in the room would be nice touch and welcome biscuit or cookie (had both in hotel in Aveiro, which is worth a visit 😉) Visit Ovar, Aveiro (Venice of Portugal), Costa Nova/Piara da Barra, Vagela (tiles church), Santa de Marie Ferra (Castle) and Douoro Valley.

Nice hôtel especially the room on the ocean side. Breakfast is good too. Only drawback you have to pay an extra for the pool
