The only option available to book was the part of the lodge that was not updated. We asked for an upgrade at checkin but they were not able to accomodate. Instead the front desk staff provided free breakfast for our stay which was very generous. Loved my spa booking and the staff in the spa. Enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. We got the same server, Willi, at both breakfasts. He was so nice and made it a pleasure. Everything needed was onsite. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Everything is picture perfect. There are many activities in the main Wilson lodge building and around the lodge. The only thing that needs to be taken care of the gaming zone where most of the arcade machines are malfunctioning and need repair or replacement.

Let's start off with the pool was not even heated, so couldn't use that. Second booked 3 rooms and didn't put us near each other had to call and get the rooms switched around.Next one of the rooms had empty condom rappers in it. Also if your room is next to some screaming kids, you will hear everything and lastly the beds are extremely uncomfortable and dust everywhere in our room.

We had the red panda experience booked at the good zoo, and decided to stay at the resort after. Check-in was incredibly easy, and the receptionist that checked us in even gave us a free breakfast! The facilities were clean and easy to navigate, and the indoor pool was clean and a pleasant way to wind down after our day! Will definitely be back to do some golfing on at least 1 of the many courses there!

Expected better. Lodge was nicely decorated for holidays and pool area was enjoyable. However, rooms were not very clean. One bed had dirty sheets that clearly were not washed. Ordered food from restaurant and they said they'd call when it was ready. 50 min later I called and they said it had been sitting there but they didn't have my number. I definitely gave it to them. Beds were rickety and very loud w every movement. In the morning a dog was barking constantly. If I paid one star hotel prices it would be almost tolerable but not for the amount we spent. We had 2 nice meals at restaurants in Wheeling so I'd visit the region again but stay elsewhere.

The Oglebay outdoor scenery is beautiful. Our room was very dated, but okay. All occupants of our room developed bed bug bites the next day! Very distressing. We left a message and have yet to been contacted by the resort.

Granted, I rented the least expensive, and obviously most rustic, room, it still should've been cleaned adequately. There was a dirty sock behind one, and trash behind both nightstands; and so many cobwebs, I didn't dare stick my hand back there to plug in my phone charger. There were water and toothpaste spittle spots on the shelf in the bathroom. And I had to douse the room with odor eliminator to get rid of the horrible odor. There were also cigarette butts all around the "patio." The only reason I kept the room is because the bed and towels LOOKED clean!

Upon arrival they had changed our room from what we were originally told.the carpets were very dirty many stains.bugs cobwebs mold behind night stands and bugs beside shower in corner 😞

We had a nice two-night stay here. My kids enjoyed the indoor pool area and game room. Our room was clean and comfortable. We found the breakfast buffet at Skyline (extra charge) each morning to be worth the money. It was delicious. We took advantage of the decent weather and explored the property. We would stay here again.

The chalets are amazing for the price. Sizeable room with a large balcony and stone mantle, floor to ceiling, woodburning fireplace with plenty of firewood.

The room was in the basement n an outbuilding. We had to walk from the room approximately a hundred yards to get to the main building and then walk at least another 200 yards to get to an ice machine. We had no chairs on the dirty concrete and no chairs in the room. The tv was very small and if you wanted to watch you had to stand.

Oglebay Park has always been one of my favorite places. Wilson Lodge has updated some of their rooms. Although we stayed in the updated section of the lodge, the room was still old looking in the bathroom and small in the bedroom. Just need to rearrange/redesign the rooms.

The resort was nice, old of course. The room was pitiful. No clock, no refrigerator, no microwave. The bed was hard as a rock. The cost of the room for the 2 nights was absolutely ridiculous in relation to what we stayed in. There was not even a dirty clothes bag for us to use.

Beautiful property and facility. Didn’t get to stay long enough to enjoy it. Had major issues with original room ad we were moved to a smaller less desirable location and room. This one had no sitting area or fridge and the shower had empty dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. Management did not respond to my communication. Thought we might get a discount of some sort for all the issues and problems-NOPE!! Unresponsive!!

It was really hard u need a gps to get to your room it’s so big a the workers wasnt to helpful with helping us find it, another guy staying there had to help us. There was also a lot of the things to do there that were closed and this was mid summer when they shoulda been open. Someone charged $100 breakfast on our room so when they went to their restaurant there they don’t make you give a name or show ID just the room number, that definitely needs to be changed. Wonder how many people that happens to an they don’t catch it like we did. When we called they did say they would refund it so waiting on that. It’s just so big an everything is spread out all over, you either have to drive or rent a golf cart or take their trolly (we drove) everything is extremely expensive so make sure you take enough money before going, The morning we were leaving there was a housekeeped guy that was faded out (high as heck) all leaned up on his cleaning cart

We had a great stay at the Lodge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was not ready yet when we arrived, and they gave us free breakfast at the dining hall each morning of our stay as a thank you for waiting patiently. The customer service there is top notch! There are a lot of different activities and events that go on there and they are all fun - truly something for everyone. The room was clean and met our expectations. A great stay!

