Helpful, competent and accommodating staff. That was really great. Shower was fantastic! Lots of high-pressure and hot water. Was nice to have a toaster in the room. Don't know if that's common in Australia (isn't in Canada). The lighting was poor (most lights didn't work - and they wouldn't have been enough anyway) and the room was pretty run down. The main issue, however, was the smell. It was awfully musty.

Great value! Great location and very walkable to all tourist spots. Quick and efficient check in. Wonderful to have microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery so that can self cater. Delicious welcome biscuits. Quiet and comfortable stay.

Nothing flashy - but convenient and suitable for my needs. Room (# 2) lacked sufficient GPOs (points for electric plugs) with equipment having to be unplugged to use something else. One of the liquid dispensers in the shower had come away from the wall and needs to be fixed back on again.

Great central location and excellent value for the facilities provided. Would definitely stay again if the opportunity arises. Friendly greeting upon arrival with some excellent tips on dining options in the town

Quiet convenient room with wonderful bath. Easy walking to everything in the town centre.Close to Telegraph Hotel with great bistro menu.

On main road, but very quiet in our room. Close to shops, cafes and museums. Staff very friendly. Worth a stay if in Tenterfield. Lovely town.

This was a standard motel. We upgraded to a king bed room but the shower was covered in mild. I complained to the manager and he allowed us to move to a standard room. The room had a clean shower recess and the bed was comfortable. I was told by the other manager that the shower in our original room had a leak and the shower recess had silicon treatment that went black with the hard water. In my opinion this room should never have been rented. We have not been offered a refund for the extra cost we paid for the upgraded room as we stayed the 2 nights in the standard room. Both rooms needed a proper clean as there was dust on surfaces and fans but the manager explained it was hard getting cleaners. The motel was in an excellent location being in the Main Street. The water in the shower was hot and had great pressure. The air conditioner was super noisy. It was a fairly quiet location.

Property reviews were very generous, my room was very dark, shower didn’t look clean with ground in dirt on the tiles, towels needed replacing.

the building was alright outside and inside the property was dirty. Windows were full of cobwebs, window sills and windows had never been cleaned and corners were all dirty. If the health department saw it they would close it down till it was cleaned up.

My room at the hotel had a lot of cobwebs and the pillows were smelly. The door to exit the room was broken and would not open. I had to call out to the housekeeper from the window to come and let me out!

Just time for a proper refit - different coloured tiles in bathroom with choice of paint colour do it NO justice. We find if the Shower is in good condition generally everything else is also, yet here the shower needs to be redone for travellers like us looking for reasonable Clean & Tidy bed to sleep. The bedspread has stains on it so not a good feeling to start with, then had to figure out the power point to plug the TV into - as we couldn't reach to roof point where it should have been. Sad to see places this poor just trying to stay afloat but its not fair on people paying to stay doing county trips to spend in towns - then they don't feel like coming back!

The motel is very old and lacks maintenance, our room had paint peeling from bathroom ceiling, stains over bin , bed head and light switches. The shower was filthy with mould and grime all over tiles, it was an unpleasant stay in a dirty room. The only positive for the motel is location close to cafes and restaurants , however noise from semi trailers is quite loud

We've stayed at this motor inn a few times either overnight or two nights as one of our travel stops, and found the room (we were booked in the same room each time) to be clean, comfortable, and reasonable for the price. However, on our most recent trip we were provided with a different room. The bed was comfortable, but that's the extend of anything good to say about our stay. The bathroom/toilet seemed like it has not been cleaned in ages. There was mould on the tiles in the shower, and some tiles were cracked. The towels they supplied were threadbare, there was no toilet roll holder (but a toilet roll dispenser that required special rolls - not supplied), and dust/dirt settled in the corners behind the toilet. But wait, there's more! The room had no ventilation and smelt of stale urine, the toilet seat was not clean, and the floor was sticky. Ironing board but no iron, not all the appliances worked, the fluro lights in the lounge were blindingly bright with no light shades to diffuse the light. The hotel generally smelt of stale cigarette smoke. Never going back again!

We understand the Motor Inn is by no means new, but looks very tired and unloved. Unkempt gardens, broken lighting fixtures within our room, very noisy air conditioning unit, were some things. A lick of paint and some bright newer furnishings would even help. The gentleman who booked us in was great and a seamless process.

The Peter Allen is close to the main road in Tenterfield CBD but surprisingly quiet. Older style motel but in good condition and convenient to Coles and dining options. Comfortable bed and suitable for an overnighter.

We have stayed here a few times when travelling through. Room clean, bed comfy, fantastic shower so all good. A/C very noisy but manageable. Will stay again.

The owner was lovely and very accomodating. We were a very late check in and it wasnt a problem. The room was very clean and tidy. Perfect for what we needed. A quick stop over for the night. The bed was good too 😊😊

The room was mostly very tidy and presented well. The motel is in a great spot in town. We can easily walk to most things. Didn’t really appreciate being asked where I had booked my room then being told rates had not been that low for many years, and it was difficult enough for the owner to make a living without those sort of rates. The guilt trip wasn’t the best start to the night away.

The truck noise from the Main Street was terrible and went all night. We have stayed there several times before and did not encounter this

The Peter Allen is close to the main road in Tenterfield CBD but surprisingly quiet. Older style motel but in good condition and convenient to Coles and dining options. Comfortable bed and suitable for an overnighter.
