A family with 2 young kids just stayed here for 4 nights. We found it a pleasant stay. The room is basic but has everything. The beds and pillows were in the right firm which I loved. It's a contactless service but I was promptly informed by the hosts before arrival and after check-in. Both hosts were lovely in person. Just follow the timetable at the reception to borrow books /DVDs and games. I would recommend this motel to others.

Location, facilities and amenities were great. Firepit, heating & electric blankets during winter made everything very cozy and comfortable. Auf unserem Trip auf der Great Ocean Road buchten wir hier spontan eine Nacht. Die Besitzer sind großartig, unwahrscheinlich hilfsbereit und herzlich, daher gibt es auch volle Punktzahl, sonst hätte es bestimmt für die ein oder andere Kleinigkeit im Zimmer einen Punkt Abzug gegeben. Zunächst sollte man bedenken, dass es ein Motel und kein 4*-Hotel ist. Dafür hat man mehr Platz, einen kostenfreien Parkplatz und Stühle vor der Tür. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig eingerichtet, groß, aber auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es ist alles da, was man braucht, sonst kann man fragen (z.B. Fön). Wasserkocher, kleine Sitzecke, Couch und sogar eine Mikrowelle standen uns zur Verfügung. Wenige Meter entfernt kann man fast den ganzen Tag über Kängurus beobachten, oder kleine Wanderungen unternehmen. Leider hatten wir Pech mit dem Wetter (Überflutungen und gesperrte Straßen) so dass wir nur wenig machen konnten. Auch hier bietet das Motel Abhilfe mit vielen DVDs. Generell gibt es im Ort sonst genug: Eisdiele, Supermarkt und viele Restaurants sind im Umfeld von ca. bis zu 20 Minuten Fußweg erreichbar.

Check in was easy - the key was in the room and the door open. Right away we knew the owners had confidence in their guests and trust was key. To access all the smart TV had to offer required more tech knowledge than we possess and the managers talked us through the process. There was a plethora of bird life at the back of the property and right near our door. Beautiful parrots, kookaburras and others. The atmosphere as relaxed and serene. Thanks Kelly and David. We enjoyed our stay.

This Motel is just beautiful! It’s so quiet and serene. You have kangaroos and bird life right out your door. The staff/owners are amazing they’re kind, friendly, helpful, informative and super accommodating. There is plenty of parking spaces, it’s walkable to town and all you need is close by including shops, hikes, swimming pool, bushwalks and waterfalls. We stayed in the back rooms which were lovely, they were clean, had cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs and even wine glasses. Dishwashing liquid, tea towel and a cloth was also provided (which no other places do). The bed was actually very comfortable, I unfortunately suffer from Rheumatoid arthritis so was extremely appreciative of them providing a good quality mattress and base. Some might struggle with the shower, so anyone taller than 6ft (I just fit under it) will have slight trouble as it’s not adjustable, well it wasn’t in our room anyway. I honestly did not want to leave this Motel I was that happy there. The peace and surroundings are heaven. Huge thank you to Kelly, David and Tony. Can’t wait to come back again in December…..Hurry up December!!!!

It’s the first time I’ve ever stayed at a Hotel/ Motel where your interaction with the staff is absolutely ZERO. Didn’t see any staff at check in or check out. No one came to clean the room, make the bed, or even empty the rubbish bin.

Located a few minutes' walk from the centre of Halls Gap. Very well located for the numerous walking trails in Halls Gap. Very helpful staff. The room in the Gariwerd was clean and comfortable with good facilities. No hesitation in recommending this property

For the modest price we didn't expect luxury, and with that in mind this motel didn't disappoint. The bed an pillow were comfortable, the room was clean, there was a comfy two-person sofa, a fridge-freezer, microwave, electric jug and toaster, as well as a small carton of milk in the fridge. There was a decent selection of instant coffee and tea, an extendable table and two chairs. We got good reception on the TV as well. The bottom of the shower recess showed wear, and I didn't really like the shower head. Also no hand soap was provided in the shower - only shampoo. But for the price, we were pretty happy.

