The playground was closed and we weren’t notified. We unfortunately had a power outage, which is fine because it wasn’t their fault, but they also didn’t have any supplies for us to use. Apparently it happens often in these places but the hosts weren’t cooperating with us. Overall it’s a vintage place and under new management so it’s worth the price

Arrowbear "cabin" needs major renovation or demolition! No heat, no blanket, just a thin bedspread. When I went to phone the front desk for a blanket, I realized there was no phone in the room. I put on most of my clothes to stay warm.The grounds are uneven and unlit, so walking to the front desk building would have been unsafe. Microwave didn't work, 2 of the 3 light bulbs were burnt out. Floor in the kitchen is literally sinking, so linoleum is coming up. Bed old and too soft, old foldout couch sunken in. No central AC, just a weird unit standing in the room. Smells; old ashes in fireplace, mildewy bathroom. I stepped on carpet tacks sticking up from transition between lino and carpet. Room was clean. Pool was clean. Parking was very difficult. I had to move my car so other guests could get out.

This was a bait and switch or a catfish. There was no pool access, no AC and it was 90 degrees in the room and the room had a gas leak. I value my life so I did not stay the night.

It was ok. Had a gas leak in the first room they offered. Second room wasn’t as clean/nice. Playground was caution taped. My granddaughters were pretty bummed. It’s ok for the price. But if you’re not into “roughing it”! Then don’t stay here. Bare minimum for the price

Location was cool, parking was fine. Rooms were spacious enough. There were black spots on the Comforter and there were no bed sheets and the heater didn't generate heat and we were very very cold all night. And the dead bolt didn't work.

Lots of space with a separate living room and full service kitchen. Amenities around the site include a nice pool, a gazebo with a fire pit and BBQ grills and trees everywhere.

The cabin I rented was filthy. The carpet was not vacuumed. The previous visitors left dirty snot tissue near the bed and a dirty shaving razor in the bathroom. There was a used Covid test outside. The outside fire pit was not working. The neighbors who checked in minutes before me complained they had no heat in their cabin. At 7 am one guest was screaming to the top of her lungs because her cabin had no blankets. It costs over 300 dollars a night so she has every right to be upset. What place charges 300 a night and has no blankets or heat in the cabins. I didn’t mind so much cleaning up more than I should have. But lord have mercy it was a terrible.

Loved cabin, but it needs love. Pool closed, heater in room doesnt work, sink fixtures not secure etc. Very nice people and area, it just needs maintenance. Quiet area and nice staff. Tub and kitchen were great

Super clean, and quiet.

Only needed a night on the mountain due to being at an event, so I went cheap.. There is no excuse for not having the property clean.. everything was rundown and dirty.. seemed like there was zero effort and pride in the property..Pool was green, cabin was unkempt and rundown.. Mattress was soiled, only one sheet, no fitted sheet, no proper heat.., mold and mildew in the shower, carpet appeared to have not been vacuumed, dirty sock left under bedspread.. but, it was 80 bucks a night so you get what you pay for..

Dirty blankets in the trundle bed Moldy shower and no remote for the nice tv. P.s. the firewood in the fireplace will.not light in Bluejay, don't bother trying, will just smoke up rhe room.

We really wanted to like this place. I did not expect perfection from an older place. Things were unacceptable. We would never go back or refer a friend. We stayed in the Sherwood. The room was very dirty in area. The bathroom is tiny and had mold. The kitchen had rat or mouse droppings in the cabinets. Kitchen walls were dirty. Windows did not open properly. The beds were actually the cleanest part of the room. Carpet soiled. Our room was connected to the front office by a door. We felt like we had no privacy and could hear everything when the office was in use. We lost power first night there. Power was out from 9pm till 8am. That was inconvenient. Come to find out it was for scheduled maintenance. Hotel should have know this and made us aware. Owners of the hotel would make phone calls right outside our room. Totally disturbing our sleep.

The check in process with employer was fine, she was nice and welcoming. We got there a little earlier than regular check in time. Once I entered the room and the beds were not done the sheets were messed up and the lady asked me if we could give her an hour to have the cleaning lady take care of the room. I had no problem with that. Came back like 2 hrs later the beds looked done. Until my daughters opened up the bed covers at night time and there were many black hairs in the bed sheets. There was trash under the bed, chip bags, empty water bottles etc. overall the place was not clean, atleast for my liking . Lots of dust and stains on the walls and some bed sheets.One of the cabinets had a pair of earrings left behind meaning no one had looked in there to clean. The kitchen had blinds that were torn in half, so there was no chance for privacy in there. There were also unfinished cabinet work or shelf’s with pieces of wood just laying there. The bathroom only had less than half of a toilet paper roll and WiFi password displayed in the room was incorrect. Just felt like I had to keep bugging the employee for things needed. Also towels were almost raggedy and super harsh and thin. The employee was nice but I feel they definitely need to hire someone else to clean up the rooms or speak to the cleaning staff to increase cleanliness. I didnt expect 5 star amazing cleanliness or anything, just descent but I wouldn’t stay here again.

