Appalachian Motel

Location is more to the country side very quiet and peaceful. Love it clean fresh air. Comfortable clean bed, and sparkling bathroom. This a motel room do not expect 5 star hotel amenities, but it was renovated and clean. It comes with a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee maker.

We liked the view of the mountain. There was alot of space to walk the dog. Check in is old school but efficient, just takes longer. We will use again.

Much better than expected. After reading other reviews, I brought my own airbed and sheets... but I didn't need them. The room looked much better than the pictures (but there is no longer a couch) The first room smelled like smoke but not manager's fault someone smoked there. Next room was perfect. Everything was clean, and all the little things were there: Full sets of towels, toiletries, plenty of outlets and USB ports, lights, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker (only enough coffee for one pot). The walls are thin. If you're noise sensitive, bring ear plugs or run the fan unit all night, which is what I did. AC cycles on and off. Luckily I didn't need AC.

Very cleanroom. TV remote a bit messed up but got it working. Parking at the door. Check a bit sketchy due to language differences. Phone outside office says pick up for service. Pound on the door for service..

False advertising. There is no laundry facility. The owner offered to do a load of wash for me at $10 a person. I wasn't allowed to wash my own clothes. The air conditioner was horrible, and struggled to keep up. Horrible night's sleep. Avoid

This was a satisfactory hotel if you weren't going to be in the room much. No food available. The hot water took more than 10 minutes to get to the room.

We had a room with 2 Queen beds. Everything was neat and clean. It had a refridgerater & microwave. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and helpful.

Not the most modern room but definitely great for the value. The price was very reasonable and the room included a mini fridge, small microwave, free WiFi & parking. The motel is located on a hill w/ a nice view of the mountains, etc.

Shower floor had set in dirt/stains.TV had no volume. Ad discribed laundry facility which the clerk said they don't have and was the main reason I picked it. It was very reasonably priced

The room was very dirty. The show floor was particularly bad, and the linens in one of the beds were dirty. There was dirt on the floor and there was a Burger King cup in the refrigerator.

Everything was dirty. Bed sheets, comforters, bathroom and even the towels. The beds were the worst, visible stains. My buddy had a bug in his bed...which made us rip apart the entire bed and make sure we were in the clear. Owners were nice, but man this place is dirty. Only good thing was the shower water pressure and the AC/Heat worked good lol.

The room needed to cleaned properly there were several black particles and hair on the beds. The shower floor needed a deep scrub. The coffee machine was very dirty.

The room was dirty , the bed sheets and mattress covers stained and hair on it, and lastly the bathroom sink had hair in it as well. No power after 10pm so I checked out next morning after paying for two nights. Not happy at all. I asked for new bed sheets but it didn’t change the fact that I was still disgusted. I understand it’s a motel but they really need to improve on cleaning.

Very clean and quiet typical motel. Lovely staff. Very affordable. Minutes from Mountain Creek resort. Id recommend it to anyone.

The room was spotless and I have all the space I need to be extremely comfortable. The host and hostess have gone out of their way to make me comfortable. The motel is surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains and there are shops nearby for anything anyone might need. The motel is a wonderful place to stay and rest. I highly recommend the Appalachian Motel. Definitely a 5 star experience.

Needs a good cleaning.

The man who checked us in with a handwritten registration form and a real metal key was very nice. The room was quiet and the bed was comfy. Forgot to bring my pillows and the ones on the bed had seen better days. TV was good. The new, large shower would have been awesome if it appeared clean on the floor. It was cheap and dated. It appeared clean and was fine.

I checked in but did not stay. My first room had blood and brown stains on the sheets. The manager made me go back to the room and show him and then said we will clean. When I asked when that would happen he gave me a second room. That room had mold in the shower, a crusty shower head, and cardboard and masking tape shoved in the baseboard heater. Do not stay here. The management grows very upset if you complain about the cleanliness. I did not feel safe after saying I could not stay in either room due to the things described above.

This place was absolutely wonderful, especially for the great price! The room was very clean and up to date. Very happy with our stay here!

This motel is overpriced, no value for the money,,, the facility is someone unsafe too many thresholds, I don't think I've ever written that in a review, however the curb from your parking area, is excesively high,, the rooms are at best threadbare,,,,,, the television barely worked,,, most of the lighting did not work,, kind of like camping,, not glamping

While the room wasn't pristine or perfect, the defects were very few and quite minor. The bathroom was a pleasant surprise, too, as it was much nicer than average for the room price.

