Another good Parador. A warm welcome on arrival. Staff throughout the stay were polite & attentive. Room was immaculate and a decent size. Breakfast was a relaxed affair with a sufficient selection. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent and well presented. Parking on site was very good.

Der Parador ist mit Abstand das beste Hotel in der Gegend. Geräumige Zimmer mit großem Bad. Das Restaurant ist gut mit normalen Preisen. Das Frühstück überraschend vielfältig, mit glutenfreien angeboten, viel frisches, Laktosefreiem etc. Der Pool hat leider nur Abends geöffnet ab 16:30, was doof ist weil man vormittags nicht noch mal eine Bahn schwimmen kann. Der Spa Bereich kostet stattliche 35€. Aus meiner Sicht Zuviel für was geboten wird. Parken klappt reibungslos.

We really enjoyed our 3 day stay as a base to explore the Lorca area. On the whole (apart from one young man on reception for 2 of the nights we were there who was quite abrupt and appeared to present as someone we were interupting) the staff were amazing often going above and beyond to improve our stay. The rooms were spacious, well appointed, clean and comfortable. There were 2 restaurants, one was silver service and one was more bar style meals, both had good menus and were good value for money. The continental breakfast was included in the price of our stay and included an excellent choice of food. The indoor pool was free to use, towels were provided and it was perfect for a bit of exercise. All spa use and treatments had to be paid for. The only thing we were disappointed about was the hotel didn't have an outdoor pool or even a sun terrace which we felt was a shame given everything else it had to offer. The hotel is built within the well preserved ruins of Lorca Castle and the history attached to the ruins is very interesting.

Beautiful hotel very clean and spacious. Staff super friendly and informative. My only gripe was that the swimming pool is not open until 4pm when we aways like to swim before breakfast. Rooms large with all amenities you could need as we had left our toiletries in our last hotel 200 miles away

Hotel is beautifully built and is a special in how’s it’s been constructed next to the castle. But there’s aspects we felt let it down - the swimming pool was freezing (it can’t be heated apparently) & so was too cold to swim. A charge to use the spa (which we paid) & it really wasn’t worth the money. Choice of food limited & no nice bar space to sit and have a drink.

It c was just what we needed, a complete chill out. After a hectic few months where the stress off life had taken hold we booked this long weekend away. The staff were really attentive in all departments. The spa facilities and treatments were superb. Dining in the restaurant and the cafe were delightful and the breakfast was really very good.

SPA access is NOT included except pool and cost is 35 euro per person. There is no bar service in pool/spa and you are not allowed to bring drinks as they don’t have plastic glasses. Restaurant has good service and food but opens late 20:30, no walking distance to anything else.

This was the 4th Parador of our trip and our expectations were high, because it’s set in the grounds off an archaeological site featuring ruins dating back to the 10th century. Maybe this is why we were sooo disappointed. When you’re in the lobby with all that grandeur you would expect you room to be to par; unfortunately this wasn’t the case. The room was smallish, dark, with tiny windows, cheap-looking furniture, and in dire need of some paint. The bathroom wall and ceiling were a disgrace, and shower glass and hairdryer hook need repair. I must admit that the view was nice. The dining room had no charm and the chef didn’t seem to know what he was doing. My husband asked for a filet mignon medium-rare and the meat came completely raw, (the cow was still mooing). Unlike the other 3 Paradores, this one had no complimentary bottle of water and coffee/tea maker. Nowhere around to buy anything , plus the road to go up and down is very narrow and dangerous with a flimsy wooden guardrail. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Rooms old fashioned but spotlessly clean. Staff mixed. Some really nice, some gave the impression They could not care less. Bar area lacking in any kind of ambience and a bit of an afterthought. Also constantly having to find staff to order/ pay for drinks. Great meal there first time, awful second time. I felt like the chef was on his night off the 2nd visit. Need to work on consistent service in my opinion. Unfortunately I would not return

Excellent location at the Castillo. Good sized room, very clean. Very comfortable mattress. The main problem is the town is far below and hard work to walk to and from. For this reason we ate in the hotel restaurant as we couldn't face another walk up the hill. In fact it turned out to be an exceptional restaurant.

