First off the online rate is double the walk in rate. Do not reserve this room online since it will be $99 a night for a Friday night stay. Carpet was dirty, bathroom door was off the track so could not use, knob missing from the AC so no way to control temp. Parking lot is small, hard to turn a truck around. Room smelled of mold also. Very close to the road and at 4:30 am the traffic begins to flow including dump trucks. Will never stay here again.

I knew this was an older motel . The rates were a good deal for the area . When booking on hotels.com there is a place to put in special requests . I said I’m disabled have asthma and request a no pet no smoking room . Never heard from them assumed it was fine .I got there and the room was a flash back from 1972. Small , smelled like ashtrays and like your grand mother’s musty cellar . Dirty . Went to office woman said she would show me other rooms . All the same . I said what about the upgraded rooms . She showed me one . No step in but a step up in to the Bath room . Prior room had a multiple step entrance. None of the rooms have a fridge or microwave . I did not see a table and chair , bureau or night stands in the upgraded room . No usb ports .They upgraded my room . Another couple left after seeing their room . The attendant was nice and friendly . No breakfast . The offer to show rooms prior to booking . I will not be back again

The road noise was loud. The room was old and funky but it served its purpose. There was no interior lock other than the door knob. The sign out front advertising all rooms $69 which seemed appropriate for the room. We paid much more than that. The location worked out ok, we were close to Acadia NP. There was no coffee maker, hotpot or any way to make morning tea/coffee. In addition, there were no options for food or coffee within walking distance. Overall it was inexpensive for what I could find on line. Not sure if I would stay there again.

The receptionist was friendly and provided coffee, microwave, and ice at registration for access any time. There were 2 outdoor chairs at room’s entrance which was nice for sitting outside. Robbins Motel had 2 very good restaurants within walking distance, which was a real plus. When we arrived the room was clean. However, there were 2 checked in to our room. We had 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 1 bath mat, and 2 wash clothes to ‘share’. Stayed 3 days. The towels were never replaced with clean ones, Initially provided disposable plastic cups in room. We had zero housekeeping services during the stay. The room was inexpensive and available.

Easy check in. Room seems to tilt forward. The guy next door kept taking half of my assigned space making it impossible to park. The property needs some serious fixings inside and outside. No microwave nor fridge in room. I wouldn’t stay there again.

I was grateful to get a cheaper room to stay near the park. Very clean. Room felt old but repaired well. Good space for dresser/closet. Wall heater ancient didn't work well but did make heat. Nice people. I had to walk to office to use microwave but that was OK, I saved money staying there. Nice chairs outside to sit at night& see the stars. My GPS took me miles away using their street address, but my phone map helped me get back.

First got an old room. Flushed toilet and no refill. Took a shower and barely had any water. Went to office and asked for another room. Got an exchange which was a remodeled room as shown in there advertising. Much nicer. No refrig or micro or coffee in room. Ice, coffee and micro in office if needed. This room was clean but still not much for water pressure.

We had absolutely no water pressure in the shower. Husband was in the shower and literally did not have water to rinse off. Toilet clogged with little toilet paper. Told front desk she stated she'd see if maintenance was still around an hour later she was seen walking away and when asked if maintenance was coming she ignored. Found bedbugs, blood stains and not just a cpl I mean alot. Absolutely nasty.

Quality was about as expected for this price. We didn’t need anything special since we were spending long days in Acadia. The place was clean and had daily house keeping. Very out dated and some broken ceiling tiles, but clean. AC worked great. The room fit our need perfectly and didn’t break the bank

We booked knowing the property was outdated I was hoping that it would be clean at the minimum. I was shocked to see how clean it was! We stayed in the classic room and it was exactly like the picture. The bed was hard and the bathroom was small. It’s definitely a flash back to the 80s/90s. Paneling on the walls, pink shower and sink, stripe carpet, and that musty smell from the paneling. The room was CLEAN though! If you are looking for a good bargain (without the bugs) and can tolerate the bare minimum, you will be just fine!! The staff are friendly and accommodating as well!

Pictures on site is NOT the rooms you get. Panels are split, carpet is old and worn. Room door is split in places and can see light coming in frame. Smells of mold, a lot of it. No water pressure in shower. Bates Motel would be ashamed. Front staff were very nice.