What this motel lacks in 'up to date-ness' it makes up for in cleanliness and friendliness. Communications about our booking were great, more than we've had from anywhere else. Very friendly emails and a cracking guest guide on the website. Check-in is still contactless but easy thanks to the welcome email/text that we had. Walking into the room was a bit like going back in time, decor and bathroom fittings very dated but everything was very clean and the room had everything that we needed. Excellent clear & fun communication from the motel, close to town, really nice room with amazing value for money, quiet, electric blanket kept me toasty on chilly nights, the shower was really good (huge shower head, good water pressure), kangaroos & kookaburras all around, and Kelly was lovely to talk to & had great local knowledge & tips. Highly recommend!

the staff at the motel were very nice but at night when trying to sleep there were adults and kids stamping there feet hard in the communal kitchen area and in the room beside us. The bed was not comfy hard as a rock and shower over the bath is not great either.
the staff at the motel were very nice but at night when trying to sleep there were adults and kids stamping there feet hard in the communal kitchen area and in the room beside us. The bed was not comfy hard as a rock and shower over the bath is not great either.

This Motel is just beautiful! It’s so quiet and serene. You have kangaroos and bird life right out your door. The staff/owners are amazing they’re kind, friendly, helpful, informative and super accommodating. There is plenty of parking spaces, it’s walkable to town and all you need is close by including shops, hikes, swimming pool, bushwalks and waterfalls. We stayed in the back rooms which were lovely, they were clean, had cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs and even wine glasses. Dishwashing liquid, tea towel and a cloth was also provided (which no other places do). The bed was actually very comfortable, I unfortunately suffer from Rheumatoid arthritis so was extremely appreciative of them providing a good quality mattress and base. Some might struggle with the shower, so anyone taller than 6ft (I just fit under it) will have slight trouble as it’s not adjustable, well it wasn’t in our room anyway. I honestly did not want to leave this Motel I was that happy there. The peace and surroundings are heaven. Huge thank you to Kelly, David and Tony. Can’t wait to come back again in December…..Hurry up December!!!!

It’s the first time I’ve ever stayed at a Hotel/ Motel where your interaction with the staff is absolutely ZERO. Didn’t see any staff at check in or check out. No one came to clean the room, make the bed, or even empty the rubbish bin.

A family with 2 young kids just stayed here for 4 nights. We found it a pleasant stay. The room is basic but has everything. The beds and pillows were in the right firm which I loved. It's a contactless service but I was promptly informed by the hosts before arrival and after check-in. Both hosts were lovely in person. Just follow the timetable at the reception to borrow books /DVDs and games. I would recommend this motel to others.

What this motel lacks in 'up to date-ness' it makes up for in cleanliness and friendliness. Communications about our booking were great, more than we've had from anywhere else. Very friendly emails and a cracking guest guide on the website. Check-in is still contactless but easy thanks to the welcome email/text that we had. Walking into the room was a bit like going back in time, decor and bathroom fittings very dated but everything was very clean and the room had everything that we needed. The air-con/heating unit was very modern, efficient and quiet. Plentiful hot water. Located slightly out of town which meant it was nice and quiet but only a short walk to restaurants and cafes.

Check in was easy - the key was in the room and the door open. Right away we knew the owners had confidence in their guests and trust was key. To access all the smart TV had to offer required more tech knowledge than we possess and the managers talked us through the process. There was a plethora of bird life at the back of the property and right near our door. Beautiful parrots, kookaburras and others. The atmosphere as relaxed and serene. Thanks Kelly and David. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent clear & fun communication from the motel, close to town, really nice room with amazing value for money, quiet, electric blanket kept me toasty on chilly nights, the shower was really good (huge shower head, good water pressure), kangaroos & kookaburras all around, and Kelly was lovely to talk to & had great local knowledge & tips. Highly recommend!

Located a few minutes' walk from the centre of Halls Gap. Very well located for the numerous walking trails in Halls Gap. Very helpful staff. The room in the Gariwerd was clean and comfortable with good facilities. No hesitation in recommending this property
