Hotel Topazz & Lamée

Lovely boutique hotel. Elegant, modern decor in suite. Great shower. Staff in restsurant were standouts in kindness. Rooftop bar was overcrowded but fun. Facility needs a gym to be perfect.

Great location, decor of room modern but room on the small side. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful I booked the place as it had a rooftop bar, but unfortunately was extremely disappointed! It was not what I expected, tables nearly touching each other which meant you were unable to move around to see the view and as smoking is still allowed in bars and restaurants it made for a very unpleasant experience! Would not bother visiting if you were planning to do so!

Room okay ish, and great locations. Room on the 1st floor overlooking the street, room was visible to the shoppers in the supermarket opposite, room had no curtains other than blackout curtains that made the room so dark. There is no on site bar!!!!! The bar is across a very busy road, once there we were told it was too cold to take the shutters down so just a really just a basic bar in a building opposite the hotel. .

Unfortunately this hotel didn't live up to expectations and if I had my choice again I would have choosen a different hotel. When I originally booked through Expedia the hotel advertised limited room service and a bar/rooftop bar. On arrival we were informed the bar is undergoing renovation and is now closed and they do not provide room service. On our second day unfortunately housekeeping didn't make the beds at all despite us being out of the hotel room from 0900 -2100. The air conditioning in the room did not work for the duration of our stay and unfortunately on our final night we had a drunken couple fighting and arguing from 23:00 - 03:30, dispite calling the reception and telling them what was going on no one bothered to sort it out, instead allowing it to continue and leaving us feeling very unsafe for the rest of the stay. Staff are very friendly here and the hotel is very clean and in a great location for exploring the city but for the price you pay you can almost definitely get a better overall service in a number of different hotels very close by.

The hotel is nice in a very good location. Disappointing due to the roof top bar is not open. It is being renovated and was to be open in Spring. It is not clearly stated on the information for this hotel. Otherwise, very clean and good sound proof windows. Breakfast is too expensive.

I was in the LAMÉE bldg. Only one elevator and it broke 2 days in a row. Other than that everything was good.

My room was very comfortable - breakfast was solid the one day I went. They are sister hotels (topazz and LAMÉE) so I think the breakfast was in topazz and the bar was in lamee - I didn’t see the regular bar - the rooftop bar was very nice - definitely needed a reservation - a couple people in our group had to leave early bc the cigarette smoking was so intense around us but I guess that’s more the destination than the venue.

Diese Unterkunft hat einzigartig freundliche und zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption. Die Unterkunft ist super zentral gelegen. Man ist sehr schnell an der U-Bahn oder an der Tram. Sehr viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig erreichbar. Trotz der sehr zentralen Lage mit belebtem Nachtleben direkt vor der Tür, war unser Zimmer ruhig. Zu beachten ist, dass es um zwei Häuser geht, wir mussten zum Frühstück aus dem Haus über die Straße in das andere Hotel. Da wir aber trockenes Wetter hatten, war es kein Problem. Das Hotel hat eine Rooftopbar, die für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich ist. Das warten auf den Fahrstuhl hat somit etwas länger gedauert. Aber im Urlaub ist man ja entspannt.

Great location and friendly staff. We were in the separate location across the road which did not have any reception/the public were able to walk in so the security was not good. The roof terrace/bar was not open

The property is in a great location Nd the staff were friendly. Unfortunately our room was not clean when we arrived. Staff had to send someone up to reclean the bathroom. The airconditioning was very weak. Our room was very dusty and we had to request request housekeeping for a thorough dusting and vacuuming the second day of our stay.

I liked the location! The rooftop at Lamee was pleasant. Staff was pleasant and tried being accommodating. We had 2 rooms in Topazz, both were dirty! Smelled like smoke, thick yucky smell! Very unpleasant. Dust everywhere, floors dirty, tapestry dirty and smelly. We had a contact lens stuck on the floor in our bathroom during the entirety of our stay, meaning they don’t really wash them. Stains on all fabric surfaces, rugs in the room, in the lobby and breakfast area. Layer of dust on all lamps and light fixtures. On last night we had dirty sheets too. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone at this point, however if the actually clean the property, it has potential.

The hotel was in a good area close enough to walk to many attractions. It looked nicer in the pictures but it was fine and the bed was comfortable. The bathrooms were nice. It was a little beat up and a little dated. The staff always had storage doors open that were not kept very neat between the front desk and the elevator. It made the hotel not feel very nice.

Der Glanz ist ab. Sehr schöne Einrichtung aber leider etwas ungepflegt und abgeratzt, die Dachterrasse komplett geschlossen, das Zimmer hat immer leicht nach Essen und Abfluss gerochen, Im Aufenthaltsraum bzw im Salon alte Kekse und sehr sehr viele Fruchtfliegen, Lage perfekt.

