The hotel is beautiful, convenient and offers stunning views of Praia Da Gavea (Sao Conrado). We got the junior suite and it was a great value and very spacious with breathtaking views. Our stay came with a free breakfast buffet every day (lunch and dinner are offered but you have to pay and it's like $70 for 2 people). There is a lovely bar in the huge lobby area where they make excellent drinks. You can also buy water and cokes to go. You can even take your cocktail with you to the room! The pool is big and climate controlled. The bar is nice and the waiters will bring you drinks and food. You are given key cards for towel service which you can also take across the street to the beach (they rent beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach for next to nothing). There's a great gym, sauna and spa on site. We were there for Carnival so there was lots of traffic but the area is easily accessible by taxi and is close to Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana as well as Barra de Tijuca in the other direction. We took a cab to Corcovado for the Christ Redeemer even all the way to Lapa which was expensive..to save money take the subway in Rio then grab a cab in Leblon to Sao Conrado, it's like 5-10 minutes away. As for the cons my biggest complaint is that the front desk staff, some of the pool bartenders and restaurant hostesses tend to not be very warm. Frankly they looked stressed out, like they had a tyrannical boss or something. When we checked out no one said goodbye

We loved our stay. The rooms are cleaned very well and the breakfast is great. We also booked some excursions at the front desk with a third party and they were pretty good. Mountain view from the room is breathtaking. Ubers come very quick to the hotel and the beach is nice too. The pool is heated and I wish we knew it on the first day as we came during late November and the water in the ocean was still pretty cold. Highly recommend this hotel!

O Hotel sempre muito bom ! Estrutura otima, limpeza 10, atendimento 10. Uma unica colocação que faço, e o American Bar, fecha as 23:00, acho cedo para quem esta a passeio em um hotel com esta grande estrutura !

Rooms lovely, views excellent. No free water. $9 R per tiny bottle. Not enough lounge chairs/umbrellas. If you don’t secure them by 10:00 am you’re out of luck. We stayed 10 days and purchased food every day but they would not give me any of the Expedia perks you advertised.

The hotel is in overall good condition, but the service in the pool area is poor. The crew has no initiative even to collect dirty glasses, pool umbrellas are in poor quantity or condition and some raw material for the drinks were missing and replaced without the guest knowledge. We also had an ant infestation in our suite, taking a long time for the maintenance to check. Overall the property lacks management and training when compared to the best days after reopening.

The hotel is quite nice and very busy die to Carnival. The room was clean and fairly modern. The staff was notified of a few deficiencies which were NOT rectified. 1) Railing on stairs pool sitting area was broken and was notnrepaired. 2) Room had nontoulet paper, had to find some even after notifying the front desk. 3) safety night latch on room door was sheared off and not repaired when staff notified. 4) Pool staff were overwhelmed and failed to deliver food order. Pool manager DID compensate. 5) Fitness room mat area was in disrepair.

Excelente estadia no hotel, que é novo, limpo, estruturado e confortável. Possui quartos e banheiros amplos, café da manhã muito bom, restaurantes ótimos, academia bem equipada, estrutura de praia e piscina. Recomendo. Sua localização, no bairro de São Conrado, fica a 10 minutos de uber do Leblon, porém não possui comércio prórpio. Há um pequeno shopping à 4 minutos de distância de caminhada.

Nice hotel with beautiful views. The junior suite was very spacious and the water pressure was amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a nice beach directly across the street from the hotel. Taxis were always out front. We used uber the entire time in Rio. Copacabana is a 20-25 minute ride depending on traffic. There is a supermarket in walking distance (3 minutes) from the hotel. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was ok. The best food was on Copacabana beach. I would recommend Hotel Nacional to anyone traveling to Rio.

This place is beautiful, nice ocean view but when we check in they gave us room but the room we enter was dirty like someone just left the room we went back down and told them that the room is dirty, they gave us another room but they should be careful because we were in the long flight and we are tired the room we walk in was nasty, toilet paper everywhere, trash, smell bad. And then we call for someone to pick up our trash after we been staying for couple days but no one come and pick up the trash. The hotel is beautiful, nice ocean view, good food specially the breakfast.

