Here’s what you should know before booking. An overall positive stay, with a few good and not so good things to mention: 1. Friendly staff. It seems like everyone in small town Iowa is friendly. But these folks seemed to mean it. 2. Queen size beds Apparently AmericInn measures length instead of width. These are full size mattresses with an extra foot for all the college basketball teams that come through Osage Iowa. But sleep two adults side by side? Oh hell no. When I asked about it, they assured me those were queen size. After pressing it politely, they finally admitted others had complained about the same issue. Go for the king size room if sleeping double. You might get an actual queen. 3. Single use key cards. Swipe once to unlock your door — zap! — they’re dead. Plan on making frequent trips to the front desk with their circa 1989 key card programmer. 4. The anti-cardio exercise room Neither the treadmill or bike worked. But lots of dumbbells if you’re into that. 5. Breakfast A typical, but solid hotel breakfast. I was hoping for bacon one morning. No luck. But they did have biscuits and gravy. Score! Go to Kwik Star for coffee.

Staff is wonderful. I have stay in your hotel 4 nights with 2 different stays. The 1st room was super dusty and the desk had sticky stuff all over it. The corners of the bathroom floors were full of dust/dirt. One of the beds had black little specs all over it. Overall the breakfast is great it's just the one room was not very clean.

I booked online, and when i booked i clicked on the room that has a whirlpool tub. Paying the most expensive price for a room in the hotel i figured that is what i was getting. To show up, to a room that has no whirlpool and was not satisfied. They did nothing to help or fix the situation. Breakfast- ran out of eggs and sausage multiple times... and took a long time to refill. Noted i had a 1 year old which means we have a lot of baby items with us and we were put in a 2nd floor room. Just disappointed overall.

It was a nice stay. The hot tub was nice after a long trip. We used it both nights. My entry card did not work. I went to the front desk but no one was around even when I rang the bell. I came back later though and she got it straightened out. The staff was very friendly.
