Great place to stay for a few days rest and relaxation. The location is great for walks, dog walks, beach walks or just having a few days in a quiet location to chill. The hotel manager (Caroline) and staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. The bar and restaurant are constantly busy with locals and visitors that makes for a great friendly atmosphere. The food was exceptional. It is evident that it’s all home cooked and care and attention is given to taste and quality. The bedroom was clean and comfortable and just the right size for two of us and bags for a two day stay. Bathroom was very clean with an absolutely fantastic shower. Thoroughly recommend both the hotel and area for a peaceful few days away.

Made very welcome on arrival and shown to our room. Checked in early but this was not a problem. Plenty tea n coffee in the room also toiletries. Breakfast got better each day and the service was excellent. Dinner was good as was the pizza. Local fish n chips in arndale was excellent. Overall a very good stay and would recommend this place for walkers and cyclists alike. We were on motorbikes and this was not a problem, plenty of parking for everyone. Friendly locals in the bar made us welcome. Staff were amazing could not do enough for us. I would definitely come back here. A little gem in the lakes .

Nice hotel with very friendly helpful staff we took our dog you can take your dog into the restaurant if you want to breakfast is excellent food also nice had a meal in the evening and there is a nice walk down to the sea not quite a beach, but a nice little walk

A quintessential old fashioned pub/hotel and if that is what you seek, it is excellent. Possibly built in the 1800 s the building is old fashioned with rickety floors and ill fitting wooden windows. But we loved it. The light in the toilet would not light and needed some expert attention to do it. The toilet door did not fit and when it did was difficult to open. All of this led to the charm of the building. The bed was very comfortable and bedding clean, fresh and possibly new. The room contained everything you would require down to an iron board and iron. The staff were warm and welcoming and attentive when needed but not over bearing. Our breakfast was for us gigantic and would satisfy even those with a huge appetite. So much so we could not finish it. With table service and a never ending supply of tea and coffee it was a great start to the day. One downside was that no evening meal was available on that Sunday evening so we had to find another restaurant in the village. Apparently the evening meals in the hotel are excellent so it was a disappointment. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.

We thought this was exceptionally good value. Very good breakfast, cooked to order. Nice bar area - very quiet when we were there - a Monday in January, but can imagine it being atmospheric when more people around. We were in room 5 which is quite small, but okay for a night or two. The meal options are great but check when the kitchen is open when you arrive. Breakfast is very good. The situation is perfect for peace and quiet, particularly for visiting Leighton Moss. It would be helpful if the wi-fi details were available in the room, but the staff are very helpful and pro-active so it was easy for me to get this (and other) information.

This is an old building, but well up to the job. Especially liked to control the room heating ourselves. The area is superb, maybe too quiet for some - not us ! Shelley (owner ?) falls over backwards to help, the rest of the staff try to keep up. Bar always open, no food Monday, but an Indian nearby (Pick carefully !). Ideal for those who enjoy the solitude of nature.

I stayed at the Silverdale Hotel whilst doing some walking in the surrounding area. Everything about my stay was excellent. Friendly staff checked me in in minutes and my room was waiting. The room was clean and comfortable and well stocked with bottle water, tea, coffee and biscuits. I had an evening meal at the hotel, fish, chips an peas. The large fish was cooked perfectly, my only complaint was there were too many chips. A very comfortable night's sleep then an excellent breakfast set me up for another days walking. The hotel seemed to be a popular pub with a good selection of beers and plenty of friendly locals. I would definitely recommend the hotel as a base for exploring the Silverdale and Arnside area.

Property was in a lovely area and the charater of the hotel was old and interesting. The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The let down was an extremely noisy extraction system that ran around the out side of our room and There was black mould on the grout around the tiles in the shower that had only partially been treated and in the corner of one of the window cills in the bedroom.

This little hotel is fabulous, the staff were excelent, friendly and helpful from checking in, serving us with our evening meal to check out. We stayed in Room 5, although very small, it had everything we needed. There were lovely thick, very large towels available, nice body wash and cream along with bottled water. Just missing for me was a long mirror and just one comment - the bathroom had obviously been refurbished to a very high standard with a lovely powerful shower, unfortunately mould around the edges has just started to creep in - a quick squrt with a specialist solution will sort this out I am sure. The breakfast, cooked to order at an agreed time with ourselves was excelent, the produce was of good quality and cooked to perfection. We ate in the restuarant at night, it was a little pricey for what was effectively bar food, we had to wait for a long time as the pub itself was rammed - however when it did come it was again lovely. I think residents would benefit from the option of a set meal where they could if they wanted have two or three courses at a resonable price.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely area.Really comfy bed,overlooked lovely garden.We had an evening meal which we really enjoyed it was very good. Breakfast was also amazing. Would definately stay again.

A quintessential old fashioned pub/hotel and if that is what you seek, it is excellent. Possibly built in the 1800 s the building is old fashioned with rickety floors and ill fitting wooden windows. But we loved it. The light in the toilet would not light and needed some expert attention to do it. The toilet door did not fit and when it did was difficult to open. All of this led to the charm of the building. The bed was very comfortable and bedding clean, fresh and possibly new. The room contained everything you would require down to an iron board and iron. The staff were warm and welcoming and attentive when needed but not over bearing. Our breakfast was for us gigantic and would satisfy even those with a huge appetite. So much so we could not finish it. With table service and a never ending supply of tea and coffee it was a great start to the day. One downside was that no evening meal was available on that Sunday evening so we had to find another restaurant in the village. Apparently the evening meals in the hotel are excellent so it was a disappointment. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.