O hotel é lindo, bem decorado, com obras de arte no saguão, mas precisa de manutenção urgente. O vaso sanitário do nosso quarto vazava e o ar condicionado pingava muito. Além disso havia café escorrido na parede ao lado da cabeceira e o frigobar não estava abastecido quando entramos no quarto.

O hotel é lindíssimo, tanto por fora quanto por dentro, ele impressiona pela arquitetura super única. Os funcionários com quem tive contato foram gentis e educados. O quarto era super espaçoso, a cama enorme e confortável, e a vista de tirar o fôlego! Tudo bem limpo e organizado. Alguns pontos que me deixaram surpresa visto que o hotel é tão tradicional e as diárias acima da média de valor comparando a outros hotéis semelhantes: os elevadores demoram MUITO tempo e na maioria das vezes estavam lotados. O papel higiênico no quarto era dos de pior qualidade, folha única e áspera. O nosso lençol tinha manchas e rasgos, e a cama estava feita com o lençol todo torto. O café da manhã é bem servido, com bastante opção e tudo bem saboroso, porém, o restaurante precisava de uma limpeza melhor, haviam migalhas e sujeiras no chão, provavelmente de pessoas que estiveram lá mais cedo. A piscina é uma delícia, mas as cadeiras todas enferrujadas e descascando. Num geral, tivemos uma boa experiência, porém, pelo valor e localização, se você pretende ir às praias da Zona Sul e passear pelos pontos turísticos, talvez esse não seja o hotel mais indicado.

Everything was perfect in the hotel besides one minor issue. The wifi would not work when i would enter my room. So other than that everything was great! Great staff, amazing food at the hotel. I definitely felt safe and secure. Will be coming back !

Absolutely loved this property. My only issue was getting stuck on a floor, unable to work elevator unless on lobby floor, spa and gym floor, floor to your room and the restaurant. So if you get out on the wrong floor then that’ll be a worry. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL view from my room specifically. Very spacious but lighting is pretty bad. Helpful staff, dinner was amazing, pool was beautiful and a 2 minute walking distance from the beach near Tijuca National Park

Hotel com super estrutura e uma vista maravilhosa, com localização estratégica entre a ZSul e a Barra. Precisa melhorar na variedade de frutas do café da manhã e no conforto do quarto. Fiquei em uma suite enorme, mas vazia, com poucos móveis, sem TV a cabo regular e sem lavabo. Os amenities também poderiam ser de melhor qualidade.

After checking in, I went to my room and noticed the lock piece from above was missing the hook part and immediately let the front desk know. For safety purposes I wanted to have more than just one lock. They gave me the option of a new room or for maintenance to come in and fix the door of the room I booked. When I went to go check the other room, it had the same problem. I thought it was odd that the metal piece was broken off, so I requested them to come in and fix it. The door locks was my only issue. The rest was pleasant, a lot of food options for breakfast and dinner. At the front desk they also provide you with information many excursions. The view from my room was beautiful.

Hotel is amazing. Large rooms and public spaces. Very quiet and safe. The issues are room condition could be better (maintenance and cleaning), HVAC has no auto nor temperature settings. So it will get too cold. Phones are useless. Rarely someone answer the phones when you dial 0 or 9. Staff is very nice. But clearly hotel needs to hire more people and improve in room amenities: no robes, no body lotion, no laundry bags/slips, no hotel directory.

Hotel is located in a mostly residential area therefore the surroundings are not as lively as other areas like Ipanema and Copacaba. For us it was ideal since we were travelling with kids. We always felt very safe, even when walking outside at night. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Everything was helpful. They have a top rated bar tender, I forgot his name now, but he makes some amazing drinks. The rooms were clean, our suite was huge, and the views from the room were amazing. Breakfast was tasty a a huge selection. I wold definetely stay again if back in Rio.

