Stayed 2 nights

We were here for just two nights but we had a very pleasant experience! The rooms were very nice for a rustic lake atmosphere. Beds were comfortable and they set out a nice breakfast every day. The on site restaurant was awesome too! Kayaks were complementary. Location is perfect between Inlet and Old Forge.

Beautiful views, nice rooms and amenities. Maintenance of the place could use some work but overall a beautiful relaxing stay.

Stayed 3 nights

The property's reviews and photos didn't match our experience. Many buildings, especially the building we stayed in, had rotten wood and peeling paint throughout the exterior. Our building was covered in cobwebs and dirt, including the windows. Our room was advertised as a lakeview room. The dirty windows and lack of outside seating prevented us from enjoying this feature (priced at twice the price of other rooms). The room had cobwebs inside, filthy baseboards, and the chairs and one blanket were spotted with dried-on food or bodily fluids. In the bathroom, there was hair and cobwebs along the heating register. The air conditioner was very noisy and didn't really cool the room. I spoke to a person at the reception desk after the first night. She was very responsive, arranged for an experienced housekeeper to clean the room, and lowered our bill. She explained that many of the staff were young and needed more training, and that there were difficulties in getting and retaining employees in the area. She said that the building we stayed in was quite old and that the repairs were being made. Other local businesses told us the owner was rarely onsite. By comparison, we spent the next three nights in another property east of Great Pines. It was old (1930s) and was in excellent condition; the staff was very well trained and provided superb service for our entire stay. The owners were onsite and available.
