The room was satisfactory for its purpose. Clean and safe. Only issue is the lack of an attached washroom but I was aware of this. Limited parking nearby.

Convenient location, close to Chinatown. Very helpful staff. Loved the complimentary breakfast, simple dinner and a beverage each night. An older building, so no lift, which means carrying your suitcase up several flights of stairs.

Le secteur peut être un peu bruyant les fenêtres sont munis de ventilateur donc restent ouvertes la nuit. Pour le stationnement c'est premier arrivé, premier servi. Par contre on peut se stationner non loin pour 15$ pour 24h. L' ambiance est amusante comme une auberge de jeunesse. On peut faire son lavage pour 2.5$ très pratique. Le petit déjeuner et le souper sont gratuits, ça permet de socialiser. Je recommande les chambres privées avec salle de bain privée. Le rapport qualité prix est très bon.

Nice place to discover Victoria downtown. You have breakfast, dinner and a béer free. The dinner taste very good. Thé only problème is the parking and the people around. Not feeling safe at night

It’s not a hotel it’s a hostel so that’s what you get. Price includes two meals and a drink. Lots of available shared clean bathrooms and a big stainless countertop three sink kitchen with plates etc. Great little pub with a capable friendly barman (when I was there). Junkies and homeless in the area and it’s an old building so it’s not for everyone but it’s my new go to when I have to visit my old hometown.

Parking situation is a bit inconvenient but the staff are super friendly 👌 good place to stay if you're on a budget or traveling

There are rentals of all kinds. Campervans, bikes. Free breakfast for guests and supper. Laundry facilities and a bar 🍺. You can get one free drink 🍷, alcohol or pop from the bar.

It’s near of Downtown, too much people for a very small room. There are homeless person (not a problem) crossing the streets. If you have a big suitcase doesn’t have elevator and you have to carry it to stairs.

We stayed at private Queen room and we left with bed bug bites and on our last day, we noticed that the sheets were stained with what appear to be blood. The staff was kind and good service. I would suggest checking your sheets before sleeping.

The room was not meant for human stay. The room 14 at this hostel was disgusting Smelled like it has not been cleaned in years? Potatoea and other food were left on the floor. No ventilation and I felt like puking the entire night due to the horrendous smell. I could complain to health canada abd this is wrong my furst stay with Hotelscom is the worst experience

Great value for a small room close to downtown. Super clean and well kept. The free breakfast was a very nice touch with yogurt, fruit, and eggs on top of the typical breads offered.

The room itself was fine. The washrooms were a little unclean. The showers in particular were mouldy.

Bathrooms clean enough, great to have free breakfast and supper and one free beer. But room was poor, old bedsheets, hairs on bed, strong unpleasant smell in the whole building, mostly in the room, no AC in the room. Small parking lot, no availability, have to park on the street. Overall it's passable

I did not like anything at all..bed was dirty, sheets were dirty. Pillows were dirty. And they all smell bad. Window was disgusting.View from the window was even more disgusting. Anything in this place is disgusting. Nothing in the picture and information in their website are accurate. Don't waste your money in this uncomfortable place. Or else, you'll regret spending them afterwards.

DO AUTOMATICALLY LEAVE THE LAMPS ON FOR EMPTY BEDS OR NEW GUESTS. 3 of 4 nights I stayed they get left on all night or the guest comes to bed so drunk they don’t turn them off. The second floor room I stayed in had the creakiest door I’ve ever heard. So when girls are coming in and out 43 times in 1 hour at midnight, it’s loud. Creaky floors too.

Free breakfast and dinner, free beer. But noisy as it has very thin walls and the window has an opening to the outside which is the street. Sometimes it could be very noisy with people smoking outside at late night.

Great little hostel. Breakfast and dinner were included, quite minimal but if that's what you need it's ideal, perfect for what I was after. Nice little bar area to chill out and meet like minded travellers in the evening, usually little games going on, but never too loud. I had a small private room with a sink and fridge in, did the trick. Decent kitchen space to prep and cook own food. Location is great, very close to downtown. Quite a few homeless that hang out round the area but all harmless. A pleasant stay

It’s a hostel not a hotel. Great price for the location, older building, but respectably quiet given the location and number of rooms available. All around decent, affordable option if you’re just looking for somewhere to rest your head. Will be back.

It was to hot in the room

Building looks tired. Double room was tiny with only a desk and chair. Noise from the street was hard to mitigate due to fan and vents in the window. No elevator so climbing up 4 flights of stairs with a heavy bag is a challenge. Fortunately staff willing to help. Although 5 shared bathrooms on the floor 2 were closed off for maintenance. At Cad$147.00 not value for money certainly not compared to YWCA in Vancouver. Even though dinner & b/f included they weren't quality. Wouldn't stay again.