You get what you pay for! Didn't mind it being old but - outside door had up to a 3/4" gap letting in cold air, no extra blankets or pillows, bathroom floor had a big hole by the toilet, sliding door to bathroom didn't work. Hot & cold water were backwards, no coffee in lobby as promised, poor lighting. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Convenient located. Property is in poor repair, entrance door & lock are a cheap interior door and handle lacking any safety measures. Lighting is almost none existent, 2 small 25 watt wall lamps that you could not read by. AC unit does not work, filter was clogged and smelled. Bathroom was clean but dangerous - sink is loose and tub is raised 9-10 inch off floor you need to step up to get in and getting out is very dangerous if you do not hold on to the grab bar and sink/wall tub floor is very slippery. Sheets were clean, towels are clean but very worn.

Liked the location but the rooms are not the same as the pictures online. Room was very old and outdated. The main door outside had a crack in the bottom to where you could see daylight right outside. Staff was friendly but the rooms need to be renovated. Lights were flickering and some didn't even work. Not enough plugs in the room for my cpap and laptop. No mini fridge to help keep drinks cold. Ice machine was in the office and very small. I filled my little bucket that I bought and the ice machine was then empty.

The room was dry and relatively clean. The floor was slanted, bed was very uncomfortable and the sheet and blanket were tissue thin. There was a huge gap between the door and the jam that let in light, air and noise. There was an old heater on the wall that would not stay on so we froze all night. Very very old from the walls to drapery to furniture. Weird lighting as the light bulbs were yellow. Pricing was stramge as different prices online, on check in paperwork to signage.

The rooms closest to the highway are noisy as you can hear trucks and vehicles drive be al night. Better insulation would probably help. The door had a noticeable gap all the way around its perimeter that light was noticeable and did not help with the road noise.

The property is beginning renovations, but is mostly still in need of updating. We stayed where the rooms have yet to be updated since probably 1950. The rooms are cleaned, because you can smell the fabulosa. The windows are so old i felt slightly unsafe, but mostly because there was a man outside pacing back snd forth at all hours, almost the entire trip. He didn't borher us, but his strange presence made it worrisome, snd i do wonder why the hotel allows him to hang around. The staff was polite and reponsive.

Normally, when I have a bad experience I do not write a review. This time I feel obliged to. I booked this place two months in advance for Memorial Day Weekend. The day before we were set to arrive they cancelled my reservation, no reason given, they simply sent a message. So, I called. They told me they wouldn't re-reserve the room for me nor honor the price if I rebooked. They doubled the price, I had no choice. It was Memorial Day weekend, everything was booked. Also, when we attempted to check in nobody came to the front desk. We waited 30 minutes, left and went to dinner. When we returned somebody was at the desk. When we arrived there was a sign in the driveway advertising the old price. I asked her to honor the price a 2nd time, no, I'd already paid online, no changes allowed. Okay, they ripped me off. At least I thought the room would be nice. No, it looks like the inside of a 1970's Winnebago. Wood walls, wood ceiling, sliding bathroom door, no refrigerator, no microwave. And, a tiny double bed... I'd recommend you stay anywhere else but this place. If you absolutely insist on staying here, do not reserve beforehand. Just show up, it's such a dump it doesn't sell out and you'll probably get the advertised price from the wood sign in the driveway The house cleaner did a great job.

The room we stayed in was dated, but clean. The bathroom is super tiny, but serves its purpose. It was quiet and uneventful, which I prefer. Staff was friendly, but hard to locate as they were not on sight, but showed up within minutes of calling.

When we went to check in there was no key and the hostess spent 15-20 minutes looking for one. She apologized several times then called manager who evidently made one without apology. Kickplate on door held on by 2 screws so flapped when door opened/closed. Smoke detector hanging by wires. Hot water infrequently. Uncomfortable and noisy bed. Insufficient towels for 2 people, sink appears ready to fall off the wall. Servicing of room consisted of emptying trash can and nothing else. Room was reasonably clean, but ground by steps full of cigarette butts.

The check in was the most bizarre experience I’ve ever had. It was almost dark and we had to go into an office and push a button on a beat up old intercom to call staff. She was managing this hotel, as well as the one across the street. There was a large billboard advertising all rooms $79/night, which drew several people to the hotel to check in the same time we were. Note: This was not what we paid through Expedia ($105 weekdays and $125 on Friday). With the chaos in the small checkin area I didn’t notice until after we checked in there was a discrepancy on the bill. I figured I would address the issue later, as we had things to do, places go… Upon checkout I paged the staff member and questioned the sign out front. She told me she was across the street and would not come over and I would have to call Expedia to deal with the issue. We chose this motel for the location and honestly didn’t expect much, except maybe a step above camping. That’s basically what it was. Housekeeping provided very little service and was random. Don’t expect much and call the hotel before booking through Expedia to check their rates.

