Hotel & Restaurant Bucaneros, Isla Mujeres

Clean, AC, great service!!! Coming back for sure but maybe not the top floor. No elevators so go slow. We stayed at Isla Mujeres June, summer season… phew… everything was hot including the ice cream! Jk. So the AC was just the perfect recovery. This is in the heart of downtown, so it was great to be able to walk out into thick of the active night life. Thanks!

My husband and I (couple in our early 30’s) stayed for one night in Isla Mujeres and had a perfect stay here! We took the Ultramar Ferry from Cancun to Isla Mujeres and easily walked to the hotel from there. The hotel is located on a street filled with restaurants and souvenir vendors, so we were right in the heart of the action! Jesus at the front desk and his staff were so welcoming and kind. The room had everything we needed - comfortable bed, AC, tv, hot water, mini fridge, and a view of the street below. He personally escorted us to our room and was very hospitable. This is a family owned and run hotel which made us love this property even more! They are also a short walk to Playa Norte where we were able to check out beach towels for a $10 USD deposit and returned once you bring the towels back. They also held our bags for a few hours until we were ready to take the ferry back after check out. When we return to Isla Mujeres we will certainly come back to Hotel Bucaneros! Thank you so much for a smooth and easy stay!

Hotel midt i sentrum på Isla Mujeres. Smale trapper og flere etasjer gjør det tungt og kronglete med bagasje. Prisen er innafor men man kan finne bedre hoteller i nærheten til samme pris (Hotel Imperla på andre siden av gata er bedre på alle måter til samme pris) Helt ok for 1 natt. Ingen streaming eller chromecast på tv og døren til toalett er kun for syns skyld da det spriker vilt og har egentlig ingen hensikt.

I’ll share the good and the bad about Hotel Bucaneros. We stayed in June 2023 for several nights. Good: Location is phenomenal if you want shopping, nightlife, and quick access to Playa Norte and Playa Central. Both beaches can be accessed in 5 minutes. The location was the biggest positive and I never felt unsafe. I also greatly appreciated a working air conditioner. Our room was a great escape from the heat and humidity outside. The filtered water on the property was much appreciated. Bad: The room smelled horrible. It was actually the bathroom. I think they were having sewer issues and maybe that’s normal on this island but it was almost unbearable. We also saw several roaches on the property and found one crawling in our room. Again, this could be normal for Isla Mujeres. I have no idea. Also, the room was two levels, and the stairs up to the loft were scary. They were sturdy but so steep that we fell a few times and the ceiling was so low we hit our head every time. I’m glad my kids are older because I’d be terrified if I had little kids sleeping up there. The amenities were few. We weren’t given an extra toilet paper roll at any time, so every time we ran out we had to ask for more. We also got two single use shampoo bottles and nothing else. No body soap, no hair conditioner. Good thing we brought our own. The noise outside from the bars and shops get loud at night. Finally, at check in they made me pay an undisclosed fee for ocean conservation.

Great “no frills”property. Best location in Isla. 5 min walk from Ferry. Walkable to North Beach and to best restaurants, bars and music venues. Immaculate. No elevator but for us steps to 3rd floor room not an issue. Very comfortable bed. Nice linens. Safe area.

It was our first time staying here and it was a good stay. There are no elevators but the staff was helpful and carried the luggage up.

Me encantó su limpieza ,decoración , la atención de su personal excelente ,facilidad con toallas para playa , agua fría y caliente en todo momento para cafecito, cuenta con frigobar y parrilla para cocinar y trastes ,muy agusto el hotel de ruido y súper limpio y libre de humo de cigarro ,me encantó y volvería a hospedarme,está cerca de playa norte la más hermosa de isla mujeres y cerca de restaurantes ,bares y del ferry ,súper accesible lo recomiendo al 100 me encantó !!!! Sin duda alguna regresaría a este hotel cuando regrese a Isla mujeres

Me gustó mucho hospedarme aquí, el personal es muy gentil y presto a ayudar en lo que necesites. Muy céntrico si buscas estar en el medio y cerca de todo, a pocas cuadras de la hermosa Playa Norte y a pocas cuadras del terminal marítimo. Rodeado de restaurantes y comercios, difícil perderse. La habitación tenía varios servicios como un refrigerador pequeño, cafetera y una salita pequeña de estar más el balcón que daba a la calle. Afuera de la habitación en cada piso hay un dispensador de agua purificada, eso fue genial. Si es un sitio con bulla, pero yo sí pude descansar muy bien, la cama estaba muy cómoda. El internet no estaba muy rápido pero al parecer es un problema general de la isla. Estoy muy agradecida por mi estadía.

Great place. Very Clean. The third floor is a little rough but worth the price.

One nights stay, nice experience right in the middle of everything. Hot shower, comfortable bed, AC was just fine. I would have appreciated an elevator just because of my age, narrow staircase for big Americans with luggage would stay here again for a night or two at the most.

Property was clean and the room was very nice. No hot water for showering. And not a great location if like your sleep due to the partying in the streets below our room. If you stay up late and like the noise then this is a great place.