I had a private room with a shared bathroom. Very convenient and friendly accommodation. Rooms were a little hot, but the fan provided was enough to keep me cool. Would stay again 👍

The room was fine. Bed was comfy. It was hot, but that's because it faced the rising sun. No complaints.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a unique array of guests from all over the world. It was easy and enjoyable walking there from the ferry port. Food was delicious. Would love to stay here again!

Ok for cheap last minute overnight stay and friendly staff on arrival. The whole building stinks absolutely awful like toilets and stale piss. The bed in private room was very uncomfortable and flat hard pillow. You have to pay for towels and there’s no other way to dry your hands in bathroom without paying for a towel. Downstairs area and Kitchen and dining area is very dark. Free breakfast provided but no fresh milk for coffee - only powdered.

Great customer service by the receptionist. I arrived on a late flight and hadn't checked in yet. I received a call inquiring about my arrival which was a nice touch.

The overly aggressive staff at this apparently exclusive club at 8:30 pm on a Tuesday refused me a room that I had prepaid simply because my passport was issued in the same city as they do business. The explanation given was “we are focusing on, and are only accepting internationals, and students.” Upon inquiring if it was indeed a private club, I was pointed towards the door and told law enforcement would be called if I did not leave. One is left to wonder: at 30 minutes before the desk normally stops taking check-ins, and most websites saying the property wasn’t anywhere near capacity, was there a tour bus expected shortly? Or was it a prejudicial policy based on a previous interaction I had with the management where I revealed I am on disability income? Prima Facie discrimination based on my lawful source of income would surely be a bad look… But… surely we can’t discriminate based solely on place of origin either. That would mean de facto that this service provider does not acknowledge the rights of the traditional peoples who’s un-ceded territory they operate on. Yeah… it was probably the tour bus… At this point, I can’t recommend you do or don’t stay at this exclusive international house of this single worst example of a human rights violation I’ve encountered during the worst housing crisis the City of Victoria has faced… ever. What I can recommend, however, is a that you simply don’t come to this city at all. There is no rich international culture here any more.

This is my go to place to stay when I go to Victoria. The service, and location are amazing, and for my needs it's absolutely perfect.

My late arrival was not an issue with 24 hr staff. Very secure, very clean, amazing mattress for a bunk bed, the staff were really awesome: helpfull and friendly. The breakfast was fresh, varied and perfect. You won’t beat the price.

I liked the fact that it was so well located in Victoria. The property was very basic but clean. Will definitely stay again. Some people may dislike the homeless in the area, but this is common in cities throughout the world. If you want to see as little of that as possible, I recommend when leaving the property turn left and walk down to Douglas or Government St. (ideal) to get on your way downtown.

It’s in a good location and rates are the main reason I stay there- area at night is starting to be crowded with addicts and those with mental health issues that make walking around after dark and early mornings feel unsafe

Really neat building. My bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Everything I needed was within walking distance. I went for a mani-pedi in the am, went whale watching in the afternoon and got a massage in the evening. All within walking distance from the hostel as well as from where my dog was being taken care of.

Great place, though the surrounding neighborhood is filled with homeless and addiction. But the hotel itself was safe and great

Short walk to downtown. Free healthy breakfast and supper! Great staff! Homeless people in area may stress out some people. If you have a room with a street view, you may get second hand smoke from people smoking outside. However staff do their best to remind people not to smoke nearby.

Awesome location and breakfast. Lots of homeless people right in front of hostel. They don’t bother anyone but it’s just sad to look at.

Very central and easy to walk everywhere. The free food was very tasty, plentiful, and it was so nice that it was vegetarian! Due to its location there are some unhoused folks around which could be stressful for some people. Great to see a wide diversity in the fellow quests!

We enjoyed our stay and the free breakfast and dinner were a really great perk! The one free drink a night was also a nice touch. Our stay also felt safe even thought the neighborhood was not feeling the safest.

The breakfast is very measly. I'd rather have a better breakfast than poor breakfast and a free beer.

Yannick at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful. This place offers free breakfast and free dinner with one (meatless) freshly cooked meal. Very delicious. Take advantage of the discount they offer for Whale watching etc. It’s worth it. Centrally located, no need to use the car. There are some homeless people in the neighbourhood but harmless.Our room was facing the street which is very noisy at night.
