We arrived late in the day and the desk clerk was very helpful and friendly...even getting the elevator for us and stated several times, if we need anything to please let him know. Very clean, comfortable hotel in a nice area. Covered car garage right at the back door.

A very nice locally owned hotel. We ate at the bar which was comfortable. It has a gorgeous courtyard to enjoy the outdoors. A welcome change from the cookie cutter of a chain stay.

Shower drain did not work properly. Lost power overnight and room became very hot. We were told hotel bar was open until midnight and when we went down on Sunday night at 10pm it was closed. Other than that very great place, would stay again.

This is an amazing hotel in the heart of a sleepy city, with great amenities, very accommodating staff, and exceptionally clean rooms. I also enjoyed and appreciated the warm, welcoming lobby. Morning breakfast staff was helpful, positive, and made me feel at home. I will definitely recommend this hotel!

Expedia does not state that after paying the hotel in full! I will arrive and be asked to pullout the card i used to pay for the room to be given no reasons why the hotel will deposit $100.00? For what they never said. Spoke to the manager the next day in petson and I let him know about that charge on my debit card. The room was clean the bed was very comfortable but the towels really need to be thrown in the trash! Discusting how does hotel management allow towels that look like that to continue to be used by customers?!. The television in the room is not a tv. Its a tourist channel that informs you of what is in the area. There weren't any usb portals to connect a cellphone charger?! The shower leaks onto the floor causing a safety issue. Yes! There's free breakfast included. Its basic sausage link's, rubbery egg omelets and horrible bagels. Coffee was meh. I chose this hotel for convenience but that form they had me sign for the $100.00 deposit also you will be automatically donating $1.00 to settlers care abd $2.00 to Delaware Highlands Conservansy!! Why?!? They dont state that either.

Needed to use Internet for work and it kept going in and out. The TV did the same. Shower had missing caulk and was moldy. Bright light outside the window and the curtains did not keep it from illuminating the room at night.

Upon entering the room, there were numerous stains on the carpet. They did not look like there was any attempt to clean them ever . Tried to relax with a drink at the bar, only to find the “bartender” had zero experience making drinks. Bar closed at 9:00, a bit early when there is not much to in town. Breakfast coffee was terrible. Buffet was cold. The place has potential, these are easy fixes!

This hotel is very comfortable. However, I am not at all happy that they have removed TV cable and have only APPS for TV viewing. Not everyone is into that. I have to resort to watching the TV programs I like on my laptop. NOT cool, especially for the price of the room.

Everything was very nice, with one exception. The tv didnt operate because of an apparent dispute with the local cable company. On a long rainy night it was too bad. But the hotel was lovely, staff was courteous and helpful. Extremely dog friendly! We would definitely return.

No one picked up when calling the front desk. When we arrived to check in no one was there. It took 5 mins before someone showed up to check in the line of 3 groups that had formed while we waited for someone.

When my fiancé and I arrived, we had a reasonable expectation that we would be able to check in and get right to our room and get ready for the evening, how ever this was not the case. When we went to check in we had found out our room was already checked in by a different party, under a different credit card! Though the girl at the front desk was helpful in getting us another room, the prior shift let some one else check in to a room that was booked months in advance. The Hotel Anthracite, is very clean and very beautiful hotel, but the people here need to be aware of the names of who are checking in and who is signing for the room.

I really liked this hotel. It has the feel of an era. I find these places to be charming but always run down and dingy. Not Anthracite - it’s very well maintained. The surrounding area seems a little sketchy but inside we felt safe. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced but understaffed. Breakfast buffet was excellent. If you have to stay in the area, stay here.
