Good parking, very friendly helpful staff. Room could do with an update, we were above the kitchen which was very noisy, hence we had to close the windows. This didn’t cut out very much noise and also made for a stuffy hot uncomfortable night.

We had a lovely few days stay last Bank Holiday, it is a charming pub with great staff, nothing is too much for them, very friendly and breakfast was Best! Delicious! My only suggestion would be to have at least brewed coffee! Beautiful place and very calm even though there is open bar downstairs.

Double room was clean and pleasant. Restaurant menu had lots of options and was served quickly and piping hot. Breakfast was lovely and my poached egg was perfectly cooked. Large parking area and gardens and the atmosphere in the bar in the evening was very pleasant. Quite isolated so not possible to walk anywhere in the evening. I was made very welcome by everyone.

Great food, excellent bar. V comfy room, very clean and well appointed. Excellent Car Park. Staff were brilliant. I picked this for closeness to our client's premises and will do so again. A real littel gem of a find. can definitely recommend the Red Lion lager!!

Our stay at the Red Lion Hotel was very pleasant. The room was cozy, vibe in the Pub was full of energy in the evening watching sports games, and the morning breakfast was lovely. Our car broke down nearby and the owners were very supportive and helped us in every way they could to find alternatives. We really thank them for their help and appreciate their kindness.

We were given a large family room which had plenty of space for the 4 of us. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the hotel and room were both very clean throughout , breakfast was very tasty and they were very accommodating to our requests. The shower in our room was not very powerful, but it was still good enough for all of us to have showers (3 of us have long thick hair)

Room was very clean and perfect sized for my family. Only one problem at night , my next door neighbour was so loud when they were talking, even we could hear clearly their conversations. Its not Red Lion's fault. People need to consider others. The host was very very friendly and professional as well. We had supper and breakfast. Both were very good. We enjoyed the food.

The staff were really good - friendly and efficient - and the food was great too. But we were there during a heatwave and our room was very hot. A fan was supplied but it didn’t make much difference and if we left the windows open loads of flies came in so sleeping was a bit uncomfortable. Not much the pub could do I guess. The bed itself was comfy though and the bathroom very clean.

It's hard to know where to start but the owners and staff are a good place to start. Extremely friendly and personable, attentive without being overbearing and they make you feel comfortable immediately. The room was small, clean and the bed very comfortable with a lovely view of the countryside. The pub was extremely comfortable and welcoming and within minutes it felt like a place I would be at a couple nights a week if I lived locally. What was really unexpected was that for a small pub with rooms above was that they were extremely knowledgable about food allergies. I'm celiac (very much so) and I was going to miss the beer and food. Except I didn't, they have very good gluten free beer and do an excellent gluten free beer battered fish and chips (with the best chips I've had in years, crisp and fluffy inside) and an English breakfast. They were so careful on what was safe to serve and what not and I had no contamination issues at all. This was easily the best hotel experience I've had in at least two decades and it's not even close. I would vacation here again with my wife just to stay here.

Stayed while on a break to Dorset, close to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Close to lots of towns and sites in the area with easy road access. Friendly staff and breakfast included. Large, spacious room that was clean and tidy. This is an old pub and therefore the building is not like a modern hotel but that is the charm of staying in the English countryside. Our room was upstairs and no lift should that be a necessity.

Apart from the brilliant bar/restaurant staff, this was probably the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed in - especially for the money. The food was barely edible, and the room (number 4) was beyond tired. The bed was uncomfortable, and the room was right next to some kind of air conditioning unit that was noisy and made sleep impossible!! The shower was hardly functioning (more of a dribble, than a shower)... Breakfast was overcooked and poor in the extreme. Not the sort of evening you need the night before a business meeting. Staff 5* Hotel 0*

A very warm welcome, greeted by very friendly staff. The room radiator wasn't working but it was fixed within a few minutes. Excellent breakfast in very comfortable surroundings. Perfect location for Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove etc. Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

I've stayed here multiple times and it is a gem. Located close to the Bovington Tank Museum it has cozy rooms and a wonderful pub with a solid menu, including being extremely good for people with food allergies. I have celiac disease and having several gluten free options (e.g., starters, entres, deserts, beer, etc) at a small hotel is unexpected. The staff is also extremely nice and helpful and even put together a gluten free tradiitoonal breakfast to go since my train left before they opened breakfast.

We didn't stay at the Red Lion since Expedia somehow didn't forward our reservation- which we didn't find out until we arrived and they were fully booked. But the hotel bent over backwards to find us a room in a nearby hotel about 10 minutes away and apologized profusely about the error (which was not their fault). 5 stars for their professionalism and customer service. Be warry of booking this hotel through this site though, the Red Lion indicated another potential guest had the same problem earlier this year.