Cleaningness is an issue to this hotel. You can see the piled dust at the side behind the reception once you step in and so is the room. Hygiene issues as well as hotel does not put any plastic bag at the bins , not even to the one at the toilet...!! Guests check in and check out using same bins that i wonder if ever cleaned... Probably they dont provide daily cleaning service as we had to call the reception after the 2nd night that nobody came to clean Perfect location but hotel has failed to the basics..

Plumbing and electrical issues in the room (strong sewage smell from drains; bath sink light switch worked sometimes, other times not) and television had no signal and batteries were dead in the remote control. That said, the staff was excellent—friendly and responsive—and the location and view from the room were both great. Overall, a bit pricey for the experience.

Servicen kan forbedres - især rengøringen haltede. Værelset var ikke klar, da vi ankom kl. 15. Måtte vente over en time og rykke for, at det blev klar. De havde glemt at stille en flaske vin på værelset, som jeg var lovet på forhånd. Dag to var værelset ikke gjort rent, da vi om eftermiddagen kom hjem for at skifte tøj, så vi måtte bede om at få gjort rent, mens vi gik ud. Dag tre havde de ikke fyldt op med kaffekapsler, da de gjorde rent. Vi fik et handicap-venligt værelse, hvilket betød, at vi skulle sidde ned for at kunne bruge spejl og til dels håndvask.

The hotel and room are not in a good condition. Room was not clean enough and its Visibility was quite poor. We paid a lot for the room and expected for much more. Definitely not value for money! The staff at the reception were great and very helpful. The location is perfect- very walkable to main sights and attractions and close to the metro station. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety.

Das Frühstückspersonal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und immer gut gelaunt, ein echt toller Mann den ihr habt. Die Sauberkeit des Hotelzimmers lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Die Beleuchtung war sehr schlecht, da man nicht jedes Licht einzeln steuern konnte z.B. wenn man auf Toilette gehen wollte, musste man den Hauptschalter an der Tür einschalten, was in der Nacht sehr störend ist, wenn der Partner schläft. Kein Ganzkörperspiegel, nur im Schrank, was sehr störend war, wenn jemand auf Toilette gehen wollte. Generell haben praktische Schalter, Ablagen, Lichter etc. gefehlt, was heute eigentlich Standard ist, sogar in günstigeren Hotels. Insgesamt ist die Raumaufteilung sehr umpraktisch und störend z.B. Badewanne und Fernseher.

On arrival the receptionist was really friendly and engaging. We arrived an hour before check in but noticing it was one of our birthdays that week she worked her magic and managed to find us a room early. She gave us lots of recommendations for bars and restaurants nearby. The room (whilst not to our usual style) was comfortable. Lots of dark wood with a hint of a modern/chic. Only real complaint about the room was that the air con wasn’t that powerful but was ok. If it hadn’t been 35 degrees outside it probably wouldn’t have bothered us in the slightest. Really central location, just a few minutes walk to restaurants, bars, shopping and all the main sites of central Vienna (St Stephen’s cathedral, the opera house etc). Just a warning about breakfast, if you don’t book direct it is €29 each. That was somewhat of a shock when we had only ordered omelettes with bacon and sausage. We did try claw some money back with several pastries and fruit, but it’s still steep.

Fantastic location with well-maintained rooms. We had the Premium room and enjoyed the round window and fluffy robes. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel was very easy to find and get to from the airport (we used the CAT and subway). However, we did not choose to eat breakfast at the hotel as it was far too expensive - €20 per person per night (which was apparently a special offer, meaning that it is usually even more expensive!). Luckily, because the hotel is located right next to Stefanplatz, we had plenty of cheaper breakfast options to choose from nearby (as a comparison to the hotel's price, all breakfast meals that we ate at restaurants cost no more than €30 for two people). We were also sad that the rooftop bar was closed, because the weather was excellent during our stay, and we were looking forward to having a drink there in the evenings. Overall, we would quite happily use the Hotel Topazz to stay in Vienna again, but we were just a little disappointed with a couple of things, which I have mentioned above.

Prestige room in Topazz was interesting. Big windows were great but had to keep the drapes closed at all times for privacy. The glass wall in the bathroom provided for a lovely view outside from the toilet and shower 😆. The room was comfy though and clean and we very much enjoyed our stay. Would stay again but maybe not the prestige room. 🙂

It was very central and the bed was comfortable. Umbrellas were provided when it rained and checkin was easy. It was sound proofed well, we got extra pillows and a complimentary bottle of wine and voucher for rooftop bar. On the downside - the room was a bit narrow and the air conditioning didn`t work. It was very warm with all the windows as we were up high and it was baking (right below the rooftop bar). Overall, a nice hotel and good base to sample Vienna.

Fabulous hotel , in perfect location . Great beds , I had a wonderful stay. Probably would not stay in room 13 again as you are on first floor and need to draw curtains not to be overlooked by the outside world .

This hotel was very close to attractions and extremely walkable. Also, it was close to a metro stop. It could use some repairs and upgrades. Our bathtub had a leaky faucet. We requested an iron and was told they would bring it. They did not. We requested again the next day because we had an event we were going to and wanted to iron our dress clothes. Unfortunately, once again, they said they would bring an iron and then did not. Other than that, our stay was good and the hotel was fine.