Tive uma situação constrangedora na minha estadia. Estava descansando quando tocaram a campainha do apartamento e devido estar descansado não atendi. Com isso um funcionário do hotel abriu a porta e entrou no quarto quando gritamos para dizermos que estávamos no quarto. E ao reclamar tivemos um retorno da gerência que de praxe do hotel que depois de tocar a campainha e não atender o funcionário pode entrar no quarto. Atitude constrangedora. O hotel é bem bonito, foi todo reformado, a suíte que eu fiquei era excelente, cama king confortável, banheiro excelente e a banheira de imersão fez toda a diferença. O check in deixou bastante a desejar - Não me concederem early check in (mesmo sendo um hotel VIP ACCESS - não deram a mínima para um hóspede de status GOLD na Expedia / Hotels.com e tãopouco me foi oferecido os drinks que tb são cortesias do meu Gold. O restaurante MASI que fica no último andar é realmente excelente - a hostess foi extremamente educada e gentil e o segundo garçon que nos atendeu idem. O hotel já esteve em condições melhores. Acho que falta uma nova reparação em geral . Cadeiras de tomar sol estão bastante desgastados , bem como toalhas de banho. Serviço do hotel está muito lento, em especial do bar do lobby e piscina. E para finalizar , gostaria se ressaltar meu extremo desconforto quando descobri que funcionários entram no quarto para contagem de frigobar quando a luz vermelha está acessa e isso significa - do not disturb = não entrar! Quando vc acha que você pode confiar em deixa dalgumas coisas mais abertas , vc não pode. Está sujeito a pessoas entrarem e exposição dos seus bens , estrema vulnerável e falta de respeito com a sinalização do hóspede!

Não retorno e não indico a ninguém! Qualidade do atendimento é péssima. Atendentes debochados e grosseiros. Me hospedei por 7 dias o quanto via serviço de quanto um único dia. O vaso sanitário se quer foi higienizado todos esses dias. Precisava ir atrás da camareira para solicitar troca de lixo e das toalhas. Alimentação foi a única coisa que foi positiva. Serviço de praia você precisava se humilhar para ser atendido, por vezes até ir buscar no quiosque.

Nice hotel with beautiful views. The junior suite was very spacious and the water pressure was amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a nice beach directly across the street from the hotel. Taxis were always out front. We used uber the entire time in Rio. Copacabana is a 20-25 minute ride depending on traffic. There is a supermarket in walking distance (3 minutes) from the hotel. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was ok. The best food was on Copacabana beach. I would recommend Hotel Nacional to anyone traveling to Rio.

The beach was very nice, but it’s not a convenient location. No restaurants near by and not feel comfortable walking around the area. We ended up eating dinner at the hotel and it’s not good. The room was beautiful and fantastic views. Bathroom door was broken. The breakfast was very good, lots of options. It’s nice for a couple nights to enjoy the beach but you need a car to go other parts of Rio.

Absolutely loved this property. My only issue was getting stuck on a floor, unable to work elevator unless on lobby floor, spa and gym floor, floor to your room and the restaurant. So if you get out on the wrong floor then that’ll be a worry. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL view from my room specifically. Very spacious but lighting is pretty bad. Helpful staff, dinner was amazing, pool was beautiful and a 2 minute walking distance from the beach near Tijuca National Park

Great Hotel! It's clean, organized, and convenient. The hotel is close to Copacabana and Ipanema Beach. Also, the hotel has a mall within walking distance. The only thing to keep in mind is if you are planning on going on a tour, the companies won't pick you up at this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The hotel is beautiful, classy, luxurious looking. The ambiance is amazing and the rooms offers breathtaking views. The staff was friendly and attentive; from the receptionists, to the waiters, room cleaners, all up to the security guards. The beach is walking distance from the hotel, and by this, I mean you’ll be in the beach within 100 steps after getting out of the hotel. They offered free breakfast with dinner for additional cost which was less than $10 in our case. They also offer complimentary free welcome drinks. Lastly, the hotel is walking distance from a mall and about 20-45 min drive away from Copacabana depending on the traffic. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This property was amazing. The amenities exceeded my expectations. You have options for food, property close enough to major areas such as sugar loaf mountain, Christ the Redeemer, selaron steps etc. The room is big and spacious, even though I didn’t have ocean view the views of the mountains were beautiful. The staff were friendly and everyone knew a little English which made it easier. I only have good things to say about this hotel. Oh and the price didn’t break the bank. I will definitely go back.

