a beautiful resort in a tranquil setting, staff were excellent and friendly. Wifi reception was bit mixed across the resort. The shop was expensive in my opinion. 50usd for a cotton printed t-shirt - hot price.

My wife and I just had the most incredible 4 night stay at GoldenEye for our anniversary. We stayed in one of the Lagoon Cottages which was very roomy and comfortable. We loved being directly on the lagoon where we could swim, kayak or just sit and watch the turtles go by. We enjoyed the beaches and pools on the property as well. All of the staff (front desk, restaurants, grounds, water sports, spa, etc.) were wonderful. And, every meal we had at Bizot Bar and Bamboo Bar was delicious and featured the freshest local ingredients and bright Jamaican flavors in a good variety of traditional dishes. I cannot think of a single negative. We cannot wait to go back next year.

We had a wonderful stay at GoldenEye — it’s a truly stunning property. We loved our beach hut; it was charming, comfortable, and perfectly in keeping with the laid-back vibe of the resort. The grounds are incredible — the beach and especially the lagoon are absolutely magical. We stayed on the beach, but in hindsight, we’d have preferred a lagoon hut if one had been available. The restaurants were good — casual and relaxed, which suited the atmosphere, though on the pricey side (as expected for a place like this). While the overall service felt a bit hands-off and self-service at times, the restaurant staff were amazing — warm, friendly, and genuinely went out of their way to make the experience special. Special thanks to Kevin, who really stood out! There were a few service hiccups — we had breakfast delivered once and it arrived cold with a few things missing, so we didn’t repeat that. We also asked several times for the mini bar fridge to be emptied so we could use it for our own water, but it was never done. GoldenEye is undeniably beautiful and unique, with a one-of-a-kind setting. That said, for the price point, we felt it lacked a bit of the personal touch and polish you'd expect. Still, it's a special place that offers something truly different — peaceful, naturally stunning, and full of character.

We stayed in a lagoon cottage. It was amazing to just step into the lagoon for a swim. We saw several sea turtles from our deck which was very cool. Bring bug spray! The mosquitoes were very hungry. The food and cocktails were good - although very expensive! Overall highly recommended. I’m a big Bond fan and had wanted to stay here for a while. Dr No showed when we were staying - iconic!

GoldenEye was the highlight of our trip. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant had good healthy options. Having our own personal kayak tied to our own dock was a lot of fun, and the unique feature of the room being its own stand alone unit with its own access to the river to swim in and have fun it was a one of a kind experience. The only critique which is more outside of the hotels control, is the taxi's that the hotel got for us were extremely high at $110 (plus 20 tip) to just go to a tourist spot 25 minutes and wait 45 minutes for us to go through the tourist attraction/ride, and then bring us back, was unreasonably high I felt even for the tourist/non-local price, but when I complained to the hotel they said it was standard and all taxis charge that, but I know from prior taxis they would charge us about that for using a taxi a whole day not just 2 hours. Besides that everything else was great. My girlfriend said the massage/facial at the Spa was one of the best she ever had so that is also highly recommended. Don't forgot to bring cash to tip the staff, and I like how they did not have any pressure to tip, which is contrary to outside the hotel where the tourist spots like Mystique Mountain /ziplining are overly agressive in asking for tips. Overall a great experience. Thanks!

I cannot say enough good things about this resort. We haven't traveled in over 4 years so wanted our first trip to be special and this place went above and beyond expectations. The service was impeccable. The property was outstanding. We loved to start our days snorkelling with the complimentary gear then head over to the Bamboo Bar for a snack and Red Stripe before taking the kayak around the lagoon to watch the barracuda's, turtles and many other fish. For dinner we'd either go to the Gazebo, Bizot or one of their wonderful buffett nights. Then ending every day at Shabeen's where Glen took great care of us, sourcing a guitar for live music and mixing delicious cocktails! We were super happy with the level of care by Glen, Lacy Ann, Milton, Alicia, Aston, Jason and so many more! And the massage... so wonderful! We can't wait to come back to this gem!

Breakfast could be a bit more generous. Juices were from concentrate. Proper coffee or an additional food choice eg fruit salads and muesli was an extra charge. Annoying waiting around to sign a cheque for $0 too - feels like just hanging out for a tip. Room and resort in great condition. Compared to other hotels in Jamaica it lacks a bit of atmosphere as everyone tends to keep to themselves - some people might like that.

