Thought we pulled into the wrong hotel. Nothing like the photos. Garbage all over the parking lot. Undergoing renovations, furniture all over balcony’s, exterior is missing siding. Looks very dingey and divey. We immediately had second thoughts on staying. We checked into our room hoping it was nicer on the inside but the room was awful and got increasingly worse the longer we spent in it and the more we noticed things. To list a few: food garbage left, the walls and floors in horrible shape with damage and horrible ‘repairs’ everywhere. Floors are sinking and walls are ripped/torn/dented and in some places have unsanded drywall. The smoke alarm was not up and was found in a drawer. The light was burnt out so we only had a lamp in the room. The bathroom door doesn’t click shut and swings open from the pressure of opening the front door. Dirt and dust. Stained sheets. Main floor to the divey parking window does NOT lock could be slid open. Room was FREEZING already. We had the heat cranked for hours and it did not warm up. One of the beds is broken and if you sit at the foot the whole head of the head lifts up. Two kids were to sleep on it but when we sat down for a book we thought it would break. Didn’t want to look under the bed but dropped something and happened to look and it looks like it’s NEVER been swept or mopped. Poor cleaning, felt unsafe, very disappointed. Can’t believe they’re renting these rooms out in this condition. Would not recommend. Awful.

Fire extinguishers outdated by 1.5 yrs. Filthy blinds. Coffee maker did not work. No proper dishes. No iron. When provided it was disgusting with crusted surface and $2.00 sticker on it from 2nd hand store. Ground littered with cigarette butts outside door.

The hotel room was excellent. The room was recently renovated and I was very impressed. The bathroom was very modern with marble counter, shower and walls. The bed was very comfortable. Parking was easy, right out front.

Small motel with friendly staff, clean rooms and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Very happy with everything and would recommend for families and couples needing a stopover. Dog friendly as well which is always a bonus for us!

The place was clean, afforable and loved that it accommodated my dog. That was #1 fo me. Too much bulky furniture which made it difficual to get around in the room. But overall it was a stop over for us and we would stay there again.

Ainsi je suis retournée à la réception et j'ai demandé de ravoir les clés de la première chambre malgré les éléments énumérés. Aucune excuse ni rien de la part de la réception. Passez votre tour devant cet hébergement afin de vous assurer un meilleur séjour à Powell River.

Took 1 step into the room, had to leave. We booked 3 nights, but they wouldnt refund us for the first night, so we ended up paying for 1 night despite spending less than 5 minutes in the room. Luckily we found a bnb down the street. Hoping for a full refund, this place is filthy, mouldy, and the smell alone was unbearable. Doors were open when we got there, rooms were also full of bugs, mosquitos, and spiders everywhere. Its like a motel from a true crime show based in the 80s.

This property is terribly dirty. First room I was given head bugs and a hunk of skin in the bed with nothing wipe down on counters. They gave me another room and it was just as bad there was dog or cat hairs, dog or cat hairs in the bed in the sheets, as well as human hairs, and other black spots everywhere. Fruit flies all over dirty ghost flies all over a dirty old sponge at the sink. This is Third World living it’s awful it was late at night or I wouldn’t of stayed at all the shower didn’t work there was no place to turn the shower on. There was black rings around the tub. I noticed that in black rings around the tub. The towels were in terrible condition , this does not sit well with your name. Sorry about that but it doesn’t and giving people washcloths full of black dye or something lighting was very poor overall, I would not ever stay there again.

There were dirty shorts inside the TV cabinet, dirty socks under the bed and washroom sink, garbage under the washroom sink, left over food in the microwave. Floors were dirty. Requested to please clean up the room, but upon return hours later it was in the same condition. Will not stay there again.

No one at front desk. You have to ring if you need anything or want to ask a question. The lobby smells very strongly of cooking. Pungent. I assume the owners living quarters are attached. The rooms and property in general are dated. The AC units are old and inadequate for the task. We left our AC running for our whole stay and it barely managed to get down to 23 or 24 degrees - we had to borrow a fan from our friends locally to survive/sleep. No ice bucket in the room nor was one provided when we asked. Overall not great stay. Would not repeat.

The room was clean but had a musty smell. The nightly rate was pretty decent for what amenities were included. The walls are very thin. I heard someone snoring in the room beside me and the pipes were very loud when someone flushed the toilet or had a shower. There was a number to call at reception to get assistance. I went to ask for a hairdryer two different times , no one came to the front.

