Tounomine Kanko Hotel

This is a historic Japanese ryokan located right in front of Tanzan Shrine, set in a quiet mountain area. The building itself is old and not a traditional Japanese structure, but the clean guest rooms are tatami-style Japanese rooms. There are no restaurants nearby, so it is recommended to include both breakfast and dinner. The staff are very kind, and the local Japanese-style barbecue served at dinner was especially delicious.

The dinner was amazing and we felt welcome and well cared for.

This hotel was easily one of the best hotels we stayed in Japan. The hotel rooms have a proper ryokan feel and the hotel staff are the nicest people I have came across in Japan. We didn’t even ask them for a shuttle pick up from our bus stop but a car with a driver was already there They provide free shuttle to and fro Sukurai station which I wish I knew from before. Oh and the views from the rooms are just exquisite. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat. My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer than one night.

L’hébergement est incroyable quand on recherche le vrai Japon - la chambre est très spacieuse - les yukatas sont prêtés afin de se plonger dans cette ambiance japonaise - nous avons très bien dormi sur les fuyons - les repas étaient très bons et le personnel est d’une gentillesse incroyable !! Merci pour ce moment de plaisir
