We had a lovely stay here. The staff were wonderful and accommating, gave us tips on places and restaurants to go to. Its only a short walk to the centre and to the riverside - extremely convenient. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options and fresh bread each morning - 3 different kinds! Downsides - The walls were thin and on our last night we could hear the room next to us snoring. Also we had a problem with parking where all spaces were taken due to an event so we had to drive out of the centre to a pub nearby for a couple hours and wait and hope there was space when we got back which luckily there was 1 space. Overall a wondeful stay and we will be back.

A fantastic location with very friendly, helpful staff. The price was beyond competitive considering the parking and breakfast were included. The only negative would be that the towels were a little fusty but overall a great stay and i would definitely book again if i was visiting york.

Easy as with booking through expedia. Instructions for parking very ckear. Parking and breakfast included. Very quiet area but only a short walk to york minster. Staff amazingky lovely. Clean comfortable quiand reasonable. Definitely recommend

The property offered good value for money, was 5 minutes walk from the Minster and city centre. Parking was free outside the place and the staff were attentive and polite. The carpet in our room had a few coffee stains by each bedside table, the bed was very comfy though and the room was quiet. We would definitely book to come again. The dining room could benefit from some music at breakfast time to break the silence. And maybe some plug-ins to freshen up the hallway. Apart from that, it was good!

Lovely guest house within easy walking distance of York, it's sites and the Christmas Market. Parking was available nearby. Danny and the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable of the area and always willing to help. The choice and quality of food available for breakfast was excellent. The rooms were very spacious and welcoming and the beds were very comfy. Will return and would definitely recommend.

Loved our stay in the Ebor Suite. Quiet and secluded, with a bit more space and a dedicated parking spot too. Easy walk from York centre and the breakfast should not be missed. Lots to chose from and the bread was delicious. We would definitely book again if we return to York.

Lovely guest house which is half a mile walk from city centre. Very nice area. We were on 2nd floor. Lovely clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Parking was reserved for us and lucky to find a space just around the corner. Friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend and would definitely stay here again if we come back to York.

Great stay. Limited times for breakfast but actually worked out well for us. Parking was great, would just have been good to know before arrival to avoid us having to more car after check in, great to have free parking all the same. Hotel in great location for town centre

Very friendly helpful staff and instructions before arrival and during my stay. Clean and tidy room. Walls not sound proof so spent the night listening to a neighbour snoring unfortunately but very comfortable bed. Carpet was vacuumed but could do with a shampoo. Excellent breakfast. Tea and coffee making facilities and nice toiletries. Thank you.

A very nice and very tidy B&B! The location was perfect for us - we were able to walk all over the old town and it was an easy walk from the train station. Super comfy beds and nice towels. It is an older townhouse with several floors, so no elevator- but that was expected. The hot English Breakfast was very good!

Lovely location lovely room we stayed in. The pillows was slightly hard and the mattress was hard as well. Nice breakfast choice although on the full English there was no hash brown. This would have been a good point for me. Rooms are very hollow can hear everything from the next rooms. Lovely people very friendly and very polite.

I can only review our room named The Shambles. It was small, located in the roof space so a lot of the room had the roof slope cutting off the space available. There was tea and coffee provided but only 5 teabags on day 1 & 4 on day 2 also a minimal supply of uht milk cartons. The unit these were situated on was about 40cm high so you had to sit to brew up or bend over a long way. A small kettle took about 10mins to boil 2 cups worth of water There was one small low down bedroom type chair for two of us. The bathroom door was a sliding door with no rail at the bottom so it was impossible to open and close without it banging into the frame. The biggest problem for us was that the walls are very thin and the people in the two neighbouring rooms could be heard when going about their normal business. They disturbed us and I am sure we disturbed them. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. The breakfast is tasty but not plentiful, my portion of mushrooms consisted of one mushroom about 5cm in diameter, on the second day it consisted of two mushrooms! There is one DIY domestic toaster for up to 14 people! There is a full page, in great detail, in the guest information book informing guests how much they will charged if they damage anything! The guest house is well located for York's attractions being about ten minutes walk from the centre. All the staff were very friendly and helpful it is clean and warm, but it is not a cheap place, I would expect more for the money paid.

The B&B felt like home from home. Location 5/5. Staff very friendly. Good breakfast. Bread was too thick for our liking. Room was very clean. Had a parking space which was very convenient. We had one day where our room was missed for service but the team apologised profusely. On reflection, feel like we over spent on accommodation here in comparison to the B&B we stayed at earlier on in the week and it didn’t have the wow factor like the other one. On arrival we did receive lemon drizzle cake which was a lovely gesture and very welcoming.

Awesome staff that went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Even made a call for us to the rental car place. Great breakfast and parking, both free/included. I think the pillows could be updated but the bed and room were all we needed. I highly recommend this property!

Words like charming, English, lovely, wonderful, great location best describe Saint Raphael Guest House. Even more, you must know the staff, especially the manager, Danny, are amazing. They take care of you, always helpful, bright, cheerful and knowledgeable. They can suggest everything from must-see places in York to fit your timetable to must-visit places for dinner, etc. By the way, breakfast is over the top!

