Quiet and convenient. Property could be tended to a bit more.

The facility is a bit outdated : water damaged in the bathrooms, desperately needs a reno and air conditioning but an extra fan was provided as it was unusually warm. Otherwise the facility was okay and we did have a good sleep.

Reasonably priced accommodation in Harbour Grace. Nothing fancy but suited our needs for a one night stay. Bar and restaurant on site.

Sink wouldn't drain. Restaurant closed.

Window blinds broken at time of check in …they did come and replaced them. Grounds around need mowing . Parking area needs some repairs of holes

Excellent for what I was looking for and then some… great lounge to wind down in. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow 😊🙏

Lots of steps, No elevator (not for people with walking disabilities)

We were situated in the Annex (Motel) part of the property which was not an issue but the phones were not working so for any questions we had to go to the front desk. The restaurant closed at 7PM on Friday night which we were not expecting and there were no others open in the immediate area.

No amenities. Very dated in every way, but clean. Beds were not comfortable. No hassle check in or check out. Check in clerk was friendly. The price made it better.

Checked into one room, had a smell, was like walking into a sauna and the more we looked around the room the more dirt and stains we found. Checked out immediately and he tried to offer us a 2nd room with air conditioning, still not any cleaner.

our room was clean but carried a musty odour similiar to stale smoke. It is outdated and needs some TLC/maintenance.

Super clean & comfortable. Not modern, but well maintained. Friendly staff. Great location.

Very outdated and dirty property. Little housecleaning aside from making the beds. Floors were very dirty with many stains. Many bugs in the room and front office. Leaky fridge. Garbage under bed. The worst part was the smell from the room and hallway. Probably one of the worst places I have stayed. If I paid $75 a night, it wouldn’t be a big deal. But when you pay $140/night, you expect a lot more.

Room was nice and clean, beds were very comfortable.

The rooms were very clean! And the staff at the restaurant were extremely nice and had the best service!!!

Room smells

I don’t know where to start!! The room: The room and it’s contents were very old. Very very old. It smelled of mold and mildew. There was what looked like, black mold in the bathroom. We took pictures. Unfortunately, we had to leave the room before 7:00am because of my partners asthma. There wasn’t anyone on the front desk when we went to check out. The front door was locked. We had to return the key later in the morning. The Dining Room: Ted waited over an hour for our order. The food was tasty and the portions were great. The poor waiter was run ragged. He was serving 7 separate tables himself. Nice guy though. And, I noticed that the kitchen staff were the same persons who worked the front desk when we checked in. Strange place. Won’t return. I expected a bit more for 125$.

The property was very clean and the staff were very helpful. Loved the area.

Had a great stay, impressed with the rooms size and options like coffee, microwave and fridge. Very helpful with needed questions or favors.Thank you for a great stay!

No AC in summer

It was a beautiful room and clean but it had carpet which gave the room a musty smell, and the chair had something stains on it,it could use a microwave, other then that it was a really nice room and i would stay there again

The staff were amazing and the beds were so comfortable

Room was very clean and we got towels daily, garbage basket emptied. Reception very friendly. Restaurant good. But internet very sporadic and even the tv in the room had to be coaxed to turn on. But we had friends in the area, so we were out a lot. Would recommend for the price.

Clean rooms,great stop over but no ac in rooms and window blinds could be updated,didn’t completely close

Room had 2 double beds, fridge, 3 tables and was quite roomy. Very comfortable stay!!

Next door to pub so very noisy-other occupants in and out presumably out to smoke. Old hotel, somewhat updated. Would not stay here again.

We were there during a nearby Wildfire. We had to look else where for meals because the Hotel was helping provide meals for fire fighters. However, the staff was great. If we are back in the Avalon area next year, our first choice will be Hotel Harbour Grace.

We stayed for 2 nights. We stayed the first night in the hotel. The room was not dirty, but kind of old and run down. We went out sightseeing and when we got back they told us we had to move next door to the motel for our second night. We were not happy. The woman at the desk said they were trying all day to get a hold of us to let us know that we had to move. No message or phone call came to my phone. Probably because when we checked in, they never asked for ID, what kind of vehicle we were driving, or for a phone number. So when I pointed that out, she then said ,well you were told yesterday that you would have to move rooms after 1 night. We would never have stayed in the first place if we knew we had to pack up all our stuff and carry it all back down the stairs, outside to the next building, and back up more stairs to another room. Also the motel next door was right beside the kitchen and the smell from the grease was brutal. The folks that work there didn't even say we are sorry for the inconvenience, just get your stuff moved . We found out the reason they moved us to the motel from the hotel was so they didn't have to pay someone to be at the front desk during the night. At this place, they grab your credit card quickly to pay, but that is where the smiles and service ends.

Room didn’t smell great going in, like they tried to cover the smell of mold.. The guy at the front was a bit rude, and the lady I spoke to of the phone was so condescending. Front desk is not 24/7 like stated. No restaurant open the 2 days we were there. You get what you pay for, $50-75 a night should be the going rate. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Was not impressed that staff enter the room when the do not disturb sign was on the door while I was gone for the day.

They cleaned the room everyday and changed our room as we were having to go up steps of stairs when i requested a bottom floor as of being handicapped and i had a problem walking the stairs

Staff was courteous and responsive in this historic hotel. Decor is dated but beds were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Good value for money and located in a very interesting historic village.

It was by the harbour which was nice and it had regular cable tv service on the right Newfoundland time. The bed was comfortable. Easy check in-check out

Very quiet right next door to the harbor. Beautiful older homes a short from the inn. Staff was excellent as well as the food.

Restaurant de l’hôtel fermé tout l’avant-midi car le cuisinier ne pouvait entrer avant 11:30… et pas de restaurant pour le déjeuner à proximité. Matelas horrible ! Mal situé…préférable d’aller à la ville suivante.Quartier bruyant. Port.

It is an older building but was clean and included anything we might need ie: a fan because of no air conditioning. The food at the dining room was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating! The price was reasonable as well!