This is a very unique property which is very restful during the day and the property is kept in great condition. The location is quiet noisy at night with the nearby road. The staff are generally friendly and helpful however the front desk are quite abrupt and the restaurant staff are sometimes slow and forgetful. The prices are top dollar but the overall staff service is not 5 star.

Third time staying at the Golden Eye and I love it here every time. This is a secluded private hotel. It feels like an island in the island. The staff is top tier!!! They are warm, welcoming and just overall great people. You can tell that they really love their job. They make it a point to learn everyone’s name and make you feel right at home. The beach is very clean as well as the pool areas. The ocean could use a little bit more cleaning from all of the algae but not a big deal. Each guest room is a little cottage ranging from a studio style to 2-3 bedrooms with full kitchens. The cottages are huge! You can see the wear and tear in the rooms a bit, the rooms could definitely get upgraded but I think the hotel may be going for the rustic outdoor vibe. Overall, it is amazing for privacy and comfort and the views from this place are breathtaking. 10/10 recommend and I look forward to coming back every year!!)

Stunning property. The elegance and way it is integrated into the landscape is incredible. The morning on day two some maintenance guys were cleaning up the roof on next beach house and were quite noisy. They should have respected a quiet time in the morning ( it was around 9am)

My wife and I just had the most incredible 4 night stay at GoldenEye for our anniversary. We stayed in one of the Lagoon Cottages which was very roomy and comfortable. We loved being directly on the lagoon where we could swim, kayak or just sit and watch the turtles go by. We enjoyed the beaches and pools on the property as well. All of the staff (front desk, restaurants, grounds, water sports, spa, etc.) were wonderful. And, every meal we had at Bizot Bar and Bamboo Bar was delicious and featured the freshest local ingredients and bright Jamaican flavors in a good variety of traditional dishes. I cannot think of a single negative. We cannot wait to go back next year.

We had a wonderful stay at GoldenEye — it’s a truly stunning property. We loved our beach hut; it was charming, comfortable, and perfectly in keeping with the laid-back vibe of the resort. The grounds are incredible — the beach and especially the lagoon are absolutely magical. We stayed on the beach, but in hindsight, we’d have preferred a lagoon hut if one had been available. The restaurants were good — casual and relaxed, which suited the atmosphere, though on the pricey side (as expected for a place like this). While the overall service felt a bit hands-off and self-service at times, the restaurant staff were amazing — warm, friendly, and genuinely went out of their way to make the experience special. Special thanks to Kevin, who really stood out! There were a few service hiccups — we had breakfast delivered once and it arrived cold with a few things missing, so we didn’t repeat that. We also asked several times for the mini bar fridge to be emptied so we could use it for our own water, but it was never done. GoldenEye was the highlight of our trip. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant had good healthy options. Having our own personal kayak tied to our own dock was a lot of fun, and the unique feature of the room being its own stand alone unit with its own access to the river to swim in and have fun it was a one of a kind experience. The only critique which is more outside of the hotels control, is the taxi's that the hotel got for us were extremely high at $110 (plus 20 tip) to just go to a tourist spot 25 minutes and wait 45 minutes for us to go through the tourist attraction/ride, and then bring us back, was unreasonably high I felt even for the tourist/non-local price, but when I complained to the hotel they said it was standard and all taxis charge that, but I know from prior taxis they would charge us about that for using a taxi a whole day not just 2 hours. Besides that everything else was great. My girlfriend said the massage/facial at the Spa was one of the best she ever had so that is also highly recommended. Don't forgot to bring cash to tip the staff, and I like how they did not have any pressure to tip, which is contrary to outside the hotel where the tourist spots like Mystique Mountain /ziplining are overly agressive in asking for tips. Overall a great experience. Thanks!

This is a very unique property which is very restful during the day and the property is kept in great condition. The location is quiet noisy at night with the nearby road. The staff are generally friendly and helpful however the front desk are quite abrupt and the restaurant staff are sometimes slow and forgetful. The prices are top dollar but the overall staff service is not 5 star.

Third time staying at the Golden Eye and I love it here every time. This is a secluded private hotel. It feels like an island in the island. The staff is top tier!!! They are warm, welcoming and just overall great people. You can tell that they really love their job. They make it a point to learn everyone’s name and make you feel right at home. The beach is very clean as well as the pool areas. The ocean could use a little bit more cleaning from all of the algae but not a big deal. Each guest room is a little cottage ranging from a studio style to 2-3 bedrooms with full kitchens. The cottages are huge! You can see the wear and tear in the rooms a bit, the rooms could definitely get upgraded but I think the hotel may be going for the rustic outdoor vibe. Overall, it is amazing for privacy and comfort and the views from this place are breathtaking. 10/10 recommend and I look forward to coming back every year!!)

