We stayed 5 nights at Barclay Motor Inn. The rooms were very clean, with comfortable bed and extra pillows provided. Our unit was on ground level, with free parking for your vehicle right outside your door, (most of them are at this business) which made moving suitcases in and out very easy. There is a heated covered pool, which my husband used...and loved. Well provided coffee, tea and sugar; with rooms serviced on a daily basis. Laundromat is provided, and you will require coins to operate them. There is a small bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster which comes in handy when preparing breakfast / lunch for the day. The complex does provide room service breakfast which you fill in the night before. There is a house across the road which is also owned by Barclay (I guess it is for families). Hairdryer and toiletries are provided, with recessed bathroom mirror to store all your goods in. We have highly recommended this facility to our family and friends travelling to Tassie next year, and will return for our next trip,

We stayed in the Standard Unit (24th April) We received a warm welcome. The room was clean - as well as a toaster, and kettle it had a microwave, table and chairs. The bathroom had been newly renovated and was lovely. On the day we arrived, new tvs were being installed in the units. Our room was spotless, quiet and comfortable. Highly recommend and we will be back ourselves.

We got no sleep whatsoever due to a noisy air conditioner. It still made this intermittent droning noise even after we turned it off. Compounding this was the constant drip of water from the wall unit. Horrible experience. We left after 1 night, called the manager to let them know, they said thanks for letting us know. They couldn’t have cared less. Avoid this motel, 1 star at best.

This place was amazing! As soon as we walked in we were like wow! And actually went to ask if we had the correct room! Staff were lovely and helpful and even turned on the lights and heater in our room for us before we arrived. The unit had everything we needed and more! Lovely clean room, a peaceful location, and an easy walk to city centre. The hosts were excellent, going above and beyond - i needed to check-in early as well as a late check-out and when it looked like my taxi wasn’t going to show up they even got me over to the Spirit of Tasmania. I’m not fond of travelling solo, so being looked after by such kind, caring people is a real pleasure.

Craig (owner) was most welcoming. The property is very well located close to the main shopping area, and the river foreshore. Rooms are big and kitted out with tea and coffee making as well as a toaster and microwave oven, and crockery and cutlery. It was good to have a table and comfy chairs to sit at, rather than sitting on the bed. Bathroom is modern and equipped with heat lamps which is a very nice touch on cold mornings. All up, an excellent property. We would stay here again.