A lovely, friendly place that really makes you feel at home! For the price the value for money is fantastic; decent size bedroom with en-suite (and a great shower!), free parking and a hearty breakfast with plenty of options. The location is great - roughly a 10 minute walk into town. Staff were all so helpful and gave lots of recommendations for things to do, plus we had home-made banana bread ready on arrival! I would definitely stay again :)

Enjoyed our stay at St Raphael Guest House. Very well located ...just a 7 - 8 minute walk to York Minster or York Museum or the theatre. Another few minutes and you are in the heart of the city. Only small gripe...shower enclosure is very small and a bit cramped. Otherwise can highly recommend.

Easy as with booking through expedia. Instructions for parking very ckear. Parking and breakfast included. Very quiet area but only a short walk to york minster. Staff amazingky lovely. Clean comfortable quiand reasonable. Definitely recommend

A very nice and very tidy B&B! The location was perfect for us - we were able to walk all over the old town and it was an easy walk from the train station. Super comfy beds and nice towels. It is an older townhouse with several floors, so no elevator- but that was expected. The hot English Breakfast was very good!

Lovely guest house which is half a mile walk from city centre. Very nice area. We were on 2nd floor. Lovely clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Parking was reserved for us and lucky to find a space just around the corner. Friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend and would definitely stay here again if we come back to York.

Had a lovely stay at St Raphael in York. Friendly helpful staff and a fantastic breakfast. Room had everything we needed and was quiet and comfortable. Great position for walking to the various museums, river, pubs and restaurants.

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were wonderful and accommating, gave us tips on places and restaurants to go to. Its only a short walk to the centre and to the riverside - extremely convenient. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options and fresh bread each morning - 3 different kinds! Downsides - The walls were thin and on our last night we could hear the room next to us snoring. Also we had a problem with parking where all spaces were taken due to an event so we had to drive out of the centre to a pub nearby for a couple hours and wait and hope there was space when we got back which luckily there was 1 space. Overall a wondeful stay and we will be back.

Lovely guest house within easy walking distance of York, it's sites and the Christmas Market. Parking was available nearby. Danny and the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable of the area and always willing to help. The choice and quality of food available for breakfast was excellent. The rooms were very spacious and welcoming and the beds were very comfy. Will return and would definitely recommend.

Lovely room and plenty of choice for continental breakfast,cooked breakfast was superb and gave you a good start to the day. Staff helpful and accommodating. Good situation for the train station and near to the city centre,overall a very good stay.

Great stay. Limited times for breakfast but actually worked out well for us. Parking was great, would just have been good to know before arrival to avoid us having to more car after check in, great to have free parking all the same. Hotel in great location for town centre

I can only review our room named The Shambles. It was small, located in the roof space so a lot of the room had the roof slope cutting off the space available. There was tea and coffee provided but only 5 teabags on day 1 & 4 on day 2 also a minimal supply of uht milk cartons. The unit these were situated on was about 40cm high so you had to sit to brew up or bend over a long way. A small kettle took about 10mins to boil 2 cups worth of water There was one small low down bedroom type chair for two of us. The bathroom door was a sliding door with no rail at the bottom so it was impossible to open and close without it banging into the frame. The biggest problem for us was that the walls are very thin and the people in the two neighbouring rooms could be heard when going about their normal business. They disturbed us and I am sure we disturbed them. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. The breakfast is tasty but not plentiful, my portion of mushrooms consisted of one mushroom about 5cm in diameter, on the second day it consisted of two mushrooms! There is one DIY domestic toaster for up to 14 people! There is a full page, in great detail, in the guest information book informing guests how much they will charged if they damage anything! The guest house is well located for York's attractions being about ten minutes walk from the centre. All the staff were very friendly and helpful it is clean and warm, but it is not a cheap place, I would expect more for the money paid.

El mejor servicio. Los dueños son súper súper amables y te dan el mejor desayuno que nos comimos en todo el viaje. La guesthouse es pequeña, los cuartos sencillos y no tiene elevador. Te queda caminando del centro de York. Todo está muy limpio y el servicio es extraordinario.

Disappointed based on previous reviews Having read so many positive reviews prior to booking, our expectations were quite high, but unfortunately, our stay didn't quite live up to them. The Room ("The Bars"): Very basic. Wardrobe space was extremely limited with only four hangers provided, forcing us to live out of our suitcases. There was no iron available (despite an advertised laundry service), and it lacked thoughtful touches like biscuits on the tea and coffee tray. Breakfast Experience: Simply okay, rather than the "amazing" spread mentioned in other reviews. Tables were quite small and were not cleared between courses, making the space feel cluttered. Compared to other York stays, the selection felt lacking—there was no fruit salad, limited jam options, and no marmalade available. Having to use a single self-service toaster also created a bit of a bottleneck during busy times. Location & Amenities: The location is excellent—just a 10-minute walk into the city center. The parking was a huge plus, and the staff were kind enough to extend our parking time on our final day, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, it's a convenient base for exploring York, but the room amenities and breakfast service fell short of expectations.

Location was good with just a short walk into the centre of York. Our room was lovely and had everything we needed. Parking instructions were clear on arrival with permit parking on nearby streets. Best of all for me was that they catered for my gluten intolerance and also had soya milk. Breakfast was very tasty.

A great location, quiet yet still walking distance to the Centre of town, clean, friendly, charming house with spacious bedroom and comfortable bed. We were on the top floor with a beautiful big window. Lots of great natural light. Breakfast was convenient and delicious in the charming dining room. Staff was cheerful and helpful. A very lovely spot.
