We stayed at Pony Island passing through Ocracoke last year. We were so impressed that we intentionally booked to stay there on our way through again this year. The place is simple. No frills. It’s super clean, though, and the staff is fantastic! The restaurant on the property has good food and good service and the pool has been well maintained during both of our stays.

It was a very clean and looked newly renovated. Very quiet which was wonderful. The ONLY downside is that there was no washer or dryer. It would have been nice to dry our beach towels. Otherwise it was still a very nice place and we will most certainly stay again.

The room was large and had a surprising dining table. But the AC didn’t work. We had to open all the windows and blinds to get a breeze. Enjoyed the room as a whole but we slept very little since it was almost 90 during the day and 80 at night. The pool was nice and not crowded.

Paying extra for poolside was a scam. It was advertised as 1st floor, but it isn't. There are no poolside units. It was an average unit, with a horrible musty odor. The staff were polite and helpful to the area.

Property is very clean and well kept. The rooms are some of the cleanest I have experienced. The staff is very nice and courteous. We were there on a busy weekend and they still took the time to make us feel welcome. Thank you for providing a great, safe place to stay.

Room was spacious and clean, however there were several black hairs on our bathroom vanity, the pillow case and under the comforter on the top sheets. Roger the manager was quick to send housekeeping for a sheet change. The housekeeper came but was very offended evidently that we had complained about the hairs in the bed and bathroom. She had a very angry, bad attitude the few minutes she was in our room changing the sheets. I thanked her several times for changing the sheets, but she was having none of it. Even though I showed her all the black hairs in the bed, she kept brushing me off, shaking her head and saying I know these sheets are clean, I washed them myself. I tried to tell her Im sure she had but somewhere, somehow lots of black hairs got on them and I didnt want to sleep in them. Unfortunate way to start our time there. Roger the manager was very apologetic. The restaurant next door was superb, service, attitudes and food.

We arrived with a big thunderstorm and the Streets were flooded. No Chance to Book a gulf cart to catch some Dinner neither they could give us an umbrella! The beds are really uncomfortable and we had big cocroaches on the balcony….i think i would Book something Else next time.

Rm. 109 was an end unit, past the stairs. Very private, no one passed by. I was quite happy with the simple but nice room layout. AC worked quite well. Comfortable bed. Parking very close, and a ramp to help moving luggage.

We stayed at Pony Island Inn for the first time on july 12 for one evening. Upon checking i was greeted by Roger who was friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The room was exactly as advertised and was very clean especially since the room had a kitchenette. Beds were comfortable and i liked the body wash and shampoo dispenser in the show which saves alot of plastic trash. Well situated near some great restaurants and amenities. Would definately recommend and will be staying there next time we're in Okracoke!

Nice property and just past most of the restaurants and shopping, which was nice. Closer to the beach access. Still within walking distance of the main thoroughfare. Good amount of space and it was clean inside. Nice size eat in area/kitchenette. Loved the restaurant for breakfast just a few steps away. The back view of the room was RV parking and what looked like a backyard with junk. Not the best view. The blinds in the bathroom near the shower were also not adequate to keep others from seeing in. Would suggest new blinds and curtains. The pillows were also super flat. Bring your own. Parking was tight and had to park across the street from hotel room.

The front desk staff was EXCEPTIONAL!!! I cannot say enough about their kindness and hospitality. They helped us understand the Hatteras Ferry schedules so we would not miss it for our son's basketball game. The room we stayed in was super clean, cozy, and just what we needed. Arrived to find a bed that was absolutely terrible. They basically told me tough luck and that they were booked solid. No refund. After complaining to you people, they magically found another room. The parking lot was virtually empty that night as well as the next morning. Bottom line, they lied.

Property was clean and convenient Morning desk attendant was mature and very helpful in answering our questions. Gave us printed info and her personal preferences also. Evening 'girl' was curt on every occasion, and ill-suited for the hospitality industry. Stopped by to buy a couple of ice creams at 7:55, with cash. She couldn’t/wouldn't process a cash transaction, stating she was closing in 3 minutes. She did offer to charge my room, but we were leaving early because Ocracoke is DEAD this time of the year. Before i could get back with my credit card (2 minutes), she had locked up and left! Juvenile and self-serving attitude. Probably would not stay again

The folks there are outstanding. We had an issue with rental car and lost car keys and phones. Grayson, Roger, Kim, Chris and Gary were so caring. Let my wife and i use their phone, stay an extra night, took messages for us and directed us to people on the island that could help. Enterprise left us without a car ...for 3 days . The people there were so wonderful to us. My wife and I very highly recommended The Pony Island inn to stay at on Ocracoke Island. Thanks so much from the bottom of our hearts for caring about us.

Awesome stay here! We Lucked out and grabbed a room here last minute. Staff was very kind and friendly, room was clean and loved the convenience of the door code versus keeping a key with you. Pool was clean and refreshing after a hot day at the beach. The location is amazing as well and close to everything

For a relatively remote island, the facilities met and exceeded all my expectations. The hotel is located very close to some popular eating destinations, and the locals provide an electric tram service that can take you pretty much anywhere on the island you want to go that you don't feel like walking to. We will definitely stay here again.

No complaints. We were in a newer two story building; the room was very nice and clean. We were also there during the off-season, but Roger at the desk told us which restaurants were open and to be sure to prepare for breakfast (which we purchased from the general store across the street and enjoyed in the room). Within easy walking distance to sops and restaurants.

Great location! Less than 1/4 mile to three great dining options and the inn has the best breakfast place on the island! A beautiful 1/2 mile walk to the lighthouse or the harbor. Very quiet and comfortable!
