Sleepy Hollow Cabins and Hotel

The pool was not clean.

The condition of the cabin was fair, but it was very dirty. It doesn’t look like they ever sweep or dust. The pool was not working and they said it would be cleaned on Saturday. There were no barbecue grills available. We actually checked out on Friday because of the condition of the cabin. I tried to tell the front desk why I was checking out early, but he was too busy on the phone and just said we’re good. To top it off I left my make up bag there and they say they didn’t find it. There’s no other place. I could’ve left it. It was overall a really bad experience. I was hoping that somebody would refund me for the night that we didn’t stay. If that’s at all possible, please contact me. Thank you.

The cabin was dirty, had to clean it. The toilet is made for elves, so low to the ground . The air-conditioning is in the living room only and the there is only a ceiling fan in the bedroom (very warm), luckily we brought a fan with us. The towels were terrible, felt like sandpaper. The pool is dirty and the hot tub doesn't always work. The parking is terrible, there is barely room to maneuver to the parking space. The place is in poor condition. It is definitely in need big repairs and upgrades. The owner should try to look at the property and try to see it from the customers perspective

The property description said it was pet friendly but I didn't see any grass nearby for the dogs to do their business. We had to walk around looking for the best piece of dirt with some weeds. We really liked our cabin. Very roomy and would be great to bring the family.

Great place to stay inexpensively to go boarding on the mountain. Only complaint is tight parking.

No frills cabin in heart of Crestline. Perfect location to walk to stores, dinner, grocery store and bar. Pool was clean and refreshing. Plenty of space for our pup in cabin.

BEWARE! Deserves 0 STARS!!! The husband/wife property owners/managers are HIGHLY unethical. They lied to my face, and to my brother's, when we both asked about turning on the jacuzzi for us to use. Apparently, the hot tub area is locked up and only they can go in and turn it on, which was stated in the ad, but we were told all's we had to do to use it was give them forewarning, as it takes about 90 minutes to heat up, and they would be sure and turn it on for us. We were there 4 days and asked EACH day for them to turn it on and although they said, "OK! will do!" they NEVER turned it on for us. NOT ONCE!! There were no apologies or reasons or excuses as to why, or claims that it was broken or being repaired, they just said they would and didn't. We paid EXTRA to have a hotel with this feature, and it was my brothers ONLY request when suggesting what he wanted in amenities. They also FALSE advertise, stating that the extra beds would be futons, which most people know are fairly comfortable and sleep much like a bed, however that's a lie too. It was a sofa sleeper, which ALL people, (who've slept on one.) know are torture devices, with the metal bars, (My bed had 3!!) running across the bed and I wasn't able to sleep all of the 3 nights we were there. It was PURE HELL!! I highly advise all travelers to avoid this property at ALL costs, unless you enjoy being lied to by bold face LIARS!!! They flat out REFUSED to compensate me even in part, for their actions, or lack thereof.

Pet- friendly

Staff was friendly & quickly provided some things we asked for that the unit was missing. However, there was no futons as shown on the pictures; instead it had old sofa beds that didn't work too well. The extra sheets in the closet were found on top of a bunch of unfolded mound of bedding which makes one question if they were already used & the blanket in the closet had a big stain on it. The pool water was green & mirky. The spa water looked better but had algae in several areas so we did Not use either of them....

This property offers a variety of options... rooms or cabins of various sizes. We stayed in a cabin. It was large and clean. Some may consider it rustic with the mismatched dishes and lumpy furniture. We liked that it was generally quiet and fairly comfortable. However, the jacuzzi could only be described as tepid, and in fact we saw children doing cannonballs into it and screaming, which was probably the only way to enjoy it at that point. And if you want a hot shower, you better be quick because although it started great, the temperature dropped too fast to get the conditioner out.

Dirty bed sheets. I asked for new beddings and I was given somewhat clean with another dirty comforter. The management needs to do a lot of work to get it right.

Maybe it’s just because I got the “chestnut” room. But it looked nothing like the photos. Everything didn’t seem maintained, there were ants in the shower and dried up blood or some liquid on the bed. The room smelt of smoke although it says no smoking. You get what you pay for but it’s not what I was expecting !

We just slept there and watched a little TV. The floor was dirty especially under the beds and there were ants coming from the shower drain. The beds were comfortable. Woke up early and went other places. NOT much to see in town. We walked the town the first day. Did not go to lake Gregory. Spent two days in Big Bear and came back to Sleepy Hollow for the night. NO bites at the hotel or the Long hikes.

Was more of a half way house I booked a hotel not a motel, people living there, because there homeless! Beds were worn out, holes in walls, Fixures out of place, sheets stained, I have pics. I want a full refund we did not stay, came home! Place was a complete scam.

The cabin we stayed in was absolutely filthy. Bedding was stained or thread bare.

The location of Sleepy Hollow is incredibly desirable. It is a short walk to the North Shore of the lake, but the condition of the property is deplorable. So much so that I decide to write a review. The windows are new, but they don't have screens. It's a free-for-all the bugs that are naturally found in a woodsy area. This may even be a city code violation, if they ever came to check. There was dog feces on our balcony. The sofa was filthy. Many of the lightbulbs were out. The toilet clogged the first night we were there. The toilet was held in place with duct tape. I don't believe it's an issue of cleanliness. It appeared to me that management has intentionally decided not to hire a maintenance professional. Rather, they have someone who responds to emergencies. Then there's the price gauging. Their website says that if you stay for three nights, you can get free access to the lake. I called to inquire. They said that was an offer from the prior owner and that it is not something they currently offer. They said they had not updated the website in the three months they owned the place. I asked about making a reservation by phone and they quoted me an additional twenty-five per cent per night over the phone than what was advertised on their own website. That should have been the red flag not to book there, and we never will again.