I loved this hotel the staff was very kind and accommodating. There were some slight issues with internet connectivity in our room with the TV but they tried their best to fix it. The dining options were amazing especially for lunch and dinner and I felt very safe during my stay.

The hotel is beautiful, convenient and offers stunning views of Praia Da Gavea (Sao Conrado). We got the junior suite and it was a great value and very spacious with breathtaking views. Our stay came with a free breakfast buffet every day (lunch and dinner are offered but you have to pay and it's like $70 for 2 people). There is a lovely bar in the huge lobby area where they make excellent drinks. You can also buy water and cokes to go. You can even take your cocktail with you to the room! The pool is big and climate controlled. The bar is nice and the waiters will bring you drinks and food. You are given key cards for towel service which you can also take across the street to the beach (they rent beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach for next to nothing). There's a great gym, sauna and spa on site. We were there for Carnival so there was lots of traffic but the area is easily accessible by taxi and is close to Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana as well as Barra de Tijuca in the other direction. We took a cab to Corcovado for the Christ Redeemer even all the way to Lapa which was expensive..to save money take the subway in Rio then grab a cab in Leblon to Sao Conrado, it's like 5-10 minutes away. As for the cons my biggest complaint is that the front desk staff, some of the pool bartenders and restaurant hostesses tend to not be very warm. Frankly they looked stressed out, like they had a tyrannical boss or something. When we checked out no one said goodbye

We were there for Carnival so there was lots of traffic but the area is easily accessible by taxi and is close to Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana as well as Barra de Tijuca in the other direction. We took a cab to Corcovado for the Christ Redeemer even all the way to Lapa which was expensive..to save money take the subway in Rio then grab a cab in Leblon to Sao Conrado, it's like 5-10 minutes away. As for the cons my biggest complaint is that the front desk staff, some of the pool bartenders and restaurant hostesses tend to not be very warm. Frankly they looked stressed out, like they had a tyrannical boss or something. When we checked out no one said goodbye

My stay at Hotel Nacional was severely disappointing, primarily due to poor customer service. Staff refused luggage assistance, and contacting the front desk or housekeeping via room phones was difficult. Spa services were weak, lacking requested pressure. Security was intrusive, constantly surveilling and racially profiling guests, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Housekeeping was inadequate, providing insufficient towels and no washcloths. There was no on-site laundry. Food quality was poor: wilted salad, poorly made pizza, and incorrect preparation of simple items like chicken nuggets. Drinks were overpriced compared to nearby beach options. Facilities were lacking, with a small crowded pool closing early at 9 PM, no hot tub, and no nightlife events. Check-in/out processes were inefficient and outdated, charging $20 for a mandatory room key if lost. Overall, due to poor service, intrusive security, and substandard amenities, I strongly advise against staying here.

O hotel é bem bonito, foi todo reformado, a suíte que eu fiquei era excelente, cama king confortável, banheiro excelente e a banheira de imersão fez toda a diferença. O check in deixou bastante a desejar - Não me concederem early check in (mesmo sendo um hotel VIP ACCESS - não deram a mínima para um hóspede de status GOLD na Expedia / Hotels.com e tãopouco me foi oferecido os drinks que tb são cortesias do meu Gold. O pior fato aconteceu depois: em menos de 1 hora na suíte recebemos uma ligação da recepção pedindo para agilizarmos o check out do dia seguinte pq receberiam um grupo de hóspedes - Achei um tanto quanto indelicado dado que tinhamos acabado de nos intalar e sem contar que meu GOLD tb da direito a late check out que OBVIAMENTE foi negado. O restaurante MASI que fica no último andar é realmente excelente - a hostess foi extremamente educada e gentil e o segundo garçon que nos atendeu idem. Incialmente foi um show de horrores - nos primeiros 20 min fomos totalmente ignorados - só nos serviram agua e nem a dose de sake que pedimos junto com a agua foi servida. O café da manhã foi outra decepção para um hotel 5* - Pão de queijo frio, opções de frios comparevéis a um IBIS, poucas opçoes de fruta, nenhum iogurte...