It was close to everything we wanted. Our shower leaked all over the bathroom every time we showered! The bubbler in the hallway didn’t give cold water. Was empty a couple times as well. We won’t stay here again.

Die Lage des Hotels ist super. Die Zimmer klein aber fein und sehr sauber. Es gibt einen Wasserspender, wo man gratis Trinkwasser auffüllen kann. Das Hotel liegt zentral in einer Fussgängerzone mit Restaurants, aber es ist trotzdem sehr ruhig. Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.

Me hospede 5 días y fue una muy bonita experiencia conociendo la Isla y estando en un lugar céntrico , seguro ,muy amables serviciales y la limpieza excelente. Volveré el próximo año ..muchas gracias!

The property and the rooms were very clean but the room was very musty we always felt wet. Other than that is was nice for the price

Tout était parfait sauf pas d'eau chaude du tout, on en a parlé à la réceptionmais aucun résultat. Pour une journée ça peut passer mais pour plusieurs jours non merci!

Many restaurants and shopping right on the street. My room was quiet as it faced away from Hidalgo street. They offered to clean daily, but only had them in every other. Price was very good. I will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is very well located, about 5 minutes away from north beach, which is amazing! The hotel is very clean, our room had two double beds, its bathroom, AC, and a small area with a refrigerator, a mini oven. It also has a small balcony facing a pedestrian only street with a lot of local shops and amazing restaurants. The personnel were very kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

Hotel is super clean as well as the rooms. BEDS and PILLOWS were amazing to sleep in. Its right in city center which was super convenient. Hotel doesnt offer much in ways as amenities but you're not there for that! Had a cute room with a balcony which overlooked the main st and was great to people watch from above. I'd stay here again as a short term or even maybe a week. The only issue I had was they only accepted Mexican Pesos, so make sure you're prepared for that; Credit Cards nor American monies accepted. :)

Great place! Small but has all you need, central to everything and an 8 minute walk to the beach!

Great location! Staffs were friendly but hotel room is tiny and it was very expensive, 2 nights for $300!! Room very dated and dryer was broken . bathroom door was cracked you could see thru. I love love the island but I’m sorry to say we wouldn’t stay at this hotel again!

Although the room was small it was big enough for us. There was a microwave in the room as well as a small refrigerator. There is a safe in the room where you enter your own code. Not much in the was of storage for clothes but we made due. There are steps both up and down so you should bring a nightlight. Our room was facing Hildage which made it pretty loud but we brought our own sound machine to help block it out. We would stay here again but request a room off of the Main Street.

Room was clean and spacious. Staff was nice. Wifi was down for about half the stay. Excellent location.

Traveled with my children, absolutely loved this place. Location is convenient and close to everything. Staff were super nice.

Have stayed here multiple times and always a good experience! Reservation and check in process is always smooth, incredibly friendly staff. Great location being right on Hidalgo.

The only two positive points are the location and cleanliness. The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are reasonably clean. However, everything else is terrible. The room is tiny, the bedding extremely uncomfortable, and the service non-existent. The staff are not very helpful, and to top it all off, there are hidden fees. They impose an additional tax that you only find out about after you've booked the room. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Helpful, kind, and great staff. Easy to get all around the north side of the island from this location. Would stay here again.

A convenient location to the main attractions of Isla Mujeres. A family run hotel with different room options. We booked 2 rooms. Both were clean, comfortable and large enough for our needs. One was a sweet with eating area and balcony overlooking the street. Second time we have stayed there and would do so again. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

It was a quaint small Mexican Hotel in the heart of walking strip on Isla Mujeres. We had difficulty communicating since our Spanish is very limited and there English was very limited

I can't say enough good things about our stay. Hilda, her family, and the staff are amazing. The hotel is a calm in the middle of the action. Close to the beach, and all the restaurants, yet quiet and tranquil inside. The rooms are wonderful: airy, clean and the beds comfortable. Hilda is an amazing person and made our stay extra special. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. We are looking forward to returning again. Thank you Hilda, and everyone at Hotel Bucaneros for making our stay amazing!

The hotel is in a great location, however, you. get all the street noise and lighting at night. Shops and restaurants close at 11 pm so bring ear plugs and sleep mask if you want to sleep well.

Excellent little hotel. Right in the action so a little bit of noise at night, but it all shut down by midnight

This property was very convenient. It was right in the thick of things. Very quick walk to North Beach. The room was suppose to have a kitchenette but there wasn't one. It only had an electric fry pan which didn't work. We were also suppose to have a view from the room but we didn't. I probably wouldn't stay here again. It was over priced for what we got. We also had to pay an eco fee.

Excelente lugar para hospedarse. Muy céntrico, con farmacias, oxxos, bares y restaurantes cerca. Además la playa está a unos minutos caminando :) recomendado!

Extremely noisy area. Not adapted for family with very young kids. The attic stairs are very steep ! No breakfast on site offered. Will recommend this place for people are going to bed very late in the night ! Very well located though if you are looking for the restaurant and being able to go to playa del Norte or any kart rental shop waking.