We started off in room with a heater that was nonfunctional and a bathroom you could smell from five feet away. There was used toilet paper on the floor. The sheets on the pull out bed were clearly used and not even washed. Following this, I raised a complaint to the management and they moved us to a bigger room. In this new room while the heater was functional, the sheets were still clearly unwashed. There were popcorn kernels stuck to them and the bed was not even tucked. I stayed due to a lack of other options but would not recommend this property to anyone at any point in time.

It was very roomy, 2 floors, friendly welcoming staff, needs updating needs kitchen utensils and dinnerware No silverware available.

The TV did not have decent reception and kept booting us offline. The heater was very very old and it was difficult to find a comfortable temp. The plumbing was an issue in the shower and was leaking, dripping and noisy. There was trash on ground.

Big bear room was very nice our 2nd time booking the big bear room

The place was a little bit rundown. The pillows and beds were very cheap very uncomfortable. I would probably never stay here again.

The motel appears to be in process of updating. My room was part of a cabin at one time and walls were not very sound absorbant. Everything was clean and bed was comfortable.

The bed was hard as a rock and you need to carry your passwords if you want to watch TV with an iffy internet connection. The room was clean, the cabins are vintage and the grounds are surrounded by beautiful tall trees.

I purchased the room on expedia. It showed pictures of one thing. Get there and they said it was a twin bed, onlyeant for 1 person. That if i wanted the room i described (the ones in the pictures) that i would have to pay another $20. Bait and switch.

When me and my friends arrived, the manager (who was wearing pajamas the entire time) did not greet us and was not friendly at all. When we got our keys, I went over to one of our rooms we booked. There was an A and a B room with the same name, and I accidentally opened the wrong room to find a man sleeping in there. Meaning that my key for my other room worked for all of the other locks!! So dangerous and scary. The pool was closed which would have been nice to know in advance. Our neighbors were smoking weed in their room and we could smell it in our room and they were also vomiting all night and blasting a movie. Everything in our room was falling apart and run down. Would not recommend staying here ever.

I would not recommend this place. They cheated me for $20 because we checked in very late even tho they said they have 24 hr front desk. I had no choice but to agree because we had no other place to go. The guy that was there did not tell usanything about their wifi, tv does not work. It’s just a mess. Do not go to this place , I would rather pay more for another place next time. We are not happy

The room was not ready, I waited an hour, but the person who attended me at my check-in was very friendly and that makes the difference. He was kind, friendly, good service

Staff was excellent, excessive noise from the room above, children left unattended and/or allowed to jump off furniture and scream until 2:30 am several nights in a row is my only complaint... otherwise it was a nice place.

It is winter and the heaters did not work. The staff came in one time without knocking or anything just opened the door and walked in.

Place was nice. Loved that each cabin had its own space. Staff was very helpful. Place was very clean. Really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend!

My family and I stayed here for a night and we regret not staying for more nights. We absolutely loved staying here literally 7 minutes drive to lake Gregory. There are small stores around the town . Front desk assistant was amazing and so kind . Rooms were clean . Ceiling fans throughout the cabin one of our room had ac .

This was a great deal for our family of 5. It was kind of like getting the keys to your Uncle's cabin for the weekend. The place is clean, spacious and rustic. There is wear and tear on the place, but for me it added to the charm. If you're a critical, uptight person that expects white glove treatment, you're probably better off booking elsewhere. If you're up for a quick, mountain get away this is a good choice. The staff is laid back. A nice change from neurotic city life. Close to all the Crestline hotspots.

I brought my dad up here for Father's Day and it was amazing!! We had such a great time and our cabin was beautiful and quiet. Will definitely be coming back

Very quiet and amenable .

No room to maneuver around the bed, zero plugs in the bathroom, the bed was not comfortable at all, had to wait 15 minutes to find someone so i could check in, waited 45 minutes for someone so i could check out (they never showed, so i left the key in the room). Positives- It was absolutely gorgeous where it's located. It's in the middle of a neighborhood but you can't really tell.

Property was old school and amazing! Surrounding area was amazing about a five minute drive from the lake! The staff was so nice to us during our stay!! Would definitely be back. We had our own balcony in the big bear room 10/10