I have stayed here before but i only returned as i wanted to show my friend the place. Check in staff were okay and breakfast staff were very good and even made us Jamaican chocolate tea. However check out was lousy. We dealt with a sour individual who did not know how to say please or thank you. I did tell him off. This idiot shoukd know that this is the last impression guest have of the property. Its living off its reputation but is over priced and over rated.

Goldeneyes location is sublime, it truly is a hidden gem. However we were so dissatisfied with the service and food options. It was the life guard that brought us water at the beach, there were plenty of other staff but they never once checked to see if we would like a drink. Considering we only saw six other guests they were hardly run off their feet! The food options were also disappointing to say the least. There was only one restaurant in the evening with a very limited menu. We only stayed two night but would have got very bored with the choice very quickly. They did offer us the option of choosing anything and the chef would do it but I really don’t want to think that hard when I am on holiday after all that is what I do at home. The final nail was how expensive both the food and drink were.

I loved everything about Goldeneye. It was the most unique resort I've ever visited, with the lagoon and the beach and the pools offering a variety of water activities. The Accommodations were luxurious, including the huts, but they were also cosy and homey and the wooden slatted windows and high ceilings and mosquito netting around the big high comfortable bed reminded me of a wonderful time gone by. The staff effortlessly remembered our names and everything about us from day one. They looked out for us and anticipated our needs without being intrusive in anyway. Patrick, who seemed quiet, but suggested that I learned to paddle board, and held on until I felt safe enough to do it, was a standout. As were bartenders Jermaine and Milton and Kevin the waiter at Bizot. Nardia is my forever fave because she made me snort with laugher and called me Shell Shell, honestly I miss them already. The little details, like the eco friendliness of the resort (we will never forget the afternoon we spent helping to release the baby turtles), and the pride that the staff take in the resort and each other (Donald bragging about the cooks at Button Beach and Richard giving me resort tidbits on our kayak trip.... soooo good. Also the complimentary Blackwell Rum and the letters on arrival and departure felt very special. We really loved our time there and the people we met and we can't wait to come back!

We selected GoldenEye because my husband is a James Bond scholar. The property was beautiful and the beaches were calm, magnificent, and shallow, although I think it does get deeper as you go out further. My 3 star rating comes because of two reasons. Firstly, the food was ok, nothing memorable, just OK. My problem with this is that at that cost, I expect magnificent. We had an expensive buffet dinner (this includes two drinks and tip) and were expecting memorable. This is a beautiful resort. It is a lot like an all inclusive without the inclusive. It is very secluded (and I get that this is their intention, which is to give their guests privacy.) So if you like all inclusive, this is your type of place. My 3 star rating comes from a personal experience. Before arriving I write to ask if I could invite my cousin for lunch. My first answer was a bit nebulous and strange, so I wrote again and was told that I could not because the property was full and they could not accommodate two extras. We were there for three days and each night me and my husband sat at a table for four with two empty seats. My point here is that I prefer to be spoken to truthfully. If the protocol is that folks in the beach huts are not allowed guests, then just say so because I am sure if Adele asks to have two guests for lunch, she will not get a "sorry, we are full," when that is clearly not the case. But as I said, if you like upscale all-inclusives, this is your place (without the inclusives).

An absolute oasis. The very best aspect of Golden Eye is the warm, friendly, hospitable, engaging and attentive staff. We'd have a smile on our face all day because the love and attention that was given to us made us feel so special and cared for. It's a gorgeous, quiet respite from the chaos that surrounds us in our daily lives. A true treasure and a memorable treat.

