Like efforts to save such an iconic building. Still more work required. Creaky floor boards, needs better sound proofing from traffic (although this did not effect us). I'd stay there again.

The property is a beautiful heritage building that has retained it's charm. The room was large and the spa was welcome after the travel. As with many heritage buildings, the access was via a couple of staircases with no lift access.

The room was huge with all the amenities you could need. Comfortable bed and in the heart of Burnie. There is no lift so carrying bags up multiple flights of stairs was a pain.

My 4th stay in 8 weeks (2 month work contract on the West Coast). Great location to bus interchange on Cattley St & Tassielink bus stop on Mount St. Mecca restaurant is on ground floor, gorgeous rooms are on 1st & 2nd floors, access by stairs. Owner Steve is very helpful with luggage, said to ask bottleshop staff to assist with luggage up & down stairs also. Laura (reception) is an absolute delight, greets you every stay, provides access cards to room & building, happy to give me earlier check in (lunchtime) & late check out. Stayed in Rooms 6 (corner room with partial view of the sea), 7 & 9 (on Mount St) & 11 (back of hotel, quieter room). My 4 rooms were on the 1st floor. All rooms are beautifully fitted out with comfy beds (memory foam mattresses), plump pillows, complimentary bathrobes to use during your stay, heater, fan (no aircon as the Ikon is heritage listed, but rooms have plenty of windows to catch the sea breeze). Well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices, generously stocked complimentary continental breakfast items, orange juice, cereals, yoghurts, milk, plus teas, coffees, hot choc, sugar, stevia, toaster & kettle, microwave, crockery & cutlery. Rooms have modern, large ensuites, some with double showers (6 & 7), or shower over spa bath (9), or single spacious shower (11) with lovely Manuka honey bathroom products (smells good enough to eat but not edible). Every stay was amazing, the 'Ikon' is my 'go to' when staying at Burnie, Tasmania. Sincere thanks!

Getting in was a bit of a challenge as it was Sunday afternoon, the hotel was shut and the manager was away for the weekend. Owner (and very busy business man) Steve responded to my call, and all was soon settled. Our luxury King room was huge (with the world's biggest mirror), had great views and excellent appointments, only a stove top / hotplates being missing, The bathroom was also luxurious, and for the price, the Ikon was excellent value !

Table and chairs in room so made it easy to plan our holiday and journaling. Comfortable bed. All very clean! Great views from the corner room. Hotel is close to restaurants and the penguin observatory. There's no elevator so walking up stairs with luggage is necessary.

Easy check-in process, despite arriving close to midnight. Clear instructions provided on how to use lockbox. I forgot to check where we could park - there is free parking. But it was all sorted next morning with no dramas. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is large. Toiletries are provided. There is no air con due to the heritage listing of the property, but fans and heaters are provided. Well stocked mini bar (pay per item) and continental breakfast provided. We didn't utilise it, but they have a chargeback arrangement with a number of eateries in the area - the cafe and bar on the ground level were not operational at the time of our visit. Very central location. Couple minutes walk to waterfront. 10- 15 min walk to penguin centre - free. The Chapel is on the same block and has excellent coffee and breakfast options - not open on Sunday.

The Ikon is the best place to stay for business travellers to Burnie. The rooms are huge, the decor is stylish, the beds are enormous and best of all, you can't hear the traffic from the highway. The only downfall is the 2-star bar fridge, which has an annoyingly loud hum.

Very spacious, and the bathroom is huge. Great facilities and staff is helpful. The only downside is there is no lift. Other than than, it's wonderful. Our room also has great view of the ocean. Beach is just a about 5 mins walk.

Excellent renovation of an exceptional early 1900’s hotel with views to the ocean and in easy walking distance of all manner of eateries, shopping and a comfortable stroll along the beach. The bed was ‘just right’, as one might say, and the size of the room was astonishing. Easy access in and out of the downtown area made Ikon Hotel very good for all our visits to friends

長距離バス停からは歩いてすぐ、1ブロック程度です。歴史ある建物ですが、中はきれいに整えられていました。部屋は十二分に広く機能的には良かったですが、ホテルスタッフは常駐しておらず、基本電話対応のみ。英語が出来て、旅慣れた方向けです。

While the room was lovely, the mattress was exceptionally uncomfortable. The worst part of it all, however, was the appalling noise from the bar across the road - noise that the accommodation was aware of and did not warn us about. While we received an apology the next morning from the manager, we were also left feeling that we were to blame for not contacting them during the night to let them know. I will certainly be telling anyone looking for accommodation in Burnie that the Ikon hotel is not the best place to stay.

Very spacious, and the bathroom is huge. Great facilities and staff is helpful. The only downside is there is no lift. Other than than, it's wonderful. Our room also has great view of the ocean. Beach is just a about 5 mins walk.

My 4th stay in 8 weeks (2 month work contract on the West Coast). Great location to bus interchange on Cattley St & Tassielink bus stop on Mount St. Mecca restaurant is on ground floor, gorgeous rooms are on 1st & 2nd floors, access by stairs. Owner Steve is very helpful with luggage, said to ask bottleshop staff to assist with luggage up & down stairs also. Laura (reception) is an absolute delight, greets you every stay, provides access cards to room & building, happy to give me earlier check in (lunchtime) & late check out. Stayed in Rooms 6 (corner room with partial view of the sea), 7 & 9 (on Mount St) & 11 (back of hotel, quieter room). My 4 rooms were on the 1st floor. All rooms are beautifully fitted out with comfy beds (memory foam mattresses), plump pillows, complimentary bathrobes to use during your stay, heater, fan (no aircon as the Ikon is heritage listed, but rooms have plenty of windows to catch the sea breeze). Well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices, generously stocked complimentary continental breakfast items, orange juice, cereals, yoghurts, milk, plus teas, coffees, hot choc, sugar, stevia, toaster & kettle, microwave, crockery & cutlery. Rooms have modern, large ensuites, some with double showers (6 & 7), or shower over spa bath (9), or single spacious shower (11) with lovely Manuka honey bathroom products (smells good enough to eat but not edible). Fantastic room - we stayed in room #2. The bathroom was grand - very bright - nice amenities (dryer, shampoo, conditioner, etc). Table and chairs in room so made it easy to plan our holiday and journaling. Comfortable bed. All very clean! Great views from the corner room. Hotel is close to restaurants and the penguin observatory. There's no elevator so walking up stairs with luggage is necessary.

Rooms were lovely, spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were wonderful. Unfortunately our stay was during renovations down stairs in the bar/meals area so can't comment on food etc. Would stay there again!

Getting in was a bit of a challenge as it was Sunday afternoon, the hotel was shut and the manager was away for the weekend. Owner (and very busy business man) Steve responded to my call, and all was soon settled. Our luxury King room was huge (with the world's biggest mirror), had great views and excellent appointments, only a stove top / hotplates being missing, The bathroom was also luxurious, and for the price, the Ikon was excellent value !

Nice old hotel in a great location. Rooms were very spacious, modern, clean and well maintained. Two drawbacks though, there was a nightclub across the road that kept us awake and the hotel had no lift to get up 2 stories with bags.

Good hotel offering large, comfortable, well appointed rooms. Bathroom was the definite highlight having a corner spa bath. Service and check in was excellent. Located in the heart of town and easy access to main attractions. The hotel doesn’t have a lift however the owner assisted with taking our bags up two flights of stairs. Overall I would recommend and definitely use this hotel again.
