I absolutely loved and enjoyed my stay here .the breakfast buffet was top notch.the rooms ,staff were very excellent.l would recommend this to anyone and l wouldn’t mind coming back here again and again.the only problem is not having parking on the site.from the looks of it there isn’t even anywhere to place parking now but you can Atleast have deals with the nearest parking where we park so us ur customers can probably have some discounts especially some who would want to stay for a couple of days as the parking is costing an arm and a leg .but Atleast the parking isn’t far just 3 to 4 mins walk from the hotel

The room was absolutely great, excellent facilities and couldn’t fault it. However, when we arrive there was only one lift working and the next day there were no lifts at all. We had two small children, a buggy and a room in the top floor so this was obviously not ideal!

Room was smart and clean although the room did smell a little of drains. Breakfast good, beds very comfortable, staff friendly. Very noisy due to a party on arrival but they were having fun! Good gym for a hotel.

More staff is needed at check-in, we were so tired and waited nearly 15 minutes. The car park advertised in the hotel details was useless as it closed at 12 pm. The breakfast was so simple and limited. The pool table has only one cue. The positives were quite area, helpful staff on checkout taking a minute. The room was spacious and beds were comfortable.

Happy and comfortable stay. Great air con (30 degree day so appreciated this a lot!!) friendly check in and our dog was brought a bed and bowl which is a lovely touch. 15-20min walk to city centre.

Nice hotel, really helpful staff (especially Abdu - legend!). Only thing that lets the hotel down a little was the stained bed sheets. We had 2 rooms and both rooms had stains on the sheets. I'm sure they were washed but the stains were unsightly. We had to rearrange the sheets so we weren't sleeping on the stains. The rest of the hotel was nice and clean.

Very good value for money, nice clean hotel, spacious light foyer, friendly staff, room average size, clean with good bathroom lighting and great powerful shower, extremely comfortable bed with wonderful pillows .. approx £12 in a cab into the city centre square and bar area. Managed to park right outside for £3 overnight ! Would definitely stay again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a great overall experience. The location is excellent—close to everything you’d want to see or do in the area—and parking nearby was very convenient. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Overnight stay , initially key card would not work as issue with lock, then walked in the room and it stank of the gutters, there was awful smell of drains, went to advise reception and they send housekeeping up , issue not really resolved, was not offered another room, very disappointing service. Bed was comfortable, but the carpets could do with a good clean. Would not stay again

Cleaning issues with the room. Mould in corner of shower. Linen stained in various locations. Lack of amenities like cotton buds, shower caps in bathroom. Poor breakfast no selection of chopped fruit just melon. Not kids friendly you can’t get simple as banana, pancakes or waffles. Requested omelette we got small over cooked nearly burnt fried egg presented on a tiny side plate. Coffee machine doesn’t have option of plant based milk. Espresso served in a large disposable cups there is no espresso cups.

If you stay here be aware of a lot of youngsters that meet and party (as it happened to us). I called the reception and eventually (at 11.30ish) they stopped. Not ideal as I was visiting for the athletics nationals and my 13 year old son really needed a good night sleep before the races.

The rooms are nice but there was a knocking coming from the bathroom (room 214). They only give you 2 milk and a couple of tea bags and coffee so not enough to make more than 1 drink. Only give you 1 water for a double room too.

The hotel was clean and in a quiet location. Parking was a five minute walk away. The breakfast buffet options were excellent and the staff working in the breakfast room were really friendly, efficient and helpful. We stayed in a family room with two Queen-sized beds which were comfortable. In the room there was no clothes storage other than a few coat hangers in a wardrobe. Some shelves would have been useful, especially for children’s clothes which are too small for adult sized coat hangers. There was a bedside table between the two beds but no table or ledge for those on the outside of each bed. This would have been useful. Unfortunately our heating controls in our room were broken so we relied on staff downstairs to change our room temperature. The heating control panel kept lighting up (like a flash photograph) which disturbed us several times during the night. The hotel was advertised as “family friendly” but didn’t provide basic accessories to support young children. For example, the sink was a bowl on a very high ledge and my son was too short to reach the taps or the bowl meaning we had to lift him. The hotel could provide a simple step for young children to stand on. Other than that we had a comfortable stay but would probably choose a more family friendly hotel option next time.

Exceptional Hotel. Very friendly and efficient staff on reception. The room was excellent and being on the top floor the views were brilliant. Overall and extremely pleasant stay and will gefinitely stay again when visiting Birmingham.

The staff were not welcoming, not even a smile upon check in. The Airconditioning was not working making it very difficult to sleep all night. The toilet smelt of sewage, you could not leave the toilet seat up even by accident or leave the bathroom door open else the entire room smelt on sewage. Make sure you don’t book room 324, it’s not worth the money.

We stayed here for 1 night and would stay here over and over again. The room was so nice, the bed was comfy, the staff was perfect and so attentive. Eric at the reception was just awesome, helped us out wherever he could, bar staff was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. Thank you for looking after us

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was wonderful with a comfortable bed. I enjoyed the food I ate at the Aloft. I will stay again at this hotel the next time I am visiting Birmingham.

