This hotel has a cool retro-Spanish theme. There's a vineyard and olive trees in the courtyard. There's also a cozy fire pit shielded from the wind that Cathy at the front desk kindly lit for us. The 156 is a major road, but there is a signal light and pedestrian crossing. From there, it's a short walk along the Alameda to the historic part of town. There are artisan shops, restaurants, the old mission, a grocery store, and a coffee roaster. The coffee roaster also serves food and beer. In the other direction, you can drive up Fremont peak. There's a state park at the top with camping and views overlooking Salinas. It's about a one-hour drive to Pinnacles National Park. This hotel is set up as a venue for weddings and similar gatherings. There wasn't anything like that going on during our stay. The neighboring property has goats and chickens. The bathroom window effectively blocked the sound, and it was noticeable but not disturbing with the window open.

This is my favorite hotel to stay at when I’m in the area! Beautiful property, clean rooms with a rustic feel, you get a sample of wine and the staff are always great! Kathie the front desk gal is so nice and she’s always too funny! Great to come back to a friendly face! I’d suggest a wine night cap by the fire pit before bed!

I chose this hotel for its dog friendly place . There is a big dirt yard by the parking area, where our dog ran around . The hotel itself is clean and basic. Has enough TV channels, but no Netflix. Breakfast is a continental-type of breakfast. The courtyard is nice and relaxing . The staff is super nice, who made us feel at home . Jessica was the first one I encountered: she was the one who helped me by phone , on arrival and most of our stay there . Gabriella and Cathy helped with our room issue due to the work they had in the courtyard. I would return here . It is located in a small, historical town that is all within walking distance .

This property was a pleasant surprise from the pictures. It looked like any other two-story motel, but upon arrival and checking into our room, we realized it was a true Hacienda style with all the rooms facing the courtyard that was very nicely landscaped. There must’ve been 25 very large olive trees surrounded by rounded planters. A large patio and bar area so we could see this was a true event centered as well. . This is just off the highway so I was afraid it would be noisy, but it wasn’t and the parking was easy. The night clerk, I should say we arrived about 7:30 PM, was helpful enough, but not very friendly. The morning staff person was excellent and welcoming and warm. The one thing I would do to change our room next time would be to insist on a room without without an adjoining door, as we could hear the people next-door to us talking and moving about. Our room was very large and very comfortable, but because there are no carpets on the floor and everything, but the bed was hard surfaced you could hear more ambient noises. I give this property a five stars for everything but dropped it to a four because of the ambient noise from next-door. The breakfast the next morning was fairly typical of hotels that provide breakfast, but it was hot and the coffee was good. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was not good especially the eggs! The room was nice and spacious but I killed about 5 or 6 large black spiders! It was beautiful at night with all the lights on the trees! The young lady who checked us in was super nice as well as the room cleaners but the other front desk not so much.

Receptionist was horrible. Simply gave us the keys and that was it. I had to ask what I needed to know about the hotel then she preceded to tell me about the free breakfast and the free glass of wine in the evening. Walls look think but you can hear EVERYTHING. We were awakened by the cleaning lady upstairs cleaning one of the rooms and a group of people outside in the courtyard. The room was clean and spacious and had a Pueblo theme but it didn’t feel welcoming. Found hair in the shower. We came for a wedding in Hollister.

It had a nice patio. Breakfast set up was disorganized. Workers forgot to put out ketchup, tabasco, salt and pepper. Made for bland eggs. Coffee pot had sign that said Decaf and it was regular coffee. Room had a moldy/musky smell. No air freshener. Only one cappuccino mini cup for 2 guests. I guess we were supposed to share. WAY overpriced weekend rate.

When we first arrived we were a lil shocked with the old sign, missing letters, but were pleased when we actually pulled in and walked into the lobby. It was clean and updated. They let us in early since we arrived 2 hours early. The room smelled like pine sol so bad, but again, we were early, they might have just gotten done cleaning. Room was nice, somewhat clean. Just a few areas that need attention. Remote only changed channel up, no volume or power, had to use buttons on tv. At night the light in the trees lit up and it was beautiful. Before leaving we noticed a huge cochroach on the floor by the door.

Clean hotel, easy to park. The only thing I didn’t like was the towels they replaced in the room the second night were either dirty or stained (eye makeup, and face makeup… yuck). But overall good establishment.

Quiet and peaceful place to stay, away from big cities. The room was spacious, but it felt somewhat hospital-y, maybe due to the handicapped-accessible room and amenities. The breakfast was sufficient and had some variety. The courtyard looked magical during the night!

The only complaint about our stay is the fact that the walls are paper thin so you can hear every noise from the next room. We had a family with three kids next door and one of their kids started crying since 4:00 am nonstop and it sounded like if the kid was at our room , really loud.