I cannot say enough good things about this resort. We haven't traveled in over 4 years so wanted our first trip to be special and this place went above and beyond expectations. The service was impeccable. The property was outstanding. We loved to start our days snorkelling with the complimentary gear then head over to the Bamboo Bar for a snack and Red Stripe before taking the kayak around the lagoon to watch the barracuda's, turtles and many other fish. For dinner we'd either go to the Gazebo, Bizot or one of their wonderful buffett nights. Then ending every day at Shabeen's where Glen took great care of us, sourcing a guitar for live music and mixing delicious cocktails! I cannot say enough good things about this resort. We haven't traveled in over 4 years so wanted our first trip to be special and this place went above and beyond expectations. The service was impeccable. The property was outstanding. We loved to start our days snorkelling with the complimentary gear then head over to the Bamboo Bar for a snack and Red Stripe before taking the kayak around the lagoon to watch the barracuda's, turtles and many other fish. For dinner we'd either go to the Gazebo, Bizot or one of their wonderful buffett nights. Then ending every day at Shabeen's where Glen took great care of us, sourcing a guitar for live music and mixing delicious cocktails! We were super happy with the level of care by Glen, Lacy Ann, Milton, Alicia, Aston, Jason and so many more! And the massage... so wonderful! We can't wait to come back to this gem!

My wife and I just had the most incredible 4 night stay at GoldenEye for our anniversary. We stayed in one of the Lagoon Cottages which was very roomy and comfortable. We loved being directly on the lagoon where we could swim, kayak or just sit and watch the turtles go by. We enjoyed the beaches and pools on the property as well. All of the staff (front desk, restaurants, grounds, water sports, spa, etc.) were wonderful. And, every meal we had at Bizot Bar and Bamboo Bar was delicious and featured the freshest local ingredients and bright Jamaican flavors in a good variety of traditional dishes. I cannot think of a single negative. We cannot wait to go back next year.

We had a wonderful stay at GoldenEye — it’s a truly stunning property. We loved our beach hut; it was charming, comfortable, and perfectly in keeping with the laid-back vibe of the resort. The grounds are incredible — the beach and especially the lagoon are absolutely magical. We stayed on the beach, but in hindsight, we’d have preferred a lagoon hut if one had been available. The restaurants were good — casual and relaxed, which suited the atmosphere, though on the pricey side (as expected for a place like this). While the overall service felt a bit hands-off and self-service at times, the restaurant staff were amazing — warm, friendly, and genuinely went out of their way to make the experience special. Special thanks to Kevin, who really stood out! There were a few service hiccups — we had breakfast delivered once and it arrived cold with a few things missing, so we didn’t repeat that. We also asked several times for the mini bar fridge to be emptied so we could use it for our own water, but it was never done. GoldenEye is undeniably beautiful and unique, with a one-of-a-kind setting. That said, for the price point, we felt it lacked a bit of the personal touch and polish you'd expect. There's nothing my little family hates more than a vacation resort filled with concrete and loud music. Goldeneye was everything we love. Lush green spaces, lots of places to walk, pool and beach options that aren't overcrowded and extremely pleasant staff, who made our 10month old feel like a celebrity. Definitely saving for our next trip and trying to get friends on board. Food is a bit expensive.

It is a beautiful well-kept property set between a lagoon and the sea, with multiple options for swimming. Goldeneyes location is sublime, it truly is a hidden gem. However we were so dissatisfied with the service and food options. It was the life guard that brought us water at the beach, there were plenty of other staff but they never once checked to see if we would like a drink. Considering we only saw six other guests they were hardly run off their feet! The food options were also disappointing to say the least. There was only one restaurant in the evening with a very limited menu. We only stayed two night but would have got very bored with the choice very quickly. They did offer us the option of choosing anything and the chef would do it but I really don’t want to think that hard when I am on holiday after all that is what I do at home. The final nail was how expensive both the food and drink were.

This is a very unique property which is very restful during the day and the property is kept in great condition. The location is quiet noisy at night with the nearby road. The staff are generally friendly and helpful however the front desk are quite abrupt and the restaurant staff are sometimes slow and forgetful. The prices are top dollar but the overall staff service is not 5 star.

Summary: A ok hotel which I'd struggle to recommend unless seeking privacy or a very quiet stay. Positive: - The lagoon rooms are fantastic, fixture and fittings are excellent. - The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable - Mosquito net above the bed is essential being next to the lagoon - Provided a nice Birthday Champagne bottle in the room - Each lagoon room has its own kayak, free to use and try spot turtles -Book in seeing Marlon for snorkeling, such a calm guy who had amazing patience with two weak swimmers - Nice Beach Negatives: - Upon arrival at Golden Eye reception, felt unwanted and cold. No drinking water offered or cold towel provided to help settle us down from traveling. Receptionist with the bald head definitely gave off I'm too important vibe. - Outside shower is great during sunny weather but runs cold water while raining. - During our stay, across from the lagoon loud club music can be heard which kills the relaxing sunset vibe. This happened both nights during our stay. -Bar staff constantly on their phone and unattentive. -We attended a buffet style night by the beach. Nice setting and average tasting Carribbean food ($60 each). My partner and I both woke up with bad belly, not ideal to fly with. -Anyone who wants to view the Ian Fleming room will now be declined as they've stopped tours even if no one is occupying. A great shame as many fans travel to GoldenEye to experience history. Now it's simple hotel which leverages a legend name.