Vaya por delante que es un establecimiento de primerísima fila, de limpieza impecable y decoración exquisita en su exterior y espacios comunes. Pero es tremendamente incómodo. Está situado en el castillo de Lorca, 200 m. sobre la ciudad. se accede por una carretera de sentido único, y se desciende por otra. Si conducir de día impresiona, de noche mejor no hacerlo. Y eso es lo que hicimos, bajar a pie, y subir en taxi. Pero Viernes Santo tardaban horas, y a partir de una hora, ya no daban servicio. Algún taxista se negó a dar servicio. Las habitacines espartanas, y las vistas, a pesar de la situación inexistentes. En los pisos 4 y 5, cara a la pared. con una pequeña ventana. Baños de marmol, pero todavía con bañera. Sin cafetera en la habitación ni ningún tipo de alfombra. Cafetería cerrada a la hora del desayuno, o sea que hay que ir al buffet, no tienes alternativa en ese nido de águilas. El servicio muy amable, hace lo que puede, pero sin apurarse. En fin, subir a comer es muy recomendable. El restaurante es muy bueno, y se puede ver el catillo, tomar café con vistas maravillosas, Eso sí vale la pena. Quedarse a dormir NI LOCO.

Lovely location, staff excellent and friendly, restaurant food was faultless 5* at least. In general the hotel is wonderful. Room felt little basic and dull lighting, lacking some of the little touches you expect in 4* hotel, e.g. no free water in room, no bathroom essentials. Having said that was wonderful experience and would stay again but maybe in upgrade room.

Excellent location at the Castillo. Good sized room, very clean. Very comfortable mattress. The main problem is the town is far below and hard work to walk to and from. For this reason we ate in the hotel restaurant as we couldn't face another walk up the hill. In fact it turned out to be an exceptional restaurant.

Beautiful place with an incredible view but the service was in general not good and cold… They also didn’t want to open the terrace to have dinner because of the « wind » whereas the cafeteria/bar did the service on the terrace! At the reception, almost no information was provided to us. I recommend for the place but clearly not for the service.

Unfortunately this could have been a very good stay but the customer service reply to a disappointing breakfast lets it down. The room was nice but some things are aging e.g. the handle in the shower is super wobbly. At breakfast, which isn't cheap at nineteen per head, I asked for just a plate of scrambled eggs (the self-serve buffet is only cold or ambient food), and after 27 minutes I ask if the eggs on the trolley of food coming out is mine and was told it was for another table - the server pointing at the table of 10 which arrived after I had asked for the eggs. It should not take so long for eggs to come. I sent an email to the hotel to explain my experience and was told: "We are so sorry to hear about your experience at breakfast. We will forward your complaint to the restaurant team. We hope to receive you on another occasion." ... I thought I would at least be offered a discounted breakfast on my next stay but instead I will not be visiting again.

Spectacular location, up next to old castl. Our window looked out on castle at sunrise. Staff was helpful; loaned us a cellphone recharger cable for one we had lost and told us where to buy another. Hotel seemed strangely empty in afternoon and evening, but in the morning at check-in checkout there were plenty of people. To get to hotel, take GPS option that avoids mid-town. Both of our GPS options got lost trying to take routes that went by Plaza España.

This was the 4th Parador of our trip and our expectations were high, because it’s set in the grounds off an archaeological site featuring ruins dating back to the 10th century. Maybe this is why we were sooo disappointed. When you’re in the lobby with all that grandeur you would expect you room to be to par; unfortunately this wasn’t the case. The room was smallish, dark, with tiny windows, cheap-looking furniture, and in dire need of some paint. The bathroom wall and ceiling were a disgrace, and shower glass and hairdryer hook need repair. I must admit that the view was nice. The dining room had no charm and the chef didn’t seem to know what he was doing. My husband asked for a filet mignon medium-rare and the meat came completely raw, (the cow was still mooing). Unlike the other 3 Paradores, this one had no complimentary bottle of water and coffee/tea maker. Nowhere around to buy anything , plus the road to go up and down is very narrow and dangerous with a flimsy wooden guardrail. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Will become from now on a client for this hotel chain "Paradores" We stayed during the Electric blackout and the generators worked perfectly for everything, elevators, and kitchen.