I walked into the room and was overcome by the strongest scent of cleaning products I have ever smelled and immediately got a headache. The odor was an immediate red flag to cover up another horrific stench I am sure. It actually made my throat scratchy. We were so freaked out that we immediately booked a stay elsewhere just to get out of there as soon as humanly possible. The staff was overall unfriendly, unavailable, and unhelpful. I couldn’t even rate the cleanliness of the place fairly because I didn’t stay long enough to look. As far as Expedia was concerned they also couldn’t help me. They were unable to reach the hotel staff at the desk (as I wasn’t able to either). I’m extremely disappointed by Expedias rating system and inability to help. This motel was rated a 7.5/10 SOMEHOW when I think a 2/10 is realistically still too generous. I actually fault Expedia for falsely advertising the rating on this motel. They basically said they can’t do any more to help me- goodluck. Thanks for nothing, don’t waste your time, money, or energy going through the hassle of looking for help from either merchant. Spend the extra money of like $20 and stay 8min down the road with far better accommodations!

All we wanted was a good nights sleep but instead we were kept up most of the night by a loud and noisy next door tenant. We were actually told by management to bang on the wall to quiet them down! Out of desperation we did but to no avail… the noise continued. Management said they were gone home and lived far away so they couldn’t be bothered. Later we found out that they lived across the road. We did ask for a refund that night to go find a place elsewhere but they refused to give one. If you want to party all night this hotel would be ok but if you have a family or just simply want a good nights sleep, go elsewhere. Nevertheless all the other regular people working there were very understanding, kind and considerate.

Wasn’t allowed to check in at times listed on website, was charged the double rate for two nights with no explanation, staff walked into my room without knocking - felt unsafe after that, sheets weren’t changed, cold shower only, no to their fault but I had no signal from my room. I understand this is the cheapest nights stay in bar harbor for a reason but for paying $150 a night that’s poor

The rooms closest to the highway are noisy as you can hear trucks and vehicles drive be al night. Better insulation would probably help. The door had a noticeable gap all the way around its perimeter that light was noticeable and did not help with the road noise.

It turns out they are right next to the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound (which is one of the main reasons we come to Maine). Nice folks in the office and the room was ok, bed was comfortable.

You get what you pay for! Didn't mind it being old but - outside door had up to a 3/4" gap letting in cold air, no extra blankets or pillows, bathroom floor had a big hole by the toilet, sliding door to bathroom didn't work. Hot & cold water were backwards, no coffee in lobby as promised, poor lighting. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

I knew this was an older motel . The rates were a good deal for the area . When booking on hotels.com there is a place to put in special requests . I said I’m disabled have asthma and request a no pet no smoking room . Never heard from them assumed it was fine .I got there and the room was a flash back from 1972. Small , smelled like ashtrays and like your grand mother’s musty cellar . Dirty . Went to office woman said she would show me other rooms . All the same . I said what about the upgraded rooms . She showed me one . No step in but a step up in to the Bath room . Prior room had a multiple step entrance. None of the rooms have a fridge or microwave . I did not see a table and chair , bureau or night stands in the upgraded room . No usb ports .They upgraded my room . Another couple left after seeing their room . The attendant was nice and friendly . No breakfast . The offer to show rooms prior to booking . I will not be back again

The bed was uncomfortable. The property needs some upgrades. Staff was not super friendly and no one was ever at front desk. However there is an amazing 4.8 restaurant right next door woth amazing food and desserts. Highly recommend the walk.

Liked the location but the rooms are not the same as the pictures online. Room was very old and outdated. The main door outside had a crack in the bottom to where you could see daylight right outside. Staff was friendly but the rooms need to be renovated. Lights were flickering and some didn't even work. Not enough plugs in the room for my cpap and laptop. No mini fridge to help keep drinks cold. Ice machine was in the office and very small. I filled my little bucket that I bought and the ice machine was then empty.

The receptionist was friendly and provided coffee, microwave, and ice at registration for access any time. There were 2 outdoor chairs at room’s entrance which was nice for sitting outside. Robbins Motel had 2 very good restaurants within walking distance, which was a real plus. When we arrived the room was clean. However, there were 2 checked in to our room. We had 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 1 bath mat, and 2 wash clothes to ‘share’. Stayed 3 days. The towels were never replaced with clean ones, Initially provided disposable plastic cups in room. We had zero housekeeping services during the stay. The room was inexpensive and available.

Although we were put in an “updated room”, it lacked a lot. No soap for sink, only one washcloth on second day, you have to step up into bathroom. No coffee maker, microwave or refrigerator, you had to go to the office for those luxuries. The rates we had to pay were outrageous.
