Free breakfast was very good. We used the hot tub and the pool area was clean with plenty of towels. Water slides were not up and running but we didn't want to use them anyway. Very disappointed that the lounge closes at 3 on Sunday. We didn't realize that and arrived after 7 hungry and tired. Saw in the morning that we could've ordered a pizza or purchased an easy mac from the front desk. Woman who checked us in was not friendly, never smiled, and seemed like she didn't want to be there. Didn't feel very welcoming which is probably why we missed the front desk food options. Gentleman working the desk in the morning was much more pleasant, but we were already on our way out. Only stayed about 15 hours, as it was an overnight stop on the way to The Field of Dreams site from Milwaukee.

Great time staying one night to get away for the little waterpark. Perfect for little ones, water was heated and beach style entry was great. Good restaurants are only a free minutes away.

This was the last night in our 5 night trip and it was such a fun little place to end with! They have a water park, which is the main reason we picked it. Although it was during the week and our little was the only one on site, they were happy to turn on the extra water things for her. We enjoyed the water park and hot tub very much! Staff was very friendly and although the hotel is a little older, you can tell much pride and attention goes into keeping it nice!

Front desk attendant seemed annoyed that we checked in. The room was filled with house flies dead and alive. The pool had so many house flies floating in the water. The pool equipment had some rust and some broken pets of the stairs to the slide. Overall, I would NOT recommend.

I like that the rooms were clean and the slides and pool area were open late. My only suggestion would be to get safety certifications on the water park area. That part made me a little nervous, although the kids had a blast in there

There wasn't really option for breakfast which is included in the price for the stay. The pool was very dirty and the stair to the water slides where in rough shape. It felt weak in some spots. The hot tub had a nasty Foam on it. The hallways looked dirty and needing to be vaccumed and there was dust everywhere. I know that it has the potential to be a awesome hotel it just needs a little TLC.

We loved everything about this property, until my son and I spent 2+ hrs in the water park. I wound up with rashes on my skin, extremely irritated, and burning sensation in the eyes, and my son had a severe allergic reaction to the chlorine, and chlorine burns under his eyes. It was so bad, we had considered the possibility of an ER run had eye flushing, and Benadryl not worked. My son is on a swim team too, so we’ve never experienced this before. I think they maybe using a harsh amount of chlorine or chemicals to compensate for children tinkling in the pool. It really put a damper in our weekend. That is my only complaint. Otherwise we absolutely loved everything else about Deer Valley! Great continental breakfast, awesome food options at the bar too!

This place is great. Very clean, very cute. My only issue was we chose it for the “waterpark”. While there is one, it wasn’t accessible to my daughter due to no life guard…… which great, it was late. However, there are signs all over stating no lifeguard on duty. Does this mean it is never open? If so, it needs to be known. Over-all it was great .

Excellent aesthetics for the area especially if you're there to hunt. Rustic and welcoming. Its not overly fancy, but its well maintained and ammenities like the indoor pool slides and the quaint bar are great! Will go back

I will NOT stay at this hotel again! When I checked in, the front desk person didn't even crack a smile. I got to the room and noticed stains on the carpet, hair in the hair dryer, and a moldy shower curtain. I went to the lobby and waited a good 10 minutes for someone to appear at the front desk. While I was waiting, small children were running around and screaming in the lobby while the parent was eating pizza in the sitting area ignoring their kids. Mind you they have a "waterpark" for the kids at this location. No adult pool at this hotel. I asked the front desk to change the moldy curtain and all this time I felt like I was a bother and not a welcome guest. Long story short, the shower curtain was never changed. Everything in this lodge is outdated, they are using the same sheets, towels, and pillows. Their "continental breakfast" is slim pickings. Cold hard-boiled eggs with make-your-own waffle station with unedible batter.

Very nice family stay. Just could use some deep cleaning or updating in areas. Also when we arrived there was housekeeping folding sheets on the tables used for breakfast.

Good: spotlessly clean, excellent service, friendly staff, updated bathroom fixtures and floor, updated microwave, refrigerator, and TV, water park access included - nice small pool and play area for children, hot tub! Not so good: older facility with very dated furniture and carpet. All indirect lighting in the room - had to turn on all 8 lights individually and each had a different kind of switch (pull chain, push button, rotate knob), room was still kind of dark. Located in a tiny town, GPS indicated the nearest grocery store was half an hour away, just one restaurant nearby - Ope Haus - good food, bad service.

We really liked the individual nature of the Deer Valley Lodge - the decorating with antlers, the cabin-like furniture, it's a refreshing change from chain hotels. The room was clean, comfortable and the views from the hotel are just lovely. The breakfast is pretty minimal but we were glad to have it. And we liked the country location a lot.

Other reviews stated that the property was outdated and the staff wasnt friendly. That wasnt our experience at all. We had a new flat screen tv in our room and the room was super clean. We even got to have the whole water park to ourselves for 2 hours! The only bad thing was the mattress was kinda hard and the pillows real flat. Other than that it was great!