This resort is a venue for weddings and other events. We found it quite loud. Additionally, it is very large and the signage is inadequate to help guests locate parking and the various buildings in which they may be housed. The restaurant was pleasant, but quite a long walk from our room. There do seem to be a lot of possible activities (we saw guests in swan boats,on segues, etc), but for our purposes (a quiet night) it was not the right choice,alas.

I stayed to go to the Holiday Dinner and Show which was great. It was also crowded with nowhere to park. My boyfriend is elderly and cannot walk long distances as the hotel room, was several blocks away from where the dinner was and show. I had the last handicapped parking spot by my room entrance. When I drove him to the show someone took that spot and I had to go around back and make my way to the front of Wilson lodge by the lake for the last handicapped parking space. Somehow I made my way through the halls and to the elevator to the dinner that was still going on but it is confusing and easy to get lost which I found going to get the car after the trolley tour of the Festival of Lights, I learned one can stay inside and get to my room but I could not get out the door to my car. I had to walk all the way around which I did not mind it is an enjoyable walk, but I had to leave my friend at the bar where he was about to have a drink and really join the rowdy party and he is 94 years old. I f you get driving around hunting parking spots at night especially, there is this paved road that goes up the hill like one of the regular roads and many of the roads are narrow single lane. It goes to the top of the hill to Wilson Lodge but at the top there is this cement slab not too high maybe six inches with two cement tire tracks and another drop of six inches at the end I hope it did not bother my car because I took that road and went over it to get that parking space.

it was absolutely beautiful. The property grounds are beautiful, well cared for. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. So much to do needed another few days we will def. return and try to make it yearly at least. Free sunday concert was a nice plus. Different options for meals, really like the Cantina. The rolling hills and golf course was just beautiful. The trolley ride was super convenient. we didnt drive the property at all. we got picked up and dropped off at the carriage house, gift shop, gardens, then over to the pool. The trolley driver was friendly and gave us some of the history. Hoping to make it back for festival of lights but summer vacay was a 10.

We had been to the resort in the past and it was wonderful. I can\'t say that this time. The dining choices were few, food was just ok, My husband and I both got sick from the pizza which tasted like someone put sugar in the sauce. When we got in out room we were going to put drinks in the fridge, it was off. We tried to turn it on for a couple hours, it didn\'t work at all. In the bathroom the ceiling fan vent was covered in "fur" from the dirt. Little to do. Staff at the bar in the hotel was very nice. 20.00 for breakfast buffet that was rather limited and not more than average. This was a disappointing trip from our last stay.

First of all, please note my review is a very situational one. I have Celiac so I cannot have gluten or I will get very ill. The ONLY bad thing about my stay was the lack of options for me to eat on property, then every vending machine I went to on property was not working for cards or cash, so I couldn’t even get safe snacks from the vending machine. The on site gift shop did not have good safe food options for me either. However that being said, the staff was wonderful. For example, there was a wonderful server Tyler at the Garden Bistro who was helpful with the gluten — by the way that was the only on site restaurant with gluten free, safe food options. All the staff were so kind and helpful and knowledgeable about the property. The museums and shops were amazing. The amenities were good. The mini golf was a bit run down but it just seemed like it needed updating — I saw they were doing construction in other parts of the resort and I know only so much can be done at once. Aside from the food options and a few things being a bit outdated, it was just lovely.

This is a beautiful property inside and out!! The restaurants were great, the room was very comfortable and clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the trails and outdoor activities. We will definitely be back again.

Just returned from another wonderful stay at Oglebay Resort, and once again, it exceeded my expectations! This continues to be a fantastic destination for our family. The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable, and noticeably updated. It was a welcoming and relaxing space to return to after a day of activities. My son absolutely loved the pool and the game room. These amenities were a huge hit and kept him happily entertained during any downtime we had. It's great knowing there are such enjoyable options on-site for kids. A highlight of our stay was the breakfast buffet. The selection was amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from, and I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced it was. It was the perfect way to start our mornings. Overall, our experience at Oglebay Resort was once again exceptional. The combination of comfortable accommodations, excellent amenities for children, and delicious food makes it a truly enjoyable getaway. We can't wait to plan our next stay at Oglebay!