Beautiful setting. Lovely villa on the edge of the sea. Choice of swimming in the sea, lagoon or various pools. Different themed events during the week kept dining interesting. Breakfast could be a bit more generous. Juices were from concentrate. Proper coffee or an additional food choice eg fruit salads and muesli was an extra charge. Annoying waiting around to sign a cheque for $0 too - feels like just hanging out for a tip. Room and resort in great condition. Compared to other hotels in Jamaica it lacks a bit of atmosphere as everyone tends to keep to themselves - some people might like that.

We selected GoldenEye because my husband is a James Bond scholar. The property was beautiful and the beaches were calm, magnificent, and shallow, although I think it does get deeper as you go out further. My 3 star rating comes because of two reasons. Firstly, the food was ok, nothing memorable, just OK. My problem with this is that at that cost, I expect magnificent. We had an expensive buffet dinner (this includes two drinks and tip) and were expecting memorable. This is a beautiful resort. It is a lot like an all inclusive without the inclusive. It is very secluded (and I get that this is their intention, which is to give their guests privacy.) So if you like all inclusive, this is your type of place. My 3 star rating comes from a personal experience. Before arriving I write to ask if I could invite my cousin for lunch. My first answer was a bit nebulous and strange, so I wrote again and was told that I could not because the property was full and they could not accommodate two extras. We were there for three days and each night me and my husband sat at a table for four with two empty seats. My point here is that I prefer to be spoken to truthfully. If the protocol is that folks in the beach huts are not allowed guests, then just say so because I am sure if Adele asks to have two guests for lunch, she will not get a "sorry, we are full," when that is clearly not the case. But as I said, if you like upscale all-inclusives, this is your place (without the inclusives).

GoldenEye was the highlight of our trip. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant had good healthy options. Having our own personal kayak tied to our own dock was a lot of fun, and the unique feature of the room being its own stand alone unit with its own access to the river to swim in and have fun it was a one of a kind experience. The only critique which is more outside of the hotels control, is the taxi's that the hotel got for us were extremely high at $110 (plus 20 tip) to just go to a tourist spot 25 minutes and wait 45 minutes for us to go through the tourist attraction/ride, and then bring us back, was unreasonably high I felt even for the tourist/non-local price, but when I complained to the hotel they said it was standard and all taxis charge that, but I know from prior taxis they would charge us about that for using a taxi a whole day not just 2 hours. Besides that everything else was great. My girlfriend said the massage/facial at the Spa was one of the best she ever had so that is also highly recommended. Don't forgot to bring cash to tip the staff, and I like how they did not have any pressure to tip, which is contrary to outside the hotel where the tourist spots like Mystique Mountain /ziplining are overly agressive in asking for tips. Overall a great experience. Thanks!

Goldeneye is one of the most beautiful resorts in Jamaica. I think rustic luxury best describes it...you feel like you're in JA when you are here. While in other hotels on the North Coast - you could be anywhere. We'll be back!

A unique highlight was the on-site turtle sanctuary, where we were lucky enough to spot turtles up close—an unforgettable experience. Magnificent Spa & Dining When it's time to unwind, the spa is magnificent and offers a world-class relaxation experience. The culinary side of the resort is just as impressive, with great choices for food and drinks that kept us spoiled for options every single day. If you are looking for an ultra-luxury Jamaican getaway with flawless service and endless activities, look no further. This place is paradise!

Such a lovely place! I spend the most wonderful vacations with my husband. The place was surrounded by nature everywhere and it was such a calm place. The staff was incredibly kind.

Property was amazing, staff amazing, we had Pops as a driver and he’s highly recommended to request he knows so much about Jamaica and it’s almost like a tour driving to and from the airport Only thing I have is only 1 restraint open for dinner, they could rotate the menus or have more specials, same thing every night Besides the food we will be back for sure, so relaxing and beautiful environment!!!! 5 stars!!