Very quite but extremely dirty.

1. Excellent TV and reception 2. comfortable bed 1. Terminally clogged sink. It never drained even a little. 2. Non working smoke alarm 3. Not cleaned behind things, ie: cups and creamers on floor behind the fridge. 4. Heavily chipped toilet seat. Looks horrible and filthy. 5. No toilet paper at all in bathroom. 6. Worn out and dirty futon Outside of that it was a great stay.

The man who works in the office was very nice and accommodating, but the hotel itself was disappointing. The water constantly drips out of the bathroom faucet, the water pressure is super hard and uncomfortable, the room wasn’t that clean, there’s no blow dryers.

But the crazy loud band, drunks from the bar next door and a bonfire made it very hard to sleep. So closed them and ended up leaving for health concerns. Tried contacting the office. No answers from us or Expedia tech. Had to go find another room at 1am. And would not refund the stay. Would never stay there again. And I don't ever complain.

Quick trip to big bear area to see the mountains. Nice cabin comfortable bed and clean. The cabin had a kitchen and if we were staying longer it would have been very comfortable. This place is an hour away from Big Bear Lake but very close to Arrowhead Lake.

Stay at Sleepy Hollow for the location. It's located in the town center with easy walking everywhere. It is an older property and a bit dated, but the room was clean.

The motel was quaint mountain-style. (Being in the mountains, this made sense.). But they took it to extremes as many things did not work: CO2 sensor had no batteries, the tv clicker would only allow a single channel, the wifi didn't work, the sink was dripping, and the shower head needed replacing.

The experience was okay, at first the keycard was not working, the room floor was not clean or mopped. The heater made weird noises and the beds need an upgrade. The last night, we had people playing Karaoke around 1am and the front desk was not available. This made the stay uncomfortable.

The lighting wasn’t good and the couch beds were uncomfortable so we had to squeeze onto the king bed.

Very convenient location, Outdated furniture needs better maintenance.

all the cleanliness in the world cannot take away the fact we had no trash can, hand sink leaked from under the countertop and we had two beds to choose from, both hard and lumpy. The pillows were actually nice so that made it an okay stay. Place was immaculate though so kudos to the cleaning lady!!! We couldn’t figure out the fireplace, I believe it was a gas one. It may have been turned off or who knows. The tv was tricky as it had cable, Roku and I guess local digital signal. But otherwise we loved it! We just needed trash cans for personal reasons, we ended up using a grocery bag for our trash, and the leaking sink. I’m sure no one realized it as it was a slow leak for which I stepped into a puddle after washing face and brushing teeth before bed. Overall yea I would definitely book again as the place is beautiful and so is the area. Parking sucks but not bad.

Room was nice. Needs some new lamps little worn. The futon was dirty. Toilet seat didn't fit the toilet. The faucet was backwards.Hot water was on the right cold water was on the left.

Very accommodating

Keeping in mind that we were in a small mountain community, there was not a expectation of luxury or modern amenities. That being said, the facilities were quaint and clean. The TV didn't work at all though. Bruce (at the front desk) was very friendly and helpful. The A/C unit was a bit too noisy. We ate at the nearby diner (which was good) but along the short walk there, the area was dirty, with quite a bit of dog poop piles that we had to avoid. Overall, it was a nice place to stay while in Crestline. I'd stay there again for a night or two and recommend it to others who are going there and need a short-term place. If I had to stay longer than one or two nights, I'd probably try to find a short-term rental instead so that I would have a kitchen to utilize so as not to have to eat out every meal.

I made a reservation at night and informed them ahead of time that I’d be arriving around 2am. They accepted and check in was quick. Staff was very cooperative, courteous, and friendly. Tje cabin my gf and I stayed in was charming and had A fireplace, kitchen, bathtub, and a bedroom. Th. Somewhat dusty. But they wer doing some remodeling around the property. We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to stay another night.

We were given room 3 when we checked in. We went out and returned around 1:30am and when we tried to go into our room there was another couple inside. We went to the front desk and waited almost an hour after Bruce went into other rooms to find an empty. He opened up rooms with other guest inside just to get an answer and us into another room, that was not what we originally booked. This was the worst experience we encountered on a hotel stay. No keys were provided and when I went to check out in the morning, Bruce said it was our fault as his system had staying the following day. I provided him with my confirmation # proving the date was indeed correct on my end and told him that if that was the case why would he give me keys to room 3.

Horrible customer . Front desk never answered pool did not worked checked in was at 3 pm expecting to be at the pool And pool unavailable. Lake sold out. Contacted fronts desk they never answered. Never again coming back DO NOT RECOMMEND owner had no sympathy and did not care ignored us as we asked about the pool. Worst experience ever! A getaways from our work routings turned out to a nightmare. Its was expensive to be just stuck in a hot room.

When we went to check in, the manager could not be found, so the maintenance worker tried to help us. (Although, he tried to charge us and told us we did not pay, until it was proven we paid in full!) I was given a key, straight out of the workers bra, yes, you heard that right... gross!!! These are not key card, but old fashion keys and told, the lock does not work right but just jiggle it. My wife, twin boys, and daughter were sitting in the car and witnessed people passing a crack pipe around. So, we immediately left and did NOT stay there and contacted Expedia immediately. Although we did not get our money back, I called family members and friends and suggested everyone change their hotels. (We had a family wedding of 150 people up in Crestline!) Thankfully, many were able to switch to different hotels. We have stayed at Sleepy Hollow before and found it clean and quaint... we are very saddened at how bad this property has changed.