First of all, it is a beautiful property and the Saloon was an added bonus...when it was open. The Lodge itself was very charming and inviting. We were a bit disappointed that there was no Microwave in our room and the walk in shower, altho great, ended up with water all over the floor..kind of wierd, but we out towels on the floor 😀 Probably the worst part was the room up above our room...very, very noisy with the bratty kids, yeh, i said it... We called the front desk, and it was quiet for maybe an hour, and then the noise continued until 1:00 AM... I should stare also, that an unruly kid pulked the Fire Alarm, and the Staff was right on it, getting a lot of people together as they calmly checked it out...Kudos to them!!!

Deer Valley Lodge was a great place to stay with our two kids. We loved that there was a bar with food options available, as well as a little shop with things we may need. Our kids enjoyed the pool and water features! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were beautiful with nice outdoor sitting areas. Great stay!

Cold hard-boiled eggs with make-your-own waffle station with unedible batter.
I will NOT stay at this hotel again! When I checked in, the front desk person didn't even crack a smile. I got to the room and noticed stains on the carpet, hair in the hair dryer, and a moldy shower curtain. I went to the lobby and waited a good 10 minutes for someone to appear at the front desk. While I was waiting, small children were running around and screaming in the lobby while the parent was eating pizza in the sitting area ignoring their kids. Mind you they have a "waterpark" for the kids at this location. No adult pool at this hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, fun northwoods decor and a convenient location based on our planned day tr ips. Breakfast had a nice variety of choices,the attendant kept items stocked and the area was clean. We forgot our laptop computer in the room when we checked out. When we called the manager Travis and employee Tim were very helpful. They checked the room quickly and had it waiting for us when we came back to get it. We are grateful for their help and honesty.

It is located in a great place just off the highway 30 minutes to Madison and 30 minutes to House on the Rock and absolutely love the surrounding landscape, scenery on a golf course plus near great food (Ope Haus is delicious!) Breakfast and drinks were filling, we enjoyed the activities for kids it is perfect for a low key water park like feel with the fantastic slides, ping pong and game room. Spacious and clean rooms. We will stay again!

We really liked the individual nature of the Deer Valley Lodge - the decorating with antlers, the cabin-like furniture, it's a refreshing change from chain hotels. The room was clean, comfortable and the views from the hotel are just lovely. The breakfast is pretty minimal but we were glad to have it. And we liked the country location a lot.

It’s beautiful, awesome staff, comfortable beds, rooms were large, great continental breakfast, rooms are reasonably priced and quiet. Location was just off Hwy. 151 and easy to get to. It’s well kept. It has a water park that looks like a lot of fun. We didn’t use it only because we were too tired. Would definitely recommend and go back to.

Came to this area to see the house on the rock and the American players. It is a very nice facility with a water park and golfing. Clean and it was a good price. Quiet hours enforce so nice for sleeping. Would recommend.

Free breakfast was very good. We used the hot tub and the pool area was clean with plenty of towels. Water slides were not up and running but we didn't want to use them anyway. Very disappointed that the lounge closes at 3 on Sunday. We didn't realize that and arrived after 7 hungry and tired. Saw in the morning that we could've ordered a pizza or purchased an easy mac from the front desk. Woman who checked us in was not friendly, never smiled, and seemed like she didn't want to be there. Didn't feel very welcoming which is probably why we missed the front desk food options. Gentleman working the desk in the morning was much more pleasant, but we were already on our way out. Only stayed about 15 hours, as it was an overnight stop on the way to The Field of Dreams site from Milwaukee.

We loved everything about this property, until my son and I spent 2+ hrs in the water park. I wound up with rashes on my skin, extremely irritated, and burning sensation in the eyes, and my son had a severe allergic reaction to the chlorine, and chlorine burns under his eyes. It was so bad, we had considered the possibility of an ER run had eye flushing, and Benadryl not worked. My son is on a swim team too, so we’ve never experienced this before. I think they maybe using a harsh amount of chlorine or chemicals to compensate for children tinkling in the pool. It really put a damper in our weekend. That is my only complaint. Otherwise we absolutely loved everything else about Deer Valley! Great continental breakfast, awesome food options at the bar too!

Excellent aesthetics for the area especially if you're there to hunt. Rustic and welcoming. Its not overly fancy, but its well maintained and ammenities like the indoor pool slides and the quaint bar are great! Will go back

We appreciated the room complete with a comfortable bed, nicely functioning AC, easy to use TV, mini-frig with freezer compartment, and bathroom divided into two parts. The complimentary breakfast was a bit thin, but adequate. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful!

I was looking for a hotel with a pool for the kids, and this was the perfect one. The kids swam all day and rested comfortably in the room at night. Breakfast is standard, but I’d say it’s plentiful. One thing I think is worth mentioning: the lady at the front desk told me that coffee was free all day for guests and that I could let her know when it ran out, so that alone deserves 5 stars from me.

We stayed here because of an event our family had in Barneveld, WI. It was good. The linens were a bit tired but clean. The pool and hot tub were kept decently clean though the kids on the weekends pretty much took the place over. The staff were helpful with what the area had to offer. I would stay here again.

Old property with musty rooms. When we arrived, there was nobody at the desk or in the lobby. It was empty. I rang the desk bell. Then I called the reservation line. Eventually someone emerged (holding a pizza). I stood at the desk for almost an hour while they figured out how the computer worked and how to check us in. It was a tough night.