We thought this was exceptionally good value. Very good breakfast, cooked to order. Nice bar area - very quiet when we were there - a Monday in January, but can imagine it being atmospheric when more people around. We were in room 5 which is quite small, but okay for a night or two. Property was in a lovely area and the charater of the hotel was old and interesting. The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The let down was an extremely noisy extraction system that ran around the out side of our room and There was black mould on the grout around the tiles in the shower that had only partially been treated and in the corner of one of the window cills in the bedroom.

This is an old building, but well up to the job. Especially liked to control the room heating ourselves. The area is superb, maybe too quiet for some - not us ! Shelley (owner ?) falls over backwards to help, the rest of the staff try to keep up. Bar always open, no food Monday, but an Indian nearby (Pick carefully !). Ideal for those who enjoy the solitude of nature.

This little hotel is fabulous, the staff were excelent, friendly and helpful from checking in, serving us with our evening meal to check out. We stayed in Room 5, although very small, it had everything we needed. There were lovely thick, very large towels available, nice body wash and cream along with bottled water. Just missing for me was a long mirror and just one comment - the bathroom had obviously been refurbished to a very high standard with a lovely powerful shower, unfortunately mould around the edges has just started to creep in - a quick squrt with a specialist solution will sort this out I am sure. The breakfast, cooked to order at an agreed time with ourselves was excelent, the produce was of good quality and cooked to perfection. We ate in the restuarant at night, it was a little pricey for what was effectively bar food, we had to wait for a long time as the pub itself was rammed - however when it did come it was again lovely. I think residents would benefit from the option of a set meal where they could if they wanted have two or three courses at a resonable price.

The hotel manager (Caroline) and staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. The bar and restaurant are constantly busy with locals and visitors that makes for a great friendly atmosphere. The food was exceptional. It is evident that it’s all home cooked and care and attention is given to taste and quality. Made very welcome on arrival and shown to our room. Checked in early but this was not a problem. Plenty tea n coffee in the room also toiletries. Breakfast got better each day and the service was excellent. Dinner was good as was the pizza. Local fish n chips in arndale was excellent. Overall a very good stay and would recommend this place for walkers and cyclists alike. We were on motorbikes and this was not a problem, plenty of parking for everyone. Friendly locals in the bar made us welcome. Staff were amazing could not do enough for us. I would definitely come back here. A little gem in the lakes .

Fantastic stay at the Silverdale Hotel. The staff were superb - very welcoming and this really added to our stay. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were excellent. Great selection of teas and coffees in our bedroom - was a nice touch. The stay was fantastic value for money and we will return.

Had an amazing stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We were travelling with a young baby and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and relaxed as a family. Food was great too - breakfast was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back - highly recommend!

The hotel is in a wonderful location close to the sea, with lovely countryside walks and various shops within walking distance. All staff were friendly and helpful and both the food and beverages are top quality. The hotel is very dog friendly so our companion as well as us, found our stay most enjoyable. We recommend the hotel most highly and we will definitely stay there again.

Altogether - a very nice experience, where the staff are very friendly and helpful. The evening food is very good albeit from a somewhat limited menu. Breakfasts are extremely good. The hotel is rather olde worlde, with bookshelves, worn but comfortable furnishings and many historic and informative pictures. The hotel is located near an interesting beach, many good walking routes, and an impressive ('tho hilly) golf course, but there is not much else in the way of other bars, or other restaurant choices, unless you go to the adjacent small town of Arnside. All in all a peaceful, and very comfortable stay.

I stayed at the Silverdale Hotel whilst doing some walking in the surrounding area. Everything about my stay was excellent. Friendly staff checked me in in minutes and my room was waiting. The room was clean and comfortable and well stocked with bottle water, tea, coffee and biscuits. I had an evening meal at the hotel, fish, chips an peas. The large fish was cooked perfectly, my only complaint was there were too many chips. A very comfortable night's sleep then an excellent breakfast set me up for another days walking. The hotel seemed to be a popular pub with a good selection of beers and plenty of friendly locals. I would definitely recommend the hotel as a base for exploring the Silverdale and Arnside area.

We ate in the restuarant at night, it was a little pricey for what was effectively bar food, we had to wait for a long time as the pub itself was rammed - however when it did come it was again lovely. I think residents would benefit from the option of a set meal where they could if they wanted have two or three courses at a resonable price.

Only one person seemed to be about when we were checking in and she was serving at bar and answering phone as well. Nice big bedroom and bathroom but it was incredibly hot in the heat wave. We did find a fan in the wardrobe but it would have been handy if they had told us it was there. Had a drink in the garden which was lovely in the shade. Was hoping to try one of the pies for dinner that they advertise but they only had mince ones. I had fish and chips and my husband had ham and eggs, both were very nice but we had wanted to try the pies! Breakfast was cooked to order and spot on. Had to order what we wanted the night before. Waitress very friendly as were all the staff. No proper complaints. Would stay again.

A comfortable hotel with very helpful staff. I had a room facing the garden (Room 6) which, in such good weather, was a bit noisy late into the evening. Dinner and breakfast were good, but I would have liked some fruit with breakfast.
