The bench at the end of the bed was heavily stained. The one comfortable chair's seat cushion was old and cracked and shedding all over the place. We had moved our daughter into her dorm and was looking forward to sitting in the hot tub and sadly it was empty. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. I accidentally left two chargers into the wall behind the chair because there was only one plug on my side of the bed. I called when I got back to St. Louis and of course no found my chargers.

Very clean hotel. Check in was simple. Breakfast was okay - not many options. Pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance. If we would have known this, we would have went somewhere different. Arrived to the hotel three hours early so kids could go swimming - with pool closed we were left with nothing to do.

The stay was nice. Clean hotel and a good breakfast. Never a working hot tub each time i have went over the last year, the pool is small but has been available 8 of 10 times to use. Mainly only interacted with cleaning staff and breakfast staff and they were all nice.

The room was clean but the hallway carpet was atrocious and dirty! The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful but couldn’t resolve our problem. The chair in the room needs to go to the dump. The vinyl is peeling and it is stained.

The property is heavily used. For the price, my Room was in very poor condition with large burn holes in the swivel chair and worn out carpet. Frankly not up to Hilton standards in most ways. A major capital investment is needed.

The room was very dirty and smelled bad. I found pubic hair on the toilet seat, the toilet bowl was dirty from the previous person. There was an empty box of beer in the fridge, the bed smelled musty like somebody had slept in it.

We like the convenience of location, only a few minutes away from family members. What we didn’t like was we were given the wrong room from what we requested & paid for. Once it was corrected, we were placed in a room at the 4th floor where wallpaper in the hallway is peeling off and one of the lamp shades were damaged with rips. Not what we expected and definitely have not experienced before.

Stayed here while taking a medical education recertification class at the University. I appreciated staying here and then being able to leave my car (as I needed the exercise after a long drive down here) and walked on the nicely paved path along the River up to Burlington Avenue where I crossed the highway and climbed the hill. Decent basic breakfast. Wifi worked well. I would stay here again.

The only downside was some loose floor tile in room that squeaked and pinched when stepped on. Otherwise the stay was great. Location is convenient to U of Ia and hospitals. Staff were friendly and responsive. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We especially appreciated the hot breakfast served in an area large enough to accommodate more guests than were there even at the peak time. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The only negative impression we had was a sign in the room that said, “For your convenience, the maid will only come every other day.” How is that convenient? We were only there two nights, so we had no maid service during our stay— no additional coffee, no emptying the tiny wastebaskets that were quite full by the end. If they are trying to save money by only servicing the rooms every other day, say so. Don’t pretend it’s for our convenience. That will remain a running joke for us for quite some time.

Our checkin experience was great. Jo was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Actually, everyone was friendly. The hotel was within 5-10 minutes of everywhere we needed to go. Nice breakfast with nice variety of foods and drinks.Nice size room. Bed comfortable. Couch and footstool worn and in need of recovering or replacement. Adequate amount of electrical outlets and chargers.

The staff was great, but the room had some issues. The bathroom door wouldn't latch. Also the shower caulk definitely needs replaced/or cleaned better. The office chair wanted to tip over if you tried to sit back. The room and bed were very comfortable though. This is the perfect place for us to stay at so I hope they take care these issues.

I stayed here before and gave great reviews. However, on this trip, an unpleasant situation happened... Upon my arrival, the commode in my room was clogged. I called the front desk, asking to have a rep come & handle it. 2 hours passed with no one coming up. I called the front desk again and asked about the status. I was told the maintenance man was out today. I asked if they had a plunger I could borrow, and I would handle it myself. I was told yes; they would send it right up. An hour and a half passed with no plunger. I saw a housekeeper down the hall, asked her for a plunger, took of it myself in under a minute. WHY?!?! Why did I have to wait so long for that???

Slept soundly, very friendly breakfast lady. Good breakfast. Only issues where our room was NEVER cleaned the entire stay. Room should have been cleaned every other day. No trash pickup in the room after 3 days. Also my toddler would like the pool to be heated (lol).

Reception was good. However, when I checked out, I asked for a receipt for the stay. The front desk would not provide one since I booked through Hotels.com. I asked why and was told that was the way it was. I said I provided a credit card and expected a receipt. I was not obliged. Further, the lady at the desk was not interested in explaining anything. Hilton needs to train its staff and explain why I was not permitted a receipt. I was not happy!

The manager was not at the front desk during prime check out time. I waited several minutes, and then I called the Front Desk number and let it ring many times, but no one answered. I left without checking out and then had to interrupt the Symposium I was in to call to check out before noon. On the call, although I described my frustration, the front desk person did not apologize or in any way express regret that I had been inconvenienced or explain his absence from the Front Desk.

Convenient to UHIC and Iowa City businesses, the hotel is clean and comfortable. The external appearance isn’t great, but once inside all the amenities are there. Staff have been helpful and quick to respond.

the included breakfast was not good, eggs/sausage/potatoes were barely warm. muffins seemed a bit doughy. no one cleaning up tables after use. Parking was tight due to 2 vehicles taking up 12 parking spaces (6 spaces each) for the weekend.

This property is quite clean and well-lighted. It is very quiet as well. The only disappointment was the 7:00 am breakfast start. I had to be out the door by 7:00 so I couldn't wait. Please consider an earlier start for breakfast. Nevertheless, I will stay there next time.