This is our third time staying here and we’ve been very happy with the value this hotel has to offer. It’s a restoration of an older place and it has been done masterfully. Beautiful grounds, heavy hardwood furnishings. But we were put off by two things. One, the light bulbs were not all functioning, one was flickering and unusable and one of the vanity lights not working at all, making for a very dim lighting. And the two bulbs that were working were different colors, which just makes it look cheap. Very simple fix-why wasn’t this done? Also, the towels are cheap, thin and scratchy. A place this nice should have soft and large bath towels. Breakfast wasn’t bad. Kind of typical American hotel breakfast.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The property is well maintained and cute. The location is very convenient, right off highway 156, but the neighborhood right past it is a little sketchy, though we had no issues at all. My only complaints are: the towels aren't great & our room didn't get serviced during our two night stay. Otherwise good choice and best choice given the limited options in the area.

This is my favorite hotel to stay at when I’m in the area! Beautiful property, clean rooms with a rustic feel, you get a sample of wine and the staff are always great! Kathie the front desk gal is so nice and she’s always too funny! Great to come back to a friendly face! I’d suggest a wine night cap by the fire pit before bed!

The woman who checked us in was fantastic! The man who checked us out seemed to be a bit clueless. I wanted to rebook for our next festival and because he couldn’t find me in the system, he didn’t book my next stay. But the facility is spotless and a great option for San Juan.

Booked an overnighter in advance and stayed here a couple of weeks ago. Arrived at the hotel and there was a wedding taking place in their plaza that we were not made aware of ahead of time (hotel rooms surround the plaza). The front desk agent advised it would end by 10pm as this is the hotel's quiet time. The wedding ended at 10pm, but the celebrations lasted until 3am. That morning during checkout, I questioned the front desk agent as to why they did not enforce shutting down the celebrations as we were told they would. They apologized and I provided my contact info for their manager to correspond with me. I have yet to hear from a hotel manager. ADDITIONALLY, the free breakfast was NOTHING like the pictures on their website as only coffee, juice, yogurt cups, and bagels were provided. Terrible experience at this property that lacks true customer service, especially for the rate they charged us.

This hotel has a cool retro-Spanish theme. There's a vineyard and olive trees in the courtyard. There's also a cozy fire pit shielded from the wind that Cathy at the front desk kindly lit for us. The 156 is a major road, but there is a signal light and pedestrian crossing. From there, it's a short walk along the Alameda to the historic part of town. There are artisan shops, restaurants, the old mission, a grocery store, and a coffee roaster. The coffee roaster also serves food and beer. In the other direction, you can drive up Fremont peak. There's a state park at the top with camping and views overlooking Salinas. It's about a one-hour drive to Pinnacles National Park. This hotel is set up as a venue for weddings and similar gatherings. There wasn't anything like that going on during our stay. The neighboring property has goats and chickens. The bathroom window effectively blocked the sound, and it was noticeable but not disturbing with the window open.

I’ve stayed here many times while visiting San Juan Bautista, or just traveling on 101. I enjoy it every time. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The old mission style is appealing. The location is convenient to beautiful San Juan Bautista and it’s historic Mission.

We loved the lighting at night! So peaceful and relaxing. It was easy to find and parking was easy too. It was right off the highway and a convenient location for visiting the mission and not too far from Pinnacles NP. Wine tasting was a nice surprise too!

The breakfast was not good especially the eggs! The room was nice and spacious but I killed about 5 or 6 large black spiders! It was beautiful at night with all the lights on the trees! The young lady who checked us in was super nice as well as the room cleaners but the other front desk not so much.

The likes ... the staff and overall site were very nice. Parking for motorcycles was perfect (flat and paved). The mehs ... breakfast was so-so (cereal, weird scrambled egg mixture, bagels and breads, that sort of food stuff. Room had two queen beds and the one I slept in was sagged on the right hand side; I felt like I was sleeping in a hole. Shower door didn't have a seal on the bottom and water got all over the bathroom floor soaking the mat. We added a used bath towel to continue sopping up the wet mess. And good luck trying to work the television remote controls ... I gave up.

It had a nice patio. Breakfast set up was disorganized. Workers forgot to put out ketchup, tabasco, salt and pepper. Made for bland eggs. Coffee pot had sign that said Decaf and it was regular coffee. Room had a moldy/musky smell. No air freshener. Only one cappuccino mini cup for 2 guests. I guess we were supposed to share. WAY overpriced weekend rate.

Beautiful location, the grounds were lovely. The room was nice, I liked the decor. I never sleep well in hotels. The way the beds are made is strange. I don't understand the sheet on top of the blanket. Breakfast was marginal.

I’ve stayed here multiple times and it’s a great hotel. Great breakfast. Walking distance to San Juan Bautista, the Mission and all the great shops. The staff is always friendly checking in and out is always easy and pleasant. Only things I did not like were.. Once there was no coffee maker. The hide a bed / king bed room is not convenient or comfortable.