The hotel is getting very busy with large conferences in the conference centre next door. The hotel has insufficient staff and capacity, particularly in the bar and restaurant. The staff are great but there are too few to manage demand!

The main thing was the staff - mini breaks are really made or broken by the staff and this was totally made! Everyone we met was lovely, especially a lovely lady on reception. Breakfast was also great! Thank you all!

Wasn’t too happy that the hotel took a double payment ‘saying my card hasn’t got enough money on it’ in front of other people. I had to show the lady at the reception that the payment was already been made. Then they denied that breakfast was included and tried to tell us we couldn’t eat breakfast whilst we were at the our breakfast table. It was humiliating

What a lovely hotel. Good price, comfortable, close to where I needed to be, the friendliest staff of any hotel I've stayed in - all of them, without exception. Very helpful too. I will be back.
What a lovely hotel. Good price, comfortable, close to where I needed to be, the friendliest staff of any hotel I've stayed in - all of them, without exception. Very helpful too. I will be back.

More staff is needed at check-in, we were so tired and waited nearly 15 minutes. The car park advertised in the hotel details was useless as it closed at 12 pm. The breakfast was so simple and limited. The pool table has only one cue. The positives were quite area, helpful staff on checkout taking a minute. The room was spacious and beds were comfortable.

Fabulous stay. Picked this hotel for location - right by the Aston Uni campus as campuses are always nice spaces, and we wanted to be able to run in the morning. Great location quiet and green spaces nearby but just a 15 min walk into bull ring. Really cool hotel, friendly staff, clean comfortable room with lovely bathroom and huge shower! Wonderful buffet breakfast - super coffee and avocado smash for toast. Parking was easy paid for on road outside, but if not car park nearby. Check in and out times generous. Tiny things, mattress wasn’t as firm as I would usually like but for one night no issue, would like few extra milks in room and a soap dish for the bar soap once opened but that’s it. Would 100% stay again

Got an upgrade, the room is big but near to the lift, I could hear the bang sound and the door was shaking whenever my neighbours come back. Bathroom is nice, lovely walking shower, would be even better if there is some hanger near to the shower that I could hang my towel. Breakfast is a bit disappointing, there is not fruit available. I ordered mushroom and found egg shell in it, I don’t understand why because I didn’t order egg. Not a big issue but not so nice..

The room was really nice and clean with a very comfy bed, unfortunately I ate in the restaurant for convenience and the food was very poor, the salt and pepper squid to start was bland and slightly over cooked. The chicken tikka pizza I had for mains sounded exciting on the menu except there was a distinct lack of chicken tikka, it was very claggy and undercooked in parts. I only ate around 1/4 and when I informed the waiter if the issue, I received no feedback, apology or any means of recompence. I certainly wont be eating there again on my next visit.

All was very good. The only thing that needed looking at was restocking the good at breakfast time. A lot of people waiting round for food items for at least 10 mins so the rest of the food had gone cold .

Good clean room with comfortable bed and hot shower. TV signal was poor though - kept freezing. Might just be a poor connection in the room. The staff went out of their way to recover my phone charger which I left behind on the bedside table. Initially they said it had not been found but a further investigation involving the hotel manager and housekeeping manager revealed that it had been found but was marked up against a different room number. The restaurant is awful - menu looks great but food was just microwaved ready meals! They should employ a trained chef at those prices. Also wanted £12 advance payment for breakfast (£15 on the day) - there was no option for a light tea and toast. The staff had no ability to compromise on this so ended up getting a croissant and tea from a local coffee shop for £5. In summary for a decent night stay in a clean room with hot shower - this is an excellent place and 5-stars. But the restaurant is well below par - like you would find in low-end hotel chains and the no-options breakfast needs attention so zero stars for this !!!

Great Hotel, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and modern with a great view over the east side of the city. Food in restraunt was OK, normal choice for this standard of hotel. Breakfast was buffet style with standard choices of english and continental. Lots of University buildings nearby, about a 20 minute walk to the town center.

We stayed here for the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and the hotel was still of the same high standard. The room, bed and bathroom were of a good size, with the air-conditioning much appreciated during the heatwave. The staff we had contact were generally excellent, especially the bar staff. The breakfast was also adequate. However, unless visiting Aston University, you need to be able to walk a reasonable distance for shops etc. The only significant disappointment for us was that the menu available was very similar to 2022, generally being what we would call pub grub. However, we might be in the minority in terms of our food preferences.

The bath tray when washing the water settle on the tray. This is falls risk . carpet on the floor looks old scramble crums left via the lift lobby for 2 days not clean . Breakfast was low standard for such a hotel. it take us the second day to know that we have to request fried egg. Hotel Staff did not have a clear communication . staff not pleasant especially the staff that check us in on Friday she was not polite and unprofessional. Staff speaking to quest that has been check in for breakfast and they appears to be doubtful and coming to ask quest again when did they came in the breakfast bar. no clear communication to each other.
