Older and quirky but friendly and clean. One drawback - room on the 2nd floor but no elevator. A stranger named Andy cheerfully helped me by carrying my suitcase up the stairs. A cozy bar - I had a drink and a ginger ale before bed. My room was spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was away quickly in the morning.

Staff was super friendly. There was a steong smell of cigarette smoke at the entrance. There is crrently no elevator alo if you have mobility issues, let the staff know not to book you on the second floor.

The room was very clean and well stocked with everything you need to make your stay good. The restaurant was the best breakfast my wife and I had in NFLD. They even had home made bread for breakfast, it was a wonderful treat.

Stay itself was fine, however the cleanliness was subpar. There was old food trays and baskets under the bed, dirty spoons behind a chair, old coffee lids also under the bed. There were also hairs on the bath towels and in the bed sheets which was unacceptable.

Very few hotel options in the area. The rooms were very small and dated and the bath towels were extremely thin. We could hear our neighbors snoring through the wall! The people working at the hotel were delightful though.

The pluses: VERY comfortable bed and pillows. Best sleep I had in a long time. VERY clean bathroom. Minuses: Nothing really to complain about other than the rooms are a bit dated. Doesn’t matter so much at this price.

Nice hotel. Only gripe would be that the WiFi didn't work very well in the room. Go out to the hall or main lobby, no problem. Bed was comfortable and the water pressure & temperature was great in the shower. I would stay and recommend this place.

The night staff were nice. Did have internet problems again. Called desk and they came up to help. It came back. I have to clarify my complaint about no internet the trip before. We were told by the front desk the internet wasn’t working right because there were only 3 routers and the hotel was full. I wasn’t told that when I complained. I was made to feel it was my fault for not contacting the manager.

Stayed for a night; after a ferry landed, about a dozen parties lined up to register for the night. The staff had obviously been through this before and handled the rush efficiently and cheerfully. Same as the dining room, busy, but they took care of all of us travellers. They were great. Had a good sleep. Some neat artifacts and retired rail cars next door, unfortunately it was closed mid August. Nice stay.

We liked the bed was comfortable, clean room. We didn’t like the internet never worked the whole stay. Didn’t like hearing people talk next door and some loud machine. Also the Manager was confrontational when I complained of having no internet. Asked if I told anyone I did phone front desk and they said because they had a crowd and only 3 routers, the manager asked why she wasn’t contacted. She never said sorry to hear that or sorry for your inconvenience. She definitely has no Human Resources training and I personally felt she wanted a confrontation. We have stayed 10 times there in the past 5 years, bought our meals and paid 15% tip, also bought gifts for our grandkids and foster kids. It was the most expensive out of all the hotels from Ontario with no free breakfast. Our estimate is we have spent up to $2,500 at the hotel. I think the Manager has 0 personal skills.

It’s an ordinary hotel with ordinary amenities although we did not expect more here. The receptionist made a gross mistake by charging my credit card twice. Thus I got stuck with that amount of money to be returned back to my credit card account by 5-7 business days and my credit limit will restrict me for further use of card until this money returns to my account. The receptionist should be more careful and vigilant about this type of transaction.

Easily accessible and close to ferry. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. But either Expedia or hotel list our reservation, we think that Expedia never sent to hotel. Luckily, they had more available rooms!!!

This hotel is the first hotel you see when arriving by ferry. So it has hosted probably thousands of visitors over the years. The carpets may be old, worn and tired. The staircase creaks,but the reception staff are the most welcoming, friendly and organized ladies I have come across on our 3 week trip to the Maritimes. The room was spacious,clean and the bed was comfortable. The food is fresh tasty comfort food. And all the servers go out of their way to make you feel at home. Happy and friendly, especially April who helped out on my birthday surprise, thank you!! Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay and I highly recommend!

Easy check-in, great restaurant and easy check out. They really made this simple in spite of the fact that everyone checks in at the same time after coming off of the ferry. Would stay there again for sure.
