TownePlace Suites by Marriott Chattanooga Near Hamilton Place

Overnight stay while traveling through Chattanooga. Clean, spacious room, quiet, large bathroom (they gave us an ‘accessible’ room so wide enough for wheel chair and a folding seat in the tub which we did not use. We used the small kitchen area mainly for the fridge/freezer to keep our travel food cold. But there were dishes/mugs, utensils and pots/pans, 2 electric burners, microwave and even a dishwasher available. Very comfortable bed and room. Only complaint was that they do not have enough parking for the hotel, so we had to park in an adjacent lot also owned by Marriott for another hotel chain. (Used a luggage cart to cart our luggage since it was a little bit of a walk). Inconvenient but a fair trade off for the comfort of a good clean hotel at a reasonable price. Breakfast buffet was exceptional. Traffic between Chattanooga and Knoxville is terrible, but that does not reflect on the hotel, just something to be aware of. Would stay here again.

The fire alarm went off at 11pm and continued to go off after we had been brought outside, despite the front desk employee telling us that our was just smoke from someone cooking. It didn't stop until almost midnight, and we weren't apologized to our offered any assistance or recompense for standing outside barefoot with our (now awake but very tired) kids. Otherwise everything was lovely and accommodating.

The staff were exceptionally nice and accommodating. We enjoyed the outdoor firepit.

Place was packed., difficult to find a parking spot. Third in line to check in with only one person working. Tracy was very accommodating though

Not a good impression when I had to park at the residence Inn next door because all spots at TownePlace were taken.

Room was ok and liked larger refrigerator, but floors were dirty and sticky I had to wipe them down. The pool was disgusting and was not heated, no maintenence on site. Was able to use pool next door but night time weather was chilly to walk between buildings

The room and breakfast area were clean and well maintained. The only downside was that the pool was closed for cleaning and didn’t reopen while we were there. The front desk said they didn’t know it was closed. But management said they would address the issue after our stay.

The hotel was acceptable for a one-night stay. Our room was on the small side, but nicely furnished. Breakfast was delicious and varied— and it was super helpful that they offered Uncrustables (we took a couple along in the rest of our road trip). We were disappointed that the pool was closed during our stay. They didn’t tell us at check-in, but offered that we could go to the neighboring affiliated hotel to use their pool. Parking was limited, but they also shared additional parking with the neighboring hotel.

Staff was rude and pool heater broken. The pool was indoor and so cold it was completely unusable!

Pillows smelled like smoke. Carpet had something that looked like dried vomit. Sink mirror was cracked all the way across. No door to the sink area was disturbing to other family members when someone needed to wash hands during the night. 2 full sized mirror in front of the toilet and shower was odd placement.

12 night stay and after the 4th night, I wish I had purchased an option to cancel and move to another hotel. We had our room cleaned once, partially and because we literally waited to leave the hotel that day and caught the house keeping. She rolled her eyes when I told her it was supposed to be our full clean day... she vaccumed and made the bed with the old sheet hang to the floor. We had requested the every other day light clean but they never showed up at all for that, we would grab our trash and dirty towels and bring them to the front desk to swap towels at night or try to catch a house keeper to switch them out. There was mold in our shower and in the cupboard of our kitchen. We asked a house keeper to clean it and she told us to take a picture and show the front desk, she was new and "didn't do that." That led to going doen stairs and back and forth for days with desk and house keeping. They literally never came to clean at all, and didn't even clean the kitchen mold until our last night. Our phone didn't work either so my husband would have to run down every day for all this. He told the desk about the phone not working and she didn't even acknowledge that he said that. She was also on a video chat with some guy and an ear bud in the whole time she was "helping" customers. The breakfast was great for 3 days then awful. They also didn’t have towels one day. No parking but staff parks in handicapped spot. Homeless living in boarded hotel next to it as well.

Our room was spotless. It was equipped with a kitchenette (stovetop, small full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, pots/pans and dishes), which came in handy during our extended stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included hot and cold items. The parking lot was well lit and safe. The view out of our window (towards the back) was less than desirable. The back of the hotel was littered with all kinds of garbage big and small. We are unsure if this was an adjacent lot.

Really clean rooms.

I had checked in on Tuesday spoke with the general manager that night about the room been dirty. she promised to get it done the next day and of course it was not accomplished and the bulbs and the lights and never did get fixed. I was on business trip needed to use a computer and the one computer they had was out of service did not work so they do not have a business center. The room had a small 20 iinch TV. The refrigerator was dirty. On the outside of the basket in the closet was dirty. The lights were out on the desk. The overhead light on the desk light bulb was missing on the desk lamp, and in the hallway, those never did get replaced and the carpet was dirty

Mirror in bathroom was not clean. Baseboards throughout and wall near the door need cleaning. Found a bloodstain on the sheet at bedtime on the first night. It was so late, we just covered it with a towel and asked for the sheet to be changed the next morning. It was not changed. The person at the desk gave me one, and we changed it ourselves. Outlet on desk was dusty. Trash from previous occupant found under desk. Bathroom sink drain was slow, even after I opened it from under the sink. No water pressure from the kitchen sink. Dishwasher was very loud.

Very friendly employees. The hotel lobby and outside was very nice and we liked the location, however the room was not clean and in need of some maintenance. The bathroom was cleaned with a dirty rag, my husband wiped the toilet seat with a towel and when he was done it was black in the area he wiped the seat.

