A hotel winding downWe had a 2-day stay at this hotel.First, the good things:The hotel is nice and clean. The rooms are a good size, and there was a really nice balcony. Quiet surroundings.The negative things:The hotel has no staff after 3:00 PM. At this point, the guests are "home alone."If you don't run into any of the other guests, it feels like an abandoned "ghost hotel."If you arrive later than 3:00 PM, an envelope with your key card will be hanging outside. This means anyone can access the hotel if they want to.The restaurant is permanently closed. However, breakfast is served in the restaurant area. The food is below the expected standard. It clearly shows that they don't buy much in bulk. One of the days, they had run out of butter.There is a wine bar at the hotel. However, it is self-service since there is no staff. You take drinks from the fridge, write down what you took, and settle the bill at checkout.But there is no reason to sit in the wine bar, as nobody uses it – it is empty.Outside, there is a lovely sun terrace. However, the umbrellas require a tool to be opened, which is impossible after 3:00 PM due to the lack of staff.If you only have 1, maximum 2 nights, it is perfectly fine.The hotel has 4 stars. I am completely convinced that it used to be a really good hotel, but the 4 stars are a relic of the past.

You can find everything you'r looking for! You were offered also a glas of Champagne every morning. It's really fantastic!

Lovely staff, clean, nice bed, good size room, good breakfast

No tissue box in bathroom, light bulb was not working, reading lights not working, work list for staff forgotten in the room, we stayed 3 nights, although we asked for fresh towels we didn’t get, bedspread was left on the floor, used glasses not exchanged!

Great place for walking and bird watching. Hotel is spotless and efficient but friendly. Only a few minutes walk from the train station and they give you a free ticket to use any train or bus for miles around. So you can be in the middle of Freiburg in half an hour. We were meeting friends so didn't try their restaurant.
