Hotel Squamish

Price was OK compared to the other overpriced accommodations nearby. It was 30C and no A/C & only a couple of small windows. There was a fan but....... There was a small mini fridge with no setting control I could find. The coffee maker still had the previous occupants coffee grounds in it. I was on the 2nd floor so hike up 2 flights, no elevator.

Clean and basic. Very few facilities but perfectly ok for the price. Free parking and eateries nearby

The hotel didn't have an elevator or a lift for disabled persons like myself who just has undergone a total knee replacemet on my left knee. The rooms were on the 2nd floor and the stairs going to the 2nd floor was a winding staircase which was not safe. I couldn't even hold on to the hand rail that was too close to the wall. My hand couldn't go through. I would like to file a complaint to BC Health & Safety to have their winding stairs inestigated as this is a health hazard for the guest. The guest can't hold on both sides of the stair railing.They should also have warning in their ads that their rooms are only accessible by the stairs and yet their stairs are not safe. You should look into these health and safety matters as these are serious matters specially if there are fires or earthquakes . The frontdesk wasn't also manned . When one guest forgot her key there was no one in the front desk or in the office to help. She had to ask for help from us to call a hotel personnel.

This hotel is "ok" across the board. Ok bed, ok bathroom, ok facilities. Many of the amenities were down when I was there.

Stairs a hazard

Great for hikers. They have laundry facilities with a boot dryer.

Excellent accommodation for hikers with laundry facilities available.

The room smelled of mildew and there was mould in the bathroom.

Bed Bugs

The room was not clean and also didn't match the representation shown in the photo before I booked with this hotel.

Would not recommend! Stains on blankets, mold in and around tub/shower. Tub was dirty, stained. Room was very hot due to no AC. The whole place is very run down, I realize it’s a inexpensive stay but would not stay again.

Room was spotless. Quiet 24/7! Nice wide hallways. It’s an old hotel but staff are great, bed is perfect! Sheets and towels are new and white. I was able to extend my stay without complication for an extra day at the discounted rate! I had a great relaxing stay!

Small room, no ventilation, uncomfortable bed, dirty washroom

No elevator, parking limited, very noisy (thin walls; I could hear other guests sneezing, turning taps on and talking in the hall), and overall very poorly renovated (clothing hooks are falling off the wall, stained bathroom ceiling, lack of lighting and outlets). No counter space in the bathroom. Microwave was very dirty on the inside, fridge makes static noise at night. Housekeeping comes and changes towels daily, but did not seem like they cleansed the floor and do not make beds. Staff was friendly. Bedding/sheets were clean.

Hotel Squamish was not a pleasant experience. When we arrived, within the hours that we were told the front desk was open, there was no one in the hotel and calling the number posted on the door didn’t help. We ended up needing to go to the liquor store next door to find someone to help us. The woman who finally appeared in the liquor store was not friendly and they did the checking at the liquor store. Getting into our room, the hallways stank, but thankfully it didn’t permeate the room as much. In our room, there were yellow liquid stains on one wall, the bathroom was in disrepair, and the TV was broken. The only positive thing I can say is ‘at least we didn’t see any bugs’. Will not be staying there again.

For the money it was fine, take this in mind when booking. Friendly guy on reception. Rooms dated. Great shower. Room was clean till I looked under the bed. Bedding was clean. Plenty of towels. Good budget hotel.

Property was decent. Sheets were dirty as they had a visible crusty stain that clearly hadn't been washed. A/c filter was completely clogged had to clean myself. Window facing the street with no darkening shades, was very bright in the room.

Location is good. That is the only thing that was good. Room had no closet, not even a hook behind a door to hang a dress. No bedside table on either side of the bed. No airconditioner, just a fan. Had to ask for a hairdryer and no ironing board or iron in room. Room was very old. Bathtub was chipped, duvet had a hole in, electrical outlet in bathroom did not work. This is not worth the money even at $145/night.

This is a very old, historic building with some charm, but doesn't rate well in terms of modern comfort. The floors are not level, the air conditioner too noisy - had to turn it off at night and leave the windows open. The shower worked well, but there was nowhere to put clothes or toiletries. It's in a good location and quite manageable for the price, but basic and rated as 2 stars.