The mini fridge was located right beside the bed, and was quite noisy. It was also plugged into an extension cord, and controlled by a switch that also turned on the tv and a lamp. The air conditioner was also noisy, kept us awake at night, and was not quite adequate for the space. We left the ac on while we were out in hopes of having it cooler when we returned for our second night, and someone turned our air conditioner off while we were out (they went into our room)! I let management know of the issues, as we were actually kept awake by the the fridge and ac, and requested a different room. Instead we were given a different fridge which was quieter, but nothing was done about the ac unit. The room was not overly clean. There was some residue on the wall by the light switch, and dust under the beds. The beds were comfortable and the bedding seemed clean.

Nice little hotel. No issues with the room itself or the staff. But the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything that goes on in the adjoining rooms. You may get lucky but we didn't. Not their fault, it appears to be an older property, but you should know about it.

Dial "0" for service, and there was no service except for when we arrived in the evening. I was handed a key, told that there would be a 100.00 added for incidentals? and would be reimbursed upon departure, then the person vanished. Coffee service consisted of 1 cup, 1 package of coffee and sugar packets for 2 adults, for 2 days. I gave up on "Service" after 3 tries.

The desk clerk charged me $23 more than the Expedia total quoted. When I brought this to her attention she said the extra was for taxes and fees. After I showed her the Expedia price included all taxes and fees she reimbursed me the $23. No apology. The bed was good, but the room is old.

Check in was good. Room was clean. Naina at the reception was very helpful. She came to our room right away to show us how to turn the volume on the TV up or down. We had other questions too and she was always available to answer them. We really liked the location of the hotel in the old part of town. But we needed our car to get to the area where all the action is with restaurants and shops.

4 people in line trying to check in. 1st person - we don’t recognize your name you don’t have a reservation. Receptionist was wrong. Client upset but has room. 2nd person in line was me. Sorry I don’t have any reservations anymore when did you book. Told them last week. Suddenly she finds our reservation. 3rd person in line. Same story but booked one hour ago on ferry. Receptionist tells she will cancel the booking and refund. Total mess their booking system

Upon check in was asked if I booked through this booking agent and when I said yes they said the reservation had been cancelled. I confirmed it the night before so I knew it hadn’t been. Said that the booking agent cancelled not them but they were full. I knew this to be untrue as other travellers in the group experienced it the night before. After some back and forth they finally gave us a room. They were unprofessional about it. They said next time book directly through them. They wrote out our name on a notepad for their records. Our room was fresh as someone had just cleaned it but generally the fridge was leaking and the furniture was run down. Would not recommend.

At check in there was no staff present even after many phone calls. It took 15 minutes to find someone to get a key. I went back to the office to ask for an extra pillow immediately and the person disappeared and couldn’t be found. There were 2 other patrons needing assistance and nobody working the desk.

Check in was good. Room was clean. Naina at the reception was very helpful. She came to our room right away to show us how to turn the volume on the TV up or down. We had other questions too and she was always available to answer them. We really liked the location of the hotel in the old part of town. But we needed our car to get to the area where all the action is with restaurants and shops.

The location was very convenient. There’s a couple restaurants nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing I didn’t like was the wood floors I prefer rooms with carpet.

I was so happy to arrive early on a Harbour Air flight and find my room ready. The Island View Lodge is a short walk from the Powell Lake float plane terminal. This a terrific place to stay in the historic Powell River townsite…. Big thanks to the friendly and very helpful staff!

Clean room and renovated bathroom with excellent shower water pressure. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Really appreciated opportunity to do laundry. Hotel is across the street from Townsite market (excellent bakery), movie theatre and great Royal Zayka restaurant.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom looks recently renovated. It’s close to Townsite Brewing which had some of the best beer I have tried in a very long time! Close to food as well! Definitely recommend!

Nice location next to a great restaurant, but the rooms themselves were tucked off in the corner with no through breeze and extraordinarily loud and inefficient air conditioning. Since the rooms are in an L around unbroken parking lot, the heat is intense. Although it bills itself as a lodge, it's really a motel.

The rooms were clean enough and it was pet friendly. There is a fantastic Greek restaurant next door that helped improve the stay. The rooms had a musty old smell and the doors to rooms not being used were left standing open…all night long. I went next door in the morning and took the coffee because they did not leave us one - or someone else did the same from our room. You can hear the sea lions barking in the morning.