I will start with what I did like and that is the setting of the motel. Beautiful countryside. The negatives are as follows:- I was concerned about the use of a multi plug connector with about six different items plugged into it. I was very wary about touching this in case I got a shock. I was worried about security. In nearly all hotel and motels there is an additional method of securing the door as well as the door lock. There was an extra lock at one time but this was broken so it is not a case of not thinking about the extra security. I was irritated by the noise of the bathroom extractor fan. It was quite loud whilst I was awake. When I wanted to go to sleep it was going to be too noisy to sleep. I was not impressed with the lack of care to the property. There were gaps between the sink and the wall. At ground level it looked like they had tried to fill in a gap, which looked a mess. The air conditioner was erratic. i had trouble getting it to work unless I set the temperature down to 62 degrees. It was quite a hot sticky night so I really wanted this to work properly. I didn't think this was a cheap motel. It was quite expensive and didn't even include breakfast. I should have realised this before I arrived. If I had known about the above I would not have booked this motel. I usually tried to ensure I select at least a 7 in rating. I do understand there are issues in running a motel but, to me, the above are just the basics.

Beautiful setting. Scary (dangerous) access to driveway off and onto fast curving hillside road. Would benefit from convex traffic mirror opposite driveway. Beds extremely comfortable. Shower good. Everything else adequate, but that's okay with us. Had all we needed.

Air conditioner was not working properly.

Old school motel. It was comfortable, had all the basic needs. Lights were not very bright. TV was very good but volume must have been set. I would stay here again.

Highly recommend! Amazing staff and services!

The "manager" is not very friendly. Had a problem with the TV and it seemed very inconvenient for him to fix. He talked loud and was very rude, and still the issue wasn't totally fixed. When asked for an extended checkout, he was very nasty about that as well. And of course I was denied, even after having problems with the room.

Property management was horrendous. Check out time stated 11:00am, manager insisted it was 10:30am. I’ve never experienced a situation like this before, clearly I would never recommend this horrible property. Expedia should end their relationship with them .

My standards were low. Somehow they still missed. I arrived to checkin and you can’t enter the lobby. It’s unclear if you’re supposed to buzz or pickup the phone (ew) that’s outside, so I did both. Eventually someone came and let me in, and the rate was different from my confirmation. Blank stares from the attendant. Eventually I pay for the room and he hands me the key. I turn around to go to my room, and the attendant followed me - a solo female traveler - to my room. Proceeds to tell me not to touch the AC. I’m assuming that’s what he said anyway. There seemed to be a language barrier, he pointed to it (from inside my room) and said “75”. So I’m not supposed to touch the thermostat in a room I’m paying for? In terms of comfort, the bed was the equivalent of a thin foam pad over plywood. I pulled back the covers and see black curly hairs embedded in the stained sheets. Went and got my own bedding from my car because that’s gross and implies they didn’t change the sheets let alone wash them. But I’m already checked in and racing in the morning and don’t have time to figure something else out. The microwave buttons were covered in greasy fingerprints and the room felt damp to the point I didn’t want to take my socks and shoes off. I passed on the shower. Slept and packed up and out by 5:15AM Perks - under 15 minutes to my race. Parking a non issue. It had a bed, a working bathroom, and a door with a lock. I guess it had a microwave (I didn’t open it) and a mini-fridge.

Inconvenient check in, door was locked to office , had to wait long, after ringing the doorbell. Gentleman was rude and would not answer questions. Also very inpatient.

Do not book this motel! if you did, good luck dealing with the front desk. I called to see if there’s any room availability and I was told check online and hung up on me. The bed sheets are dirty, and I woke up scratching my whole body, water takes a lot of time before it gets warm. AC turns on/off even if it’s not on auto. I was charged extra even though i booked a 2 beds and it sleeps 4. On top of that, it took me 20 minutes before checking in because there was no one in the front.

Great hotel for a trip up in the mountains. Great location to the ski resorts and well maintained.

It is close to the AT for hiking. Warwick is close for shopping and restaurants

Property is hard to locate using Google and then the turn heading to Vernon to the property is super sharp right hand turn.

Mountain top views, close to town and scenic attractions. And yes, a walk back in time to the 50's 60's set up from childhood vacations.

It is a dated place but I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. The area and the room were very clean. The mattress was excellent. It was also quiet. In my room was a microwave and refrigerator. Very close to Warwick NY Main Street.

This was our third stay at the Appalachian Motel since 2019. If we revisit this area we'll continue to stay with this small locally owned establishment. Staff are attentive and very kind. Location is safe, quiet, and restful. Rooms are well maintained, clean, and beds are very comfortable. Conveniently located between Veron Township, NJ and Warwick, NY it offers a wide spectrum of restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this motel for anyone visiting this pastoral area of New England.

As a hiker, I didn’t expect much and received my expectations. The price was a bit high for the obviously older facility. For walkers, it was not close to restaurants,stores, or laundry facilities. Although it is not the fault of the motel, the roadways are a bit dangerous for walkers as there is little room to escape traffic. They did not clean the room or make a bed in the three days we were there.