Hollow walls..conversations and noise from other rooms a constant distraction.

Very old had to climb 2 sets of stairs no Elevator. Very pricey for a basic no frills.no microwave only a small fridge. Ice at liquor store but wasn’t open to get ice.thin walls needs upgrades.

This particular room had no hooks, hangers, closet, dresser or desk. Not even a nightstand. Window blinds were missing, just the top portion of the mechanism there, so there's just a privacy shade. Great room darking solution 🙄, no blinds for the bathroom window. Other rooms did have dressers, microwave, A/C unit, etc. Unless you just need a bed and bathroom, pass on room 208 at all costs. We plan on another trip to Squamish next year but will stay elsewhere.

Terrible bed and pillows. On the plus side you can hear conversations in every other guest room so you get all the juicy gossip. You literally can hear everything everyone is doing, it makes for a very restful sleep, unless of course, you’re sleeping on the bed with their pillows. It’s cheap, because, well, it’s cheap.

The hotel was very clean but the walls were paper thin, as expected in an older building. Some of the expected amenities were missing, like tissue paper and room-darkening drapes. The staff were lovely people and the location was fabulous.

This was a cheaper and decent place to stay for just sleeping, but also be prepared in the Summer time to either bring your own stuff to keep cool as they only had one oscillating fan. I realized after I did not filter my options for A/C only, but it was okay for just a nights sleep.

After 4 different sets of keys failed we had to keep going to the liquor store downstairs to get the attendant to let us into our room each time we went out. This limited our time we could be out to before 11:00 when they closed. Overall not a great experience.

No one seemed to work at the front desk. The lady from the liquor store came to help us. She was lovely to deal with but just seemed strange that there was no one manning the front desk. Even though the hotel is old, it was clean. The mattress wasn't the best as it seemed to sink in the middle. The shower was amazing, almost too strong 😊 Would definitely come back.

It would be helpful if check in information was available I arrived around 945 pm and door to hotel was locked and no information provided for late arrival guest. I went next door to the liquor store to ask and the person working there checked me in. The next night a couple arrived and same thing they had no idea what to do so I shared my prior night experience and sent them to the liquor store. The hotel is great location, safe and the bed was comfortable but the place looks run down with shower and bath in poor condition and shower wall liners peeling off of wall. Air conditioning unit loud and barely effective at cooling room. I think some updating and repair this place would be amazing. The hotel for the cost is an ok place to stay but i will look for different accommodations on my next stay.

The rooms are so stinky. The kitchen utensils are there in room was dirty too. Bathroom was not clean at all. I waited 45 minutes at front door for checking in. No one is available at the front desk or for a reseption desk for service at any time. A sigle persone who is running a liqueur store near the hotel is managing the chekcing and checkout.

Location, costs

The receptionist was friendly and corteus but he assigned us a very poor room: the window did not open to let in some cooler air in the evening, outside was a noisy central air conditioning unit, which however was not connected to our room. Our room was sweltering hot, with a very noisy but completely inneficient single AC unit and a fan. The night was not a pleasant one. There was no breakfast, and there was no microwave or a toaster in the room. The bath tub was discolored or dirty, not sure which. The hotel needs updating.

Conviently located close to restaurants

Very unique historic property - was built in 1910 as housing for itinerant loggers. That said, the rooms are small and there isn't much parking. Building is on the corner of two streets and there is a liquor store and restaurant on the first floor, so there's steady activity and noise until later in the evening, but overall good value for the cost.

It was a basic room, just perfect for what I wanted. No phone, no pool, no breakfast, but it suited me fine

The rooms are very quaint. The bathroom and pretty much everything needs some updating. There was some black mold in the bathroom above the tub/shower that needs addressing. It was a nice one day. Stop, stay one night and go kind of place. There is a great restaurant below the hotel, and is the only high-end restaurant that I could find in the area and the food was awesome. Highly recommend the restaurant.

Great downtown location, close to various food choices. Room needs small comfortable chair for reading. NOISY EXHAUST FAN OUTSIDE WINDOW OF 115 ALWAYS ON!