This is a wonderful and rustic B and B. The rooms are small, but the innkeepers are wonderful and make up for any shortcoming. The food in the tavern is fantastic. Lizzie (the owner) is an angel and she saved the day for us when we could not get transportation to our event. She drove us herself!!!!

Our car broke down nearby and the owners were very supportive and helped us in every way they could to find alternatives. We really thank them for their help and appreciate their kindness.
Our stay at the Red Lion Hotel was very pleasant. The room was cozy, vibe in the Pub was full of energy in the evening watching sports games, and the morning breakfast was lovely. I've stayed here multiple times and it is a gem. Located close to the Bovington Tank Museum it has cozy rooms and a wonderful pub with a solid menu, including being extremely good for people with food allergies. I have celiac disease and having several gluten free options (e.g., starters, entres, deserts, beer, etc) at a small hotel is unexpected. The staff is also extremely nice and helpful and even put together a gluten free tradiitoonal breakfast to go since my train left before they opened breakfast.

Double room was clean and pleasant. Restaurant menu had lots of options and was served quickly and piping hot. Breakfast was lovely and my poached egg was perfectly cooked. Large parking area and gardens and the atmosphere in the bar in the evening was very pleasant. Quite isolated so not possible to walk anywhere in the evening. I was made very welcome by everyone.

Great food, excellent bar. V comfy room, very clean and well appointed. Excellent Car Park. Staff were brilliant. I picked this for closeness to our client's premises and will do so again. A real littel gem of a find. can definitely recommend the Red Lion lager!!

Stayed while on a break to Dorset, close to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Close to lots of towns and sites in the area with easy road access. Friendly staff and breakfast included. Large, spacious room that was clean and tidy. This is an old pub and therefore the building is not like a modern hotel but that is the charm of staying in the English countryside. Our room was upstairs and no lift should that be a necessity.

The Red Lion is not only inviting, it’s friendly, convenient, cosy, the food is amazing, we had ribs which had been smoked & were delicious. Service is quick & efficient. Staff are super friendly & the owner is awesome. Friendly, helpful, great sense of humour, fantastic host & nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious with a large range of choices. We had cooked which again was fresh, very tasty & even got croissants to take away for our journey home. We only stayed one night but could have stayed a lot longer. The room was lovely with a big bed & a double sofa bed for our son. It was clean & had everything we needed & more. We will be back in the future & would highly recommend staying here ☺️

Staff are all so friendly and welcoming. Felt very well looked after. We had dinner and breakfast here, both were very good. The room was clean with lovely fluffy towels and a reasonable size for a family of 4. Only negatives was that the roast dinner was only available till 3.30pm.

We had a lovely few days stay last Bank Holiday, it is a charming pub with great staff, nothing is too much for them, very friendly and breakfast was Best! Delicious! My only suggestion would be to have at least brewed coffee! Beautiful place and very calm even though there is open bar downstairs.

Room was very clean and perfect sized for my family. Only one problem at night , my next door neighbour was so loud when they were talking, even we could hear clearly their conversations. Its not Red Lion's fault. People need to consider others. The host was very very friendly and professional as well. We had supper and breakfast. Both were very good. We enjoyed the food.

Apart from the brilliant bar/restaurant staff, this was probably the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed in - especially for the money. The food was barely edible, and the room (number 4) was beyond tired. The bed was uncomfortable, and the room was right next to some kind of air conditioning unit that was noisy and made sleep impossible!! The shower was hardly functioning (more of a dribble, than a shower)... Breakfast was overcooked and poor in the extreme. Not the sort of evening you need the night before a business meeting. Staff 5* Hotel 0*

Shower old and not enough water and not enough power coming through to wash your hair. Wouldn’t turn off after a shower and next day no hot water. As we were going to a wedding this was highly inconvenient. SaniToilet wouldn’t flush and constantly making the grinding noise all night. Reported it and someone came to sort it but it happened again. Stopped doing food at 730pm because of ‘the weather’ it was really warm and too busy’ Went down for breakfast and sat for 30 mins no one came to take order and we were told we should have ordered breakfast the night before. Ran out of breakfast. Told my friend she could have a big bowl of scrambled eggs as nothing left that she could eat on low residue diet. Actually given a little dessert bowl of small serving of scrambled eggs. Cobwebs everywhere, in all the windows outside. Needs a really clean outside. Sat outside and cobwebs everywhere on the wooden gazebos. Disabled toilet in the bar would not flush, had to lift the cistern and do it. Would not book again or recommend.

Nice looking room, but extremely noisy as above the bar. Very expensive. A very limited menu with ridiculously long waiting times. Breakfast an absolute disaster, our table was taken by non paying guests, not monitored or reserved by staff. Table we eventually got given was very sticky. After an hour and a half continuously chasing we eventually gave up waiting for breakfast to arrive. Requested refund as it was included in the room rate, told they couldn't refund and I'd have to email the boss. Such a shame as last year the pub was run very well.