Walked in our room and a/c unit wasn’t working and was actually in pieces. So we didn’t stay. Been dealing with Expedia trying to get a refund and still haven’t received any refund. I’m also done with Expedia I travel weekly and spend money on here weekly. No more! I can’t get anyone to help me. So I’m done! N

We had a nice stay at this hotel. It does have wear and tear like any hotel but for the price the stay was great! Breakfast included each day had different hot foods. The check in easy and the staff was very friendly. Room was spacious with 2 queen beds, a 4 seater table, a full kitchen (minus an oven), and a bathroom. Loved that there was a table to sit at and have meals. Pillows are a bit flat and the bed was hard but that's better than lumpy I suppose. We did have some questionable stains on the window curtain as well as some yellowy drips going down the bathroom closet door. Otherwise everything was in decent cleanliness order. Loved that we could bring our dog. It's a flat $75 fee no matter how long you stay and since we stayed 5 days this was very reasonable. The pool was heated and clean. The kids loved this since it was only 35 degrees outside. Close to a lot of restaurants and shopping without being in the center of it all. Just a quick 2 mile drive away. Overall a nice stay and I would definitely stay at another TownePlace.

The staff was welcoming and pleasant at all times. The rooms are dated with furniture worn and needing replaced. The TV is comically small for a suite. The air conditioner wouldn't stay set and the air that came out smelled very moldy. There was dusty and dirty places throughout the room and bathroom where housekeeping is not doing a thorough job. Area is convenient to get to 75. Breakfast was ok. They really need to either cut the bagels so you can toast them or offer a bagel cutter so guests can do it themselves.

Staff were great, very friendly. Room was tough to enter — key didn’t work properly at first. Building isn’t well insulated; could hear kids running up and down the hall very easily until 10:30pm. Thankfully they quieted down after that. Bed was comfy and room was acceptable.

We were only there one night with a late arrival, so very little interaction with staff. Lady at the counter working overnight was professional and friendly. Lobby was basic, seemed clean. The room itself was pretty large, could use updating (esp the carpet), didn’t use any of the appliances; the mattresses were fine for the night, pillows could have been better. The room itself appeared pretty clean. There was a gap at the bottom of the door to the hallway, which made the noise from the even later-night guests and dogs pretty loud in our room. Bathroom was fine; good water pressure in shower, liked that sink was in separate area from shower/commode. Breakfast was a bit disappointing; the area is VERY SMALL, only one toaster and waffle maker, and not a lot of healthy choices (like fruit, nuts). Again, it was ok and met our needs for a quick stopover.

This place was old and in need of rehab. The bed was hard as a rock.

We like it cold at night when sleeping.. It worked but was slow to cool Off room. It wasn’t hot by any means and we were able to sleep but a little more power from the ac would have been nice. By 4 am it was freezing.. I would definitely recommend staying here. When coming back through the area, we will stay again.

Townplace was nice for what we needed for a 3 night's stay above all the staff was very nice

The employees talk insanely disrespectful to US during checkout and placed at fraudulent charge on my account.

They would not accept my type of card for the $20 security deposit and was very unhelpful to resolve. Staff was also very rude and refused to get me on the phone with management since they didn’t have a manager on staff.

Not enough stars for the front desk staff, all I can say is awesome!! They go above & beyond when it comes to taking care of their guests. The housekeeping staff is outstanding as well!! Whether your staying one night or long term they make you feel like family.

We were greeted promptly when we arrived by Danielle, she shared her name in case if there were any needs. We had a a small issue with our room that Danielle went above and beyond to correct. The staff in this hotel are overly friendly and supportive they all go out of the way to ensure your stay is top notch. The breakfast at the hotel was great just the space is tight to get to share it. If there's any negative i have to say is parking is very tight. If you're in town and need a reasonable place to stay with friendly helpful folks this is the one.

Overcharged us, was told a manager will call us and no one did. Male front desk was not helpful at all, doesnt seem like he wants to help.

Loved our stay here. Very close to the mall and some cool food options. Decent distance away from things such as the aquarium or parks, but still would recommend.

Clean & comfortable for the 2 of us. The location was perfect for us to attend an event in Chattanooga.

The TownePlace Suites property was a convenient and nice place to stay for my last-minute trip to Chattanooga. The location was clean, safe, and conveniently located and accessible to CHI Memorial Hospital. A nice experience.

The staff was great! I locked my bathroom door and staff came up within 20 minutes to unlock it. Couple things that were not up to par: room phone did not work and not properties fault, but a homeless camp is in the wooded area beside property. Overall, I would stay at this property again.

Location was great. The parking lot is small so we had to park in the next lot over. No big deal, just a longer walk. We would stay again.

A bit of trouble checking in with Credit/debit card. Staff was nice just not competent. Room was well equipped, clean and furnished. Only issue was vent fan in bath was so dusty it only worked a minute and smelled burnt. Breakfast was great. Would stay again.

Enjoyed my stay. Staff, at all positions, were friendly and courteous. Overall condition of property seemed ready for a redo. The breakfast , for the type offered was one of the best I had. Only critique was limiting waffles to weekends only.

Small quiet check-in area, nice staff. Not the traditional long hallways. Spacious rooms, extra night stand nice eating table and large fridge in kitchen area. It had some wall damage Very nice breakfast area. But didn’t like the limited hot breakfast choices. A waffle iron and different choices of meat would be good.