Misleading photos and poor service. Unfortunately, our entire experience at Hotel Topazz was a disappointment, from the moment we arrived until the early morning checkout. I’ll start by saying that I have Platinum status, and it’s usually nice to receive some recognition or benefits — but not here. We arrived at 2:00 PM, and the manager at reception was unfriendly and completely unhelpful. Without even checking the system, he informed me that rooms would only be available after 3:00 PM and that no upgrades were possible because the hotel was fully booked. Ironically, I checked online right away- plenty of rooms were still available. So he was simply not telling the truth. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and he refused. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was the beautiful rooftop terrace shown in the photos- I imagined relaxing there while enjoying Vienna. But here’s the shocker: there is no rooftop terrace at all. The terrace you see in the pictures on Expedia and other sites is actually located in a different building across the street, which no longer belongs to the hotel. It’s now a bar with a completely different interior and concept. I couldn’t believe the level of misrepresentation. The room itself was small, worn, and outdated. Yes, the round windows are unique, but that’s about it. I truly don’t understand the high ratings this hotel gets- to me, it felt like a scam and a huge letdown. We checked at 5:00 AM and- there was no one at the reception.

My second stay at this property and certainly not my last. The hotel staff is friendly, helpful and prompt to respond to requests. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The hotel is situated concurrently near dining and public transport. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Topazz.

Great disappointment, especially considering the online reviews for this hotel. The location is perfect, but the services do not match the price. When we arrived around noon, the receptionist was far from friendly, and our room wasn’t ready. We left our luggage and were told we would be contacted by phone or text when the room was available. However, we received no call or message. When we returned at 3 PM, the staff had changed, and they asked if we had received any information about the hotel’s organization—nothing. Please note that we were at the Lamee, not the Topaz; these are two separate hotels, which we only discovered upon arrival. As for the room, there were stains on the wall, ceiling, and unwashed curtains. We also had an issue with hot water in the shower, which was only fixed the next day upon our request. It would be appropriate to provide a kettle with tea or herbal infusions for a hotel of this so-called standard. In summary, the location is perfect, but for a VIP Access hotel at this room rate (around €375 per night), it falls far short of the standards set by the Marriott Courtyard in Vienna.

Stayed in the Topazz building. Very nice boutique hotel in a great location in the centre of Vienna. Room was well appointed with a really nice bathroom and shower!

The hotel is in a very close proximity to Stephanplatz and therefore experiences constant noise day and night. The building where we stayed has a rooftop bar and because of that, and especially on the weekend, the parade in and out of the building in non-stop. Often young and noisy costumers and using the elevator becomes a mission impossible. Lastly, the charge of breakfast is 33Euro per guest, which seems very exaggerated

Ich kann diese Unterkunft wirklich nur weiterempfehlen!! Am besten hat uns das Frühstück gefallen bei welchem man Kaffee und Eierspeisen, sowie Pancakes und Joghurt an den Tisch serviert bekommt. Brot und Aufschnitt konnte man sich am Buffet holen (die Auswahl war total ausreichend und sehr lecker!) Die Zimmer waren sehr edel und sauber, die Betten total bequem und die Rooftopbar eine schöne Anlaufstelle, um den Abend ausklingen zu lassen. Das Personal war sehr bemüht einem den Aufenthalt so bequem wie möglich zu machen. Außerdem war toll, dass man nachmittags in der Snackbar Kaffee und Plätzchen umsonst bekommen hat. Die Lage war perfekt - direkt am Stephansdom und auch nur 5 Min zu Fuß zur Donau, eine bessere Lage hätte es nicht geben können. Es war wirklich toll und ich kann dieses Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Fräscht och trevligt hotell med centralt läge. Nära till det mesta. Fint rum, fräscht badrum, bekväma sängar. Nära till flygbuss och tunnelbanestation. Åt inte frukost på hotellet då denna kostade 25 Euro per person, men det finns många andra trevliga frukostalternativ i omgivningarna. Vi bor gärna på detta hotell igen.

We had the penthouse. It is a really nice room. You have the entire floor, a balcony that wraps around two sides of it with amazing views. The living room and bedroom has walls of glass that look out to the balcony. There are plenty of curtains to cover every inch of it. The breakfast found on level -1 is really good. Wide range of traditional breakfast item form Europe or made to order breakfast as well. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. Our stay was very pleasant. I would stay again.

Hotel incrivel, bem localizado, ótima cama e banho. Muito limpo, bem decorado e com excelente enxoval. O café da manhã, no entanto, deixou a desejar. Não valeu o custo beneficio (33 euros por pessoa).

Svært sentral beliggenhet, hyggelig hotell, kjempebra rom med alle forventede fasiliteter, Hyggelig lounge med god frokost og forfriskninger tilgjengelig resten av dagen. Hyggelig og god service. Anbefales på det varmeste!
